❝ ....I need her.❞ It wasn't until late in the evening when Seungho opened the door to his house. It almost came as no surprise when he saw Gain sitting at the dining table alone. She had no where to go and she likes him, so he expected her to be there. As he made his way in, he stopped just paces away from Gain. Slowly the lass looked up to meet his tired eyes. "Have you eaten?" He asked to break the silence. "What you said about the siren's kiss. Is it true?" Seungho's eyes were fixed on hers, trying to read her motive for asking. "Why?" He was begging for a hint. "No matter how many times I tried not to think about you....I just can't do it." "So?" Seungho comment almost instantly, catching her to take a breather before answering. "Could it be because of the kiss that I—?" "You were supposed to like Kim Soohyun, Han Gain." Seungho said, cutting her off immediately. "You weren't supposed to be any of my business, you were Soohyun's." "What do you mean?" She asked with a blank face. It was like her emotions were out of her face. "I only took you in to please Seyeon, otherwise I wouldn't care about you. That's why when Soohyun showed up I made very little effort to kick him out. Because he was supposed to teach you, he was supposed to keep falling for you until you return his feelings. But what? You like me?" "What are you talking about?" Gain frowned at his words. "Don't pretend like you don't know. You know fairly well what I'm talking about. It was your kind, who ruined our reputation." "What?" "You hid our queen." There was a moment of silence before Gain broke it with a heavy scoff, "Ah, you mean her, the doyenne from the Atlantic Ocean?" There was a change in Gain's attitude, she sounded more cold and fearless. "Wasn't it, Queen Yoo?" Seungho let out a short breathy scoff, "Now you admit you do know?" Gain stood up from her seat and took a step closer to Seungho, "I'm the tenth daughter of Lord Han from the Pacific, why wouldn't I?" Her tone was suddenly stern and powerful. "Queen Yoo fled to the Pacific, into our land and so we took her under our waves. But your kind, the beasts Yoo searched and crossed over our borders, using your good looks to lure both us and our parents into coming over to your side and your land and meet our graves. Isn't that it?" Seungho smirked a little, "How many times have you walked on land?" Gain shrugged, "Even before I met Soohyun, I've walked with humans before. I just happen lost my human touch after going back to the sea for some time." Seungho chuckled a little, "You called us beasts, but it's the Hans that are truly the beast. Your kind hide and lurk under the Han River and feast on Koreans, aren't you at least a bit shameful of yourself or your kind at all?" Gain took a few steps until she was just a few feet away from Seungho, she rest her arms on his shoulder as she looked up to look at him. She being a few inches shorter than him. "Aren't the Yoos beasts of the sea? Water dragons, you are." Seungho looked down into Gain's daring eyes, "You should move a few steps back. If my father sees, it wouldn't be a pretty sight." Gain her lips, "Why? Would you be embarrassed to be seen with a half-blooded mermaid?" "No. But it's embarrassing to be seen with you in particular." Gain dropped her arms from around his shoulders at that and took a step back. "You're truly a beast of the Yoo's, Yoo Seungho." Seungho flashed her a smug grin, "And you're the evil daughter of Lord Han. I guess we'll be a perfect match after all." Seungho walked into his room after locking the door. Then at his closest's door, he slowly reached out to pushed it open. Below him was a set of stairs and water could be seen over overflowing over the top set of steps. It took a moment before an older man's head could be seen rising from under the dark water's surface. Seungho had his hands pocketed as he watched silently. Water ran down the older's upper body as he stopped near the few top steps. "So?" He asked in a very deep voice. His hair was pitched black and his skin was slightly gray. "Where is she?" He asked. "Lord Jin's daughter said somewhere in town. But I'll have to search for her." "Find her as soon as possible and bring her to me." He demanded. His voice was so deep and hoarsed, there seemed to be an eerie echo followed by his voice. The man turned around but Seungho stopped him with a question. "Jin Seyeon has no means to choose me. Either talk to Lord Jin or replace me." Seungho said calmly, causing the man to turn back around in the water. "Why?" Seungho thought whether he should answer then gestured toward the door to his room, "Lord Han's tenth daughter is taking shelter her
