“I’m upset that they didn’t bring up our interactions with the fans,” Maria points out to me. “I mean, it’s everywhere on Tumblr. Our fans want an article to come out and say how incredible the relationship is between 5 Pieces and Puzzle; they don’t want speculations about a non-existing couple.” The concert is soon starting and we are spending the last minutes going on each other’s nerves. Well, everyone is going on my nerve, and I’m going on everyone else’s nerve. I have put my phone on silence because Yong Hyun had answered a call from Jonghyun when I was at the press-conference so Jonghyun was waiting on the phone when we came back from it. I was dull and upset when telling him I’m busy and that we can talk later, hanging up before he could get the word. I don’t want to talk to Jonghyun now. I want to forget the scandal and get in the mood for the concert. Wearing a red halterneck dress with a black ribbon belt, net trimmed petticoat and a swing style to the dress, I feel like my mood does not suit it at all. All of us are in red dresses, short ones in different styles to suit each lady for the Christmas concert. I don’t tell the ladies that I’m not in the mood as we get ready for the concert. It is a good sign that the hall is crowded with fans, but I’m still worried for how upset fans will be at the scandal. It’s not like I did anything wrong, it’s just the fact that an article came out. 5 Pieces, our band and dancers all gather for the usual cheer, our stylists and managers are there as well but outside the large crowd gathering around us. “Everyone,” Maria starts to say once everyone has gathered; her voice strict and serious. “Today is the last day all of us are gathered in 2014. My Christmas wish is for everyone to enjoy the holidays and be healthy and enjoy the end of the year. I also want to take this moment to thank you all for this incredible year, we have done awesome and I’m very happy for how 2014 turned out. We are a great team. I know we all work our hardest and today we have three mini-concerts to look forward to. Let’s do awesome today too. We will have fun celebrating 2014 with our fans, so don’t mess up and let’s have a blast out there.” I had forgotten that this might be the last time we meet this year. Oh, but no, since I will have dance practice with the dancers… But for most of us, we probably won’t meet again this year. “I’m asking as the coolest one in the crew,” Maria chuckles, loosing up; “Who are we?” “5 Pieces!” the crew laughs, most of them probably not thinking she is the coolest one and I start smiling too. “Ah, that’s bad. I asked: who are we?!” “5 Pieces!” “AGAIN!” she calls out and she screams with us a last time; “5 PIECES!” It’s weird though. All of us have worked nonstop together for a year now and as soon as 2015 begins 5 Pieces will head to America for half a month, then I will be preparing my solo album – there won’t be much meeting. I hope our crew will come along to our worldwide tour next year. I get nervous when it’s time to get ready by the stage. We have prepared a Christmas mini-concert just for Christmas with fourteen songs of this year’s hit songs by 5 Pieces and Christmas carols, we will play a game and talk. I’m not ready for it and my cheeks are trembling when I practice my smile. The first song is [All I Want For Christmas], and it is Maria and Carolina who are on the stage singing the first part of it. The stage is beautiful for the Christmas concert, in glitter and red and now at the beginning it is very dark, just letting the two ladies being shown for the beautiful vocals of theirs to be heard. Our crew is also dress in Christmas clothes, not all of them come out now and a few are dressed up as reindeers or Santa Claus, but the point is to fill the stage with life and the audience is cheering loudly at the opening song. *I don’t want a lot for Christmas There is just one thing I need (And I) don’t care about the presents Underneath the Christmas tree* *{Julia} I don’t need to hang my stocking There upon the fireplace {Carolina} Santa Claus won’t make me happy With a toy on Christmas day* The stage is shaped a bit out to give more space to fool around, and everyone during the song are running around, being cute and charming and waving to the audience. On the stage I forget everything. I have forgotten the missed calls and unanswered text messages on my cell phone, the article that came out, my angry emotions and I am bouncing around having fun with the people I love working with, showing the artist that I am – I am 5 Pieces’ Hannah! The cute baby of the group starts cheering on two of the male dancers doing cartwheel on the stage. The audience starts cheering lowly as they seem to understand what is going on when Carolina sits down. She puts the microphone to her lips and starts singing the y [Girls Power]. Santa [Girls Power] version, as we are in the red dresses but I think we are just as y as we have been in leather when performing this song. Everything seems to be going well. It’s during [Girls Power] that I think of the scandal article, but the fans are cheering during my parts as usual, chanting my name along with the other members. It’s as if nothing has made them upset today. Did I overdo it? Is it not a big deal at all? Well, I know it’s not a big deal but my mood did not agree with me. Or it is Jonghyun who has made a big deal out of it with his text messages and calls. The point is that I can perform without seeing any angry faces in the audience, and that makes me excited to give even more. The second song comes to an end I smile when 5 Pieces stand next to each other for the greeting. Group name and member’s name, we do it all, and we welcome everyone to our Christmas concert, wishing everyone to enjoy the concert to the fullest and that we have a lot of fun prepared for today. The first concert started 13:00, it has just started, and I look forward to the rest of it. The greeting isn’t that long but we are happy and laughing before saying we will continue with the next song right away, introducing [POWER UP] before the performance begins. [POWER UP] has effects with firework shooting up from around the stage, heating up the hall more than what the song and performance does, and that makes me sweat. We perform [You Thought Wrong Of Me] like usual, charismatic and cool, having attitude for every song we perform and the next song is actually [Silly Boy]. We enjoy the time on the stage, we give well-rehearsed performance and each song is performed differently with different concepts though our outfits are the same for each. I think our fans enjoy it. the audience is singing along, they are chanting, and they are louder than at the music festival yesterday though it’s not as many people – maybe because this hall is filled with our fans, while the show yesterday had a bunch of different fans. Maria and Carolina gets to perform their duet from our album, [Run, My Love] and Carolina also gets to perform [Lazy Love Song] with fun segments of the band getting the spotlight, exactly how Carolina had asked for it to be like, and she laughs when Emelia out of nowhere walks by behind her with a sign ‘congratulation on your solo debut, lazy lover’, both congratulating Carolina on her solo debut in 2014 and making fun of her song. It’s for fun, and the song is fun, so everyone seems to take it the best way. After all, this is 5 Pieces. Next up is [I Want a Man], and I think we have performed this song very little since the promotions ended at the start of the year because the audience reacts wildly to it. Or we are just heated up so everything feels extra much, each movement made and tone sung, I am getting tired in the best way. We sit down to talk a bit, pointing out the Christmas tree in the back (a fake tree) but we point out the notes filling it and we say that is all the Christmas wishes the fans here had written before taking their seats, and that we will play a game later to make those wishes come true. Of course, our staff has made sure there aren’t any weird wishes or impossible ones hanging on that tree. We also talk about Christmas and how we usually spend the holiday (which is working) but when fans tell us to get some rest we admit that this year we are actually going to see our families and that we won’t be working on Christmas and we ask our fans what their plans are which is crazy because everyone starts answering so we just pretend we heard someone say “ah, you’re eating dinner with your girlfriend” or “I want to go out to eat dinner too, I wonder what to eat”. Either way, we entertain our fans when having the talk segment. Before [I Want a Man] we had changed clothes, now sitting in pretty and simple dresses in a light colour. Our dresses are all the same, pretty and long in the back. After the talk the mood changes for the ballad [The Falling Snow]. Fake snow falls down from the ceiling and we sing our hearts out standing next to each other with some space between to take use of the whole stage. It’s beautiful to hear the audience sing along to ballads; they sound beautiful singing with us. It is a snow paradise for that song; I wonder how it looks like for the fans point of view. [The Falling Snow] is meaningful sung this way. The snow falling during the performance presents this as the memory of when we first met, a present for fans, as we sing of the first time meeting this one who makes us happy, wishing we can last forever.
