❝ This is a warning. ❞ Joongki pushed Soohyun from behind, making him step closer to Gain and Jiyong. The two caught sight of his presence and stood from their seats. "Soohyun." Gain started but Joongki jumped in. "He was listening to your conversation, leader." Soohyun tried to avoid Gain's gaze, but he found himself peeking up once in a while to see how her reaction was. To his surprise, she was still just as blunt, making it difficult to read what she was thinking. Was she mad at him for listening to her and Jiyong's marriage plan? Or was she too upset to even react? Or did she even care at all? "How long have you hiding there?" Jiyong was the one to ask with a stern expression on his face. Though very skinny and tiny in size, compare to Soohyun, his sharp gaze made him look stronger. Soohyun kept his mouth shut. "Hey," Joongki started from behind him, "didn't you hear him? How long have you been hiding and listening to my leader's conversation?" Soohyun shut his eyes for a moment to build up his courage to confess, "I heard everything." This time he looked up and directly into Gain's eyes. He stared so hard that it almost seem like he was looking past her. "The marriage, of how you two will combine your waters and even join your two different kind together. Sure, I don't understand what it all means, but I heard that much." Soohyun said. "Then why were you listening?!" Joongki asked angry at the side. It surprised even Gain that he was suddenly angry. "You humans are really annoying, seriously!" Joongki stomped away when Soohyun couldn't help but yell back at him. "Ah you're not any better! By the way, that's my clothes! When did you steal that!?" Back in the room, Seungho had his arms around Jiyeon as she slept peacefully in his embrace. They were cuddled under the warm blanket and were facing one another. Except, Jiyeon had her face buried in Seungho's neck, while he rest his chin on the top of her head. He opened one of his eye when he heard Joongki and Soohyun's shouting. "When did you steal that?!" After that question, their fight seemed to have died down. Seungho moved back a bit to see that Jiyeon was still asleep, he moved in and pressed his lips against her forehead again, then slowly shut his eyes again. As they were fast to sleep, outside in the living room, it wasn't getting any easier for Soohyun. After Joongki's angry departure, he noticed he still had to either explain or listen to Gain and Jiyong. "If you have already heard everything then there's no need to explain or continue this conversation any further is there?" Gain asked. Soohyun raised his eyebrows in confusion. Gain turned to Jiyong, "Then, we'll meet again when we meet." Jiyong sighed, "Alright, be careful then." Soohyun frowned at their strange words. Exactly what did he miss when he was too focused on Jiyong's outfit from earlier, rather than the content of where their conversation headed. "You too." Gain said. Then she walked over and stopped in front of Soohyun. "Let's go." Though taken aback, he followed Gain out the door after locking eyes with Jiyong for a brief moment. When they've finally exited, Jiyong sighed heavily with his hands pocketed. "Gain, don't you know? Dragons are meant to dominate mermaids? You're out of luck this time, because I'm not just any dragon. I'm the gray dragon." As they headed down the steps Soohyun tried to stop Gain for an answer. "Gain, Gain what was that all about? Hey, Gain—" He stopped asking once he noticed Joongki coming up to them. "What have you decided upon leader?" Joongki asked Gain, while Soohyun stood on the last step awkwardly. The aura between mankind and sirens are definitely different. "Where's Jongsuk?" Gain questioned instead. "He followed Lord Jin's daughter." Gain sighed a little, "I didn't even get the chance to greet her properly after learning of who she really is." Joongki flashed her a short smile, "It's alright. If Jongsuk manage to get her, then you will be seeing her often." "Does that mean Jonguk is planning to stay on land for the time being?" Gain asked. Joongki nodded. "We've decided to stay a little remember? I can't let that guy take that angel from me." Joongki said. "Hey!" Soohyun jumped in instantly, "That guy is my brother-in-law and best friend, and the angel you're speaking of is my little sister. If you want to intervene with their relationship then you must get through me first." Joongki looked up at Soohyun unaffected, "Answer this question, how much of earth is made up of land?" Soohyun frowned, "Why?" "Because there are a lot more water, if I want to kidnap your sister to the sea, then who's going to stop me? Your brother-in-law can't be passing bor
