Chapter Twenty Nine: Luhan's Past

"Taemin-ah~," Minho said with a pout while poking Taemin's sides. He received no reaction from his best friend. "Taemin-ah~"

Taemin was on the bed with his knees to his chest, silently staring at the wall like it was the most exciting thing he's ever seen. Minho's worry over his friend grew. A whole day has passed and he still hasn't spoken a word.

It was worse this morning. Minho woke up because he heard cries from the bathroom. He tried entering but Taemin only came out hours later with his face as expressionless as stone.

"Taemin-ah... you haven't eaten since yesterday...," Minho whispered and sat next to Taemin. "You're going to starve."

Minho swore that he heard Taemin whisper an I don't care with a small voice.

Minho sighed. He went in deep thought and stared at his hands. He used his super hearing to listen to the pulse coming from his wrists. Suddenly, a crazy idea crossed his mind.

He looked at his sharp claws and tested them out on the bed's frame before slashing his wrist with the nail of his index finger.

The smell of blood entered Taemin's nose, making him whip his head around. He stared at the blood on Minho's wrist, which was flowing down his arm.

"What the heck are you doing?," Taemin hissed, his gaze fixed at the blood.

"You need to eat," Minho ignored the pain from his stinging wrist.

Taemin was about to speak when he felt his fangs grow out. He quickly covered his mouth and turned around, his voice muffled.

"What?," Minho said with confusion.

Taemin felt his throat burn. Oh no. This is not good. He stumbled out of bed and fell on the floor.

"Taemin-ah, are you okay?," Minho stood up to help his best friend, who was on the floor.

"Don't!," Taemin screamed and clawed on his still burning throat. "Stay away!"

Minho froze. A feeling of dread suddenly came to him, telling him that going near Taemin was a bad idea.

Shrugging off the feeling, Minho stepped closer to Taemin. The werewolf only caught sight of his best friend's glowing red eyes and pointed teeth before he was tackled to the ground.

Kai, having caught the smell of the werewolf's blood, teleported in the room and tackled Minho to the ground before Taemin could attack. Jonghyun was there too and he screamed at Kai to take Taemin somewhere else.

After Kai disappeared with Taemin, Jonghyun eyed Minho's bleeding wrist before slapping the werewolf across the face.

Minho's eyes widened as he grabbed his stinging cheek. "Yah! What the hell are you---"

"Are you stupid?," Jonghyun growled, making Minho pause. "Do you not know what you almost did?"

Minho didn't want to look even more stupid so he didn't answer.

"Do you not know what happens when a vampire receives werewolf blood?," Jonghyun said with gritted teeth. "Were you trying to kill Taemin and yourself?"

Minho couldn't stop himself from letting out a "What?"

Jonghyun's anger faded away when he realized that Minho had no idea that vampire blood and werewolf blood were not compatible. He let go of Minho's collar and pat the empty space of the bed next to him.

"Sit down. You'll want to listen to this."

"Knock knock," Sun Young couldn't help but feel the de ja vu when she said those words.

After the strange encounter with Kai, Sun Young had tried to go to Kris to discuss certain things about Chanyeol's... evil side. However, Chen blocked her path with a tray of breakfast in his hands and told her to give it to Luhan, who was still too weak to walk.

Sun Young didn't want to say yes but she couldn't say no either. She ended up taking the tray anyway and was now standing in front of Luhan's room.

"Come in," Sun Young heard Luhan's voice in her mind. Before she could touch the doorknob, the door opened and revealed a bedridden Luhan with a warm smile on his face.

"Hi," Luhan said warmly, his smile becoming even brighter.

"Hey," The door closed as soon as Sun Young stepped in the room. She sat on the bed and placed the tray on a nearby desk. "How are you doing?"

Luhan's smile faded. He looked away and sighed. "I'm good."

Sun Young frowned. She figured that Luhan thought he didn't deserve this treatment, since he had lied to his pack members about him being an artificial werewolf. It made her think, did she still trust Luhan? She wasn't sure... she honestly didn't know if anyone even trusted her... everything became complicated ever since the breakout of Luhan's secret and the release of Chanyeol's evil side.

This made Sun Young think, what exactly is love? She loved her brother, she was sure, but Luhan? Before, she felt like her stomach twisted like taffy whenever he was around. Now? She
