I don’t know how exactly but things managed to get back to normal meaning Mino sticking with his friends or his fiancé for a change and Hana completely oblivious to the whole strategy that we had to come with to a avoid a third world war; with us. The thing is, the peace came with a price and it’s quite safe to say that it was an expensive one. We ended up sitting on the table with the most wanted men of the country except that we were probably the only girls in the whole country to whom it meant nothing but a serious hard time. Again who was the cause behind it?

- KIM HANA …I promise if she doesn’t die in my hands by tonight I’m not Choi Subin daughter of…

- IS SUNNY OUT OF HER MIND? Cut the soon to be killed who just arrived to take place at the table where we’ve been exiled and didn’t look to have a single idea about what was happening neither who was the person behind it; herself: - How can she put me on the same table than my boss? What the hell was she thinking? And what’s with that last minute change anyway? Weren’t we supposed to have a high school table?

- I don’t know Miss Brainy…you tell us! Retorted Sue

- Both of you stop it! They’re coming…We formally bid or salutations bowing then took place in that round table that appeared to be the most horrible torture weapon ever. We were eating silently or at least trying since the eighth member of the table appeared to be Mi-yeon eonni daughter of one of the most powerful magistrate of the country. But then her father wasn’t really the reason why she was famous; her being literally a chatterbox was the real reason you didn’t want to be around her. And as the constant flowing words coming from wasn’t enough to be the end of you, her voice had to be the most awful sound on earth. There I was afraid of the awkward silent that might occurs during the dinner due to our last minute table mates yet I found myself now longing for it. After narrating her own biography, bragging about her infamous father, complaining about the menu, hitting on Chang Wook Oppa she suddenly excused herself for a phone call which felt like the most relieving moment since ages…

- OH MY GOD I NEED A DRINK SERIOUSLY WHAT DOES SHE EAT…VIDEOTAPES? Blurted Sue motioning to one of the waiter to come over us, while the boys except of Ki-wong who was sighing heavily mumbling some ‘aish…chincha…mwoya’ maintained their composure probably wanting to impress the younger on how unaffected they can be in order to behave in society which was the quite opposite of Sue right now. She was expressive.

- Let’s just appreciate this priceless minute of silence…I said trying to calm her down closing my eyes and massaging my temples while Hana was silently eating as she was in an ashram in south India. ‘Something is weird it her’ I thought to myself but then brushed it away remembering that her dear boss was few inches from her which probably had a kind of impact.

- ASPIRIN …I suddenly blurted out to my regret gaining attention of the table. I mean ehem…I have aspirin…trying to sound natural and opening my clutch.

- Oh you keep that princess I’m afraid I’m going to need something a little bit stronger…She said standing up at the waiter who came to take her order while he was on his way to deliver some other drinks. Sue being the impatient that she is didn’t say a word but took what was supposed to be someone’s Manhattan, the most manly drink on the tray and killed it in a one shot. The waiter tried to stop her but in vain…

- Sorry, I’m kind of out of time…she said with a killer smile which lead him to disappear to get another one ready but not before turning to a red tomato. . She’s in y Sue mood.

- Damn …see that’s what she did to my waiter…he couldn’t talk for two weeks man…two weeks! Spoke Ki-wong Oppa, which reminded me that the golden clan had just witnessed something they shouldn’t have. Sue’s drinking skills. Holy .

- Maybe I’ll get another one before the talkie monster comes back…already putting her hand up for some other poor waiters that were probably avoiding our table by now, but I made sure this time to be quick enough to grab her hand down.

- HELL NO…you got your drink…and a strong one now you stick your to that chair shut you mouth and let me appreciate whatever peaceful minutes we have left. I said gritting my teeth. Yeah sometimes you need to be tough even if it means not watching my language in front of ‘elders’ when it comes to handling Sue. However my efforts didn’t seem to worth it, as the situation was getting worst…

- Oh my little princess is getting angry at me…did I ever tell you how much I love it when you order me around…such a turn on…She said now with a very sensual voice dangerously getting closer. Holy ing . Not that I wasn’t used to the teasing including the skin ship when she gets a bit tipsy but we were far from being in front of the right audience. Speaking of the public: Ki Oppa was choking hard on his food leading the man to hand him water and tap his back. Might it be that he has an ounce of humanity after all? Chang-wook Oppa cleared his throat then sipped on his hard drink and loosened his tie who was probably suffocating him now and The Vampire stayed true to himself which means; Expressionless. Which reminded me of someone else:

- Yah Hana-yah! Are you going to play solo during the whole dinner??? I kind of need your help here…GOD Sue that wasn’t your first drink was it?

- KIM HANA…I insisted trying to kick her chair this time, which was quite difficult with Sue between us clinging on me like there was no tomorrow.

Still Nothing

- YAH HANA-YAH… ARE YOU IGNORING US? Tried this time Sue probably tired of her own silly act shaking violently her arm…Which finally worked since she dared to finally look up taking off something from her ears… ‘Quires ear plugs???’

- You’ve got to be kidding me… I mumbled while Ki-wong Oppa burst into a big laughter making the rest of this wedding population think that we were having the nicest evening ever. If only they knew…

- What the hell is wrong with you Sue? Are you trying to amputate me?

- Well now that I think about it indeed I have a compelling desire to … can you explain me what the hell is this? She said grabbing the little orange objects from their owner.

- That’s the shield I use in order to protect my precious neurons against Miyeonator…now give it to me before SHE COMES BACK she said eying suspiciously around the table which made me as well look at the public for the second time: Ki Oppa currently in a middle of a hysterical laugh. JJ frowning as if had seen aliens for the first time. Chang Wook Oppa grinning and shaking his head in disbelief. And finally Jin-hyuk Oppa as usual…wait…what…no way…

- Is it a habit to carry those around or today is a special occasion? Said Jin-hyuk with a killer smirk and I swear I see some of his teeth for the first time in my whole life. Even his friends seemed to be shocked by his act.

- Neh? She cleared startled by her boss. - Well when you lived with those two for three years with the bride being the worst of them… they’re few tricks that you might learn if you want to survive…she said trying to sound courteous. I coughed at her words.

- What is that suppose to mean? Frowned Sue. – And how dare you isolate yourself anyway…if there is someone here who must put up with Miyeonator more than anyone it should be you!

- What are you talking about? What is she talking about? Is she drunk?

- No … I mean yes…not totally…a bit I guess…my head starts to suddenly feel heavy.

- Seriously I’m officially sitting with you guys in every wedding from now on you’re just too fun to watch…laughed Ki-wong heartedly and I couldn’t help but give a faint smile.

- Yeah remind me to get him as well all gossip girl seasons DVD for his birthday…mocked Ji-hoon talking to Chang-Wook as my smile faded away. I was about to say something but then I was tired and plus…

-  she’s back…shout Ki-wong. I realized I haven’t took anything to help me get through whatever trial God had put us through tonight and took quickly the bottle of aspirin opened it only to see it being snatched away by the man .

- Give me that my head is about to explode…he said taking an effervescent pill and putting it on his glass of water followed by Ki-wong Chang-wook and Jin-hyuk Oppa who repeated the process. When the bottle came back to me or shall I say has been thrown to me by the bloody thief who took it in the first place; it was empty. Kill me now…

- You know what let’s find a topic of discussion then she won’t have to barge in…her voice is driving me crazy I swear proposed Ki-wong. We awkwardly looked at each other clearing our throats at his proposition, which actually was intelligent.

- Oh sorry It took me long…with the wedding season officially opening I don’t even have time to breath I’m taking care of so many events at the same time but then I guess that’s the price of success…she said laughing at her own praise.

- God I wish you would’ve take longer…whispered Sue at my ear enough for Hana to hear it as well that led the three of us to chuckle and earn a stare from Mi-yeon.

- Don’t worry Mi-yeon-ssi we were actually conversing about things…we are actually IN THE MIDDLE of a conversation right now…said Ki-wong trying to sound natural and I almost burst into a big laughter when I saw the ‘WTF are you talking about’ glare his friends were giving him. It reminded me of us.

- Oh really? I’m glad then I was feeling bad for living you guys alone knowing that I’ve been doing the whole conversation during dinner, it’s good that it wasn’t awkward without me! So what were you talking about? I’m curious to know…

SILENCE

- Subin was giving us details about her next exhibition…blurted Chang-wook Oppa out of the blue which caused the interested to choke hard on her food. ‘Wrong move’. Sue never talks about her work and why that in all of possible topics and most important why her?

- Oh really? Interesting. I thought it was only a hobby. I didn’t know you exhibited your work especially at your age but I guess having few galleries in the name of your mother must have helped to fray a way sooner than it usually takes among the artist population…I felt my muscle tensed at her last comment, I looked at Sue and I sighed in relieve as she was incredibly calm while Hana dropped her fork in her plate and stopped eating. DAMN.

- Mi-yeon-ssi, I’m not really good with twist of words as they’re usually synonym of hypocrisy, which is something that I can’t tolerate, but what are you trying to say exactly? She said without even trying to smile at her leading Mi-yeon to freeze on her spot probably startled by her boldness.

- I think she’s trying to say that your friend has no talent…pretended to whisper Ki-wong obviously looking for some actions.

- Yah…what the hell are you doing? Said Chang-wook scolding his friend obviously upset by the demeanor of the discussion. He didn’t want things to happen that way. He was far from being the person who light up the fire and watch it burn.

- Thank you Ki-wong Oppa that’s what I thought as well. She said nodding to him before adding: - Just to clear your thoughts about it Mi-yeon-ssi; Sue… I mean Subin has exhibited in New York already where nobody had a single idea about who she was along with her clients who are for most of them American and Europeans. As for her next exhibition it will actually be held in Tokyo in the same gallery that had discovered her in the first place. I smiled at how Hana can get passionate when it comes to talk about her friend’s work. She has always been the proud and supporting friend when it comes to do what we love and on our own. This is what makes us according to her and not our family. Thus she would never talk about us using SM entertainment, Hyundai or Amore Pacific but by using the photographer, the painter and the producer title.

- Omo omo omo … Hana ssi… there is a misunderstanding…I

- Didn’t mean that? Cut her Sue this time. I’m sure you didn’t Eonni… don’t worry about it…I hope you didn’t get startled by Hana-ya…she hates it when someone mistakes us with nothing but privileged spoiled and unskilled kids…which you didn’t of course…

- She’s an artist not a marketer Hana…I corrected.

- She should only focus on expressing her inspiration and feelings…calmly said Chang-wook with his all time gentleman confidence and I swear I saw Sue slightly blushing. WTF???

- Yes I know that Oppa and I totally agree with you but that used to be enough when we were in the US. She had proved herself and gained some attention so she should take things a step forward. The Asian art market is way different, and the fact that she is Korean won’t make things easy…

- She has a point, Asians buys only Europeans and American artist work, and it’ll be difficult to find a public here. Agreed Jin-hyuk with his intern.

- Exactly! I mean except for Chinese who buys Chinese artist work but that’s only pure investment since the Chinese contemporary art is rising in Europe. Added Hana to what her boss nodded again.

- Okay the point is the artistic flair is different here…so what? Shrugged Chang-wook.

- So we should take advantage of the visibility she gained in the US to force herself in here…continued Hana.

- And how do I do that? Frowned Sue bored by this part of her job.

- You don’t do anything you just paint. The fact that your gallery sent you from New York to Tokyo is already a great weapon and as for the rest we’ll take care of it …said Hana.

- We? I asked sensing something.

- Yes you and I, me at the marketing and you at the communication. Don’t worry I’ve already planned a strategy for the next two years I’ll get you a copy of the PowerPoint…she nonchalantly said and Jin-hyuk Oppa let out a small chuckle in disbelief, which let his friends to widen their eyes.

- Oh I didn’t know you specialized in communication. Finally said Ki-wong.

-  I didn’t know either…I answered him which made Hana rolled her eyes.

- Not this kind of communication, I meant the blog and shootings…actually it is thanks to her that Sue…I mean Subin’s work has been noticed in the first place…

- How is that? Asked Ji-hoon effortlessly suspicious of the statement.

- I was asked to do a shoot for purple fashion magazine and I clicked with the chief editor. It wasn’t her concept in the first place but after several exchange with her and the DA I got the go-ahead to put some of Subin’s canvas on the setting. I answered with the same nonchalant tone not really please to talk work with him. 

- Purple magazine? Added Ji-hoon not even trying to hide his doubts.

- She seriously must have a compelling power there’s no other explanation…teased Sue

- Stop being so modest…there’s no way they would’ve accepted if you had no talent I smiled.

- Sue is talented for sure but I kind of agree with her…I still don’t understand how you got them to trust you for that shoot in the first place…I mean no matter how talented people are fashion world is so closed yet a newbie like you got to do a shoot with Kate Moss and decided for the setting… added Hana. I giggled and hoped someone would say something not wanting to explain how did things happened and the truth behind that shoot.

- Wait a second…purple fashion SS 2011 issue 15? You did that shoot? Asked Ji-hoon readjusting himself in his chair and I widened my eyes at his knowledge.

- Purple is by far one of my favorites along with I-D; I subscribed for the first time almost 10 years ago. I got all the issues he sternly said with a matter-of-fact tone still frowning at me.

- Oh c’mon give her the real explanation Ji…teased Ki-wong before adding looking at me: He’s been in love with Kate moss since we were 13…finished Ki-wong leading to Chang-Wook laughing and Jin-hyuk smirking probably remembering few things and I genuinely smiled.

- Oh you were? I asked.

- Yah neo chugulle? He said looking at his friend who felt even more exited by his reaction wanting to tease more. I …yeah I liked her…I mean who doesn’t she’s…

- There was a time we even thought he might go to a mental hospital because of his obsession with her…we all laughed at his last comment and how Ji-hoon was getting more angry at the sight of us was quite hilarious.

- Okay you’re exaggerating it wasn’t that bad tried to defend Chang-Wook probably feeling sorry for his friend.

- Well you wouldn’t say that if you were his roommate in boarding school, there was moment I thought I lived in some creepy Kate Moss museum. Added Jin-hyuk with his all time sarcastic tone, which led to, another general laugh.

- Oh I can easily relate to that, we had to go through a similar experience in New York said Hana and I suddenly stopped to laugh.

- Oh yeah right…except that she’s still not over him…played along Sue. I felt my throat dry and gulped a glass of water.

- What are you talking about you never had to share a room with me…neither did you I said eying Sue this time. - That was my personal space and you didn’t have to visit if you wanted. I defended myself.

- Yeah she actually created her own Johnny Deep museum in our house by monopolizing one of the spare room not to say the biggest and we were actually forbidden to enter it…clarified Hana leading again to another general laugh except that I wasn’t a part of it. Ji-hoon only smiled but out of solidarity which my mind couldn’t really process right now.

- God only knows what she would do alone locked up in that room for hours…added Sue and I choke on my food this time.

- Yah … what is that suppose to mean??? It was my studio okay studio…so yeah they were few pictures of Johny but not only… I screamed before regaining my composure and clearing my throat. I won’t loose it. Not yet. – Girls are we seriously playing the dirty files here…you’d know you would loose even before beginning…

- I didn’t say anything! You were the best roommate ever, and your adoration for Johnny deep was completely fine to me…it has never ever been any source of trouble…quickly affirmed Sue. I looked at Hana waiting for her to give me her word.

- My boss is here! …She said stating the obvious.

- I believe that’s the convincing ability you guys stated earlier teased Ki-wong. ‘You haven’t seen anything yet’.

- I agree with her, enough dirty files for the evening…insisted Ji-hoon.

- As if we started…we don’t want to shock those little innocent souls here teased Ki-wong earning a kick from his friend. I chuckled as I imagined the level of Sue’s dirty files. I’m sure the shock won’t be on our side.

- Yeah whatever…the point is I saw that shoot, and it wasn’t bad. You’ve got some skills…he said with his arrogant voice and I scoffed.

- Oh my god…what a historic day…is that a compliment Ji-hoon-ssi? I ironically over reacted.

- Yeah probably that donation we made to those nuns had somehow some kind of effect…he played along with the same ironic tone and I genuinely laughed.

- What? ‘We’? I made that donation…I clarified.

- What the hell are you talking about? Am I the only one lost here? Said a frustrated Ki-wong and I realized everyone was looking at us with a questioning look.

- Long story! We both said in the same time adding to the suspicious looks and I hoped for someone to change the subject.

- So there is something I don’t understand, Subin is planning on following her artistic path which is totally understandable knowing that her two brothers would take the lead of the company but what about you? You’re the only heir…aren’t you expected to take the lead of Amore pacific? I heard the awful and twangy voice telling me. God I forgot about her presence and maybe the nun story wasn’t that bad. Suddenly the mood got heavier as my friends knows that if there is a topic that shouldn’t be brought in front of me it’s exactly this one. Hana stopped eating again and Sue positioned herself to fight on a battlefield. I managed to smile at their reaction and calmly answered:

- Well I’m already working at the company three days a week on several departments and projects, which helps me to learn about the business and as for the rest of the time I focus on photography. My family is quite open about it and I have no pressure since there is no such thing as me taking the lead for at least the next twenty years…I slightly smiled hoping she won’t go further.

- Oh so the rumors about your grandfather skipping your father and giving you the lead are false…I guess you definitely have time to play around if it’s your father who’ll be the next CEO, both your grand-father and father are still young after all…okay publicly talking about my father is basically openly asking me to punch you in the face.

- Holy I heard Ji-hoon whispered to himself obviously the only one amused by the situation and I remembered what kind of jerk he was.

- Play around? Does her job sounds like ‘playing around’ to you?  And what kind of ridiculous rumors are those? How can someone who is personally responsible of the oversea development in the past 10 years, the creation of five new brands and achieving a record turnover for the first time in the French market cannot be the next CEO?  Frowned at her Hana.

- DIRTY FILES! Shout suddenly Sue. – Let’s play dirty files you can say whatever you want about me go ahead … she said confidently clapping her hands hoping for a 360° change of subject.

- Well it’s no secret that her father isn’t popular among the board of directors for obvious reasons regarding his lifestyle and his family issues, henceforth he hasn’t come to Korea for almost 15 years now…it’s completely legitimate to reappraise his ability to take the lead. She said trying to sound intelligent talking to Hana as if I was the most invisible thing on earth. I put my hands on my lap then nobody would see them shiver, closed my eyes and took a deep breath mentally working on how keeping my act together.

- Mi-yeon-ssi, I’m afraid it is not appropriate to have this kind of conversation; I’d appreciate if you could stop commenting on that subject for the sake of everyone. Calmly stepped in Chang-wook Oppa and I felt my heart aching because I was touched by his gesture yet so embarrassed.

- Especially when your knowledge of the elements required for analyzing properly the situation are so limited Mi-yeon-ssi… added this time Jin-hyuk and I couldn’t help but bring my hand to my forehand and smiling nervously in despair. What the hell is happening right now?

- Well I’m sorry it wasn’t my attention to upset anyone here, she said now scoffing at the earlier intrusion. -I was only trying to be honest as hypocrisy is not something Hana-ssi here can tolerate, I thought that everyone would agree on the fact that a man who has abandoned his own daughter isn’t really reliable when it comes to a whole company, is he? She finally said smiling victoriously.

So this is how it feels, being shot. I felt my legs giving up on me and slowly stood up, as I wanted to go anywhere but here when I suddenly felt two persons dragging me back to my chair at the same time. At my right was Sue and I couldn’t expect less from her; at my left was the Man . I frowned at him and he simply whispered, “You’re not going anywhere”, without looking at me. I was going through a mental breakdown trying to figure out what the hell was he doing when I heard Sue:

- Okay you little I’ve had enough of your so far and obviously talking nice to you doesn’t seems to appeal to your ing birdy brain. You’re going to shut the up and get the hell out of here if you don’t want me to cut your filthy tongue and sell it to the national science foundation …does this sound enough honest for you?

- Choi Subin…firmly stopped Chang-Wook glaring at her and she answered with the same stare for what appeared like an eternity. I buried myself on the chair scared of what would happen next.

- Don’t worry Chang-wook ssi, I guess young girls nowadays do not know how to properly act lady-like in front of gentlemen and most important elders…she said satisfied by the demeanor of the situation.

- Oh wait I’ll show you how lady like I can act you mothering slu…

- SIT DOWN. Ordered this time Chang-wook Oppa with a grave expression before starting another stare battle with Sue that finally gave up and sat back. I don’t know what was the most shocking part, Sue standing with a knife in hand ready to mutilate her best friend’s wedding guest or her surrendering to someone who just ordered her. Nobody ever ordered Sue around, even her own parents. – And for your information Mi-yeon-ssi it wasn’t out of worry for you that I was acting I just thought that it would be a great waste if such a talented person might go to prison over someone…I mean something as silly as you. He clarified and both Hana and Ki-wong burst into a laugh. This is my best friend’s wedding, there is no way in hell I’ll let anyone mess it up I finally told myself.

- He’s right Sue baby don’t mind her she absolutely does not worth it, I guess Hana was a little bit to harsh on her and I’m actually sorry that after this quite exceptional silence this is all she could come up with. I said with the calmest tone I could gather.

- Yeah trust me you need a little more to affect such a…wait…what was is it again? ‘A beautiful innocent and pure girl’ like her…said this time Ji-hoon with his same ironic tone. I was ready to attack when I heard my grandmother suddenly talking standing right next to me.

- Is there a problem here? Everyone stood up including me out of politeness slightly bowing. I looked at her and saying that she seemed pissed was quite an understatement. - Everyone sit down…she ordered and we all proceeded. - Everyone except Mi-yeon-ssi…She stood up again right away and I swear I felt sorry for her.

- I believe you have called for me Mrs. Lee, how can I help you? Said the manager who has been monitoring the reception along with my grandmother, as she owns the property where the wedding is being held. I had once organized my birthday party in that same property and Sunny and Tae exchanging their first kiss on that same evening led them to choose this place for their wedding.

- I’m afraid Mi-yeon-ssi will have to leave and enjoy the rest of the course in table number 7. Calmly said my grandmother. I saw Hana and Sue smirking at each other with much of satisfaction while the men except of Ki-wong who was looking at me with widen eyes and mouthing ‘holy cow’ kept their head low.

- I …I don’t understand…Mrs. Lee I… I am sorry … I…

- You have absolutely nothing to be sorry about my dear; it is only for your own delight that I’m proceeding with that little modification. I believe you have an interest about other people’s ‘lifestyle and family issues’ I’m sure you’d be happy to hear about your stepmother’s moral and ethics when your father is busy in court making money to support her and your failing business from table number 7. Do I need to add something else to convince you?

SILENCE

- No…I …I think you made it very clear…she stammered before leaving accompanied by Kim manager and I couldn’t help but admire his professionalism. How could he keep  that poker face after witnessing such a scene?

- Anyway I came to tell you that your grandfather and I were leaving right after the dessert but I just changed my mind, it seems like you need me with those sharks roaming around…

- No it’s okay I am fine, I was doing fine and… Oh my god how long have you been standing there? I’m sure you didn’t hear everything by yourself how did you know that she…

- Let’s just say that I have my own ways, trust me you don’t want to know about that. She cut me off.

- Halmeoni…you absolutely have to teach me how to do that, I can handle your ways I promise! Begged Sue.

- Don’t worry I’ll personally get you a special training in order to give you the basics.

- Yeah well it might not be a bad idea because slicing up people is kind of out of option…I said eying Sue who rolled her eyes at me.

- Slicing, chopping cutting up someone is not the real problem, you just have to be sure to be away from prying eyes clarified my grandmother. The girls started to chuckle along with my dearie grand and I rolled my eyes at the sight only to realize that Ki-wong was again coughing hard probably after choking again on his food, Chang-wook and Jin-hyuk were all straighten up on their chairs and Ji-hoon was trying to keep it low, really really low.

- So Soohyuk is coming? That’s actually another good reason to stay; shall I invite him for dinner tomorrow night? She said naturally and I was the one coughing hard this time gaining interested looks from the male audience while I felt both Sue and Hana freeze on their spots.

- Halmeoni…I started still trying to catch my breath. – 25…You promised 25…please don’t…and I couldn’t say more as she burst into a big laugh.
