Part 3 of I Miss You, sunbyung series (I do miss sunbyung. Hoping for sunbyung moment soon). Sorry for the slow update on this series. i honestly considered making the previous chapter as the ending. but... i miss sunbyung so they have to be together hehe

“Hi Pabo unnie!” Chaerin greeted Hyomin who was eating her late breakfast. Without being invited, Chaerin joined Hyomin in the table picking some of the food. She has been hanging out with Hyomin that’s why she already feels at home.

“Yah! I told you to stop calling me that” Hyomin said before she sips her coffee.

“You’re a pabo and so as Sunny unnie. Both of you are pabo.” The younger one said in a matter-of-fact tone. Sunny told them what had happened between her and Hyomin at the cemetery. The other girls supported her and decided to help Sunny move on. They refrained from mentioning anything about Hyomin. For Chaerin, it was a stupid decision because clearly Sunny had tried to move on from Hyomin but never succeeded. For her Sunny is never going to move on from Hyomin now that the latter is alive. But she chose not to say anything and support Sunny. Still she cannot halp it so she nags Hyomin instead.

Hyomin is not surprised that Chaerin knows about hers and Sunny’s last conversation. Chaerin has also been pressing Hyomin reasons, valid reasons, why they decided to both move on with their lives. Hyomin always answers, “That seems to be the best thing to do at that moment.” Chaerin and Hyomin became closer after Hyomin took Chaerin to the underground rap batte as her way of explaining to her what she meant about having more ‘flow’. Since then the young aspiring rapper will always ask Hyomin to take her there.

“Will you stop?”

“I’m just stating a fact. It’s not my fault that you are affected.”

“Drop it. Or else…”

“Or else what?” Chaerin challenged.

Hyomin wearing a smirk on her face leaned forward til their faces are only inches apart. “Or else I’ll call Dara unnie. She’d be happy to see our ‘Baby Pudong’…” Hyomin emphasized the words Dara and Baby Pudong which is Dara’s nickname to the latter. Chaerin always get embarrassed when being called that name because it ruins her fierce girl image.

“Arasso” CL resigned.

“Hi CL!” Soyeon greeted and went straight to the table to pick some food.

“Hi Sso unnie.”

“Hyomin ah, the agency called you again. They wanted to meet you.” Sso took a seat and joined them. “They wanted you to work with the artist with the song you wrote.”

“Didn’t we already explain every detail?” Hyomin took another bite before saying, “That’s why I like writing raps better. Just write, send, done. No hassle.”

“Didn’t know Hyomin unnie is lazy and a whiner.” CL commented.

“Lazy? Not really. Yes, she is a big whiner.” Sso joined in teasing Hyomin.

“You two, I’m here right in front of you.” Hyomin complained.

“Fany, how is your comeback preparation?” Sunny asked. They were having dinner again in Sunny’s place.

“Yes, you have been secretive about it” Says Sica.

“I just want to surprise you all.” Fany answered. She was getting uncomfortable with the topic and she hopes they will drop it.

Flashback

Hyomin followed the receptionist lead her to SME recording studio. “Hello, I’m Park Hyomin” Hyomin bow and greeted them.

The people inside the studio were just staring blankly at Hyomin.

Hyomin cleared and said, “I’m PS.”

“Ahh! Yes please come in!” The manager welcomed Hyomin inside. Everyone introduced themselves to Hyomin but the idol that is shock to meet the song-writer. “Fany, what are you doing just standing there?”

“H..hi. I’m Tiffany Hwang.”

“Hi I’m PS. My real name is…” Hyomin extended her hand.

“Park Hyomin” Fany finishes still staring at Hyomin and leaving Hyomin’s hand hanging.

Feeling the awkward athmosphere, the manager asked, “Do you two know each other?”

Hyomin was also confused and at the same time embarrassed because of the weird attention she is getting.

Tiffany knew that both Hyomin and Sunny has decided to move on with their own lives. Seeing Hyomin’s curious expression confirms that the writer doesn’t know her. Fany didn’t know what to do. In the end she deicded that maybe it’s for the best that she did not bring out the past since Sunbyung has decided to move on. “I heard she said her name earlier.” Tiffany gave as an excused.

“Ahh…Fany is really excited to meet you. She’s a big fan of Bo Go Ship Da.” The manager said.

“Oppa…” Fany whined because the atmosphere is getting more awkward.

There was this awkward silence where everyone was just standing in their places. “I guess we should leave you two alone so you can start working.”

End of Flasback

“There were talks in the agency earlier that you were working with the composer. Umm.. P.S. was it?” Yuri shared.

Something caught onto CL’s throat upon mentioning Hyomin’s pseudo name. “Excuse me.”

“What happened to her?”

“Something caught maybe.”

“I’ll go check on her.” Fany excused herself too to get away from more pressing questions. “Are you ok?” She asked CL.

“Yes, thanks unnie. I’ll go back first.”

Fany held CL’s arm, “You’ve been hanging out with Hyomin.” She accused in a low tone careful not to be heard by the rest. CL was going to deny it but Fany was fast enough, “You’ve been hanging out with her all this time yet you didn’t tell us.”

“Unnie, please don’t tell.” CL begged after being caught redhanded. Both of them whisphering.

“Why you didn’t tell us?”

“The same reason you never tell them that you are working with her.”

“Ugh this is frustrating.”

“I know. I hate this stupid arrangement. They decided to move on and we’re not supposed to bring up the past or even Hyomin but we keep crossing paths.” Chaerin vent out her frustrations in a whisphering manner. It was as if they were sisters complaining about their divorced parent’s arrangements.

“Well you should stop hanging out with her…” Fany suggested.

“No way.”

“I’m gonna tell Sunny.”

“Well I’m going to tell you out as well.”

“Mine is work related.” Fany smiled triumphantly knowing that she won the argument with CL.

“If Hyomin unnie sees this side of you, I’m sure she’ll think different of you.” CL sighed in defeat.

“What do you mean?” Fany stopped CL from returning.

“She said she’s working with a sweet and kind idol. That’s why I never thought she was talking about you.” CL stuck her tounge out before running away from Hellfany.

“Yah! Lee Chaerin! You come back here!” Fany shouted.

“Fany, why did you bring me here?” Hyomin asked the idol who brought her to the ktv.

“To sing and have fun.”

“But it’s your party with your friends.”

“Exactly. My party so I can invite anyone I like to invite.” Fany reasoned out and dragged Hyomin inside.

From outside the rrom, they can hear someone singing Hyomin’s Bo Go Ship Da. “That must be Taeyeon. Kim Taeyeon.” Fany said.

“Jinja?! Kim Taeyeon?! Daebak.” Hyomin cannot believe that Kim Taeyeon is singing her song, Kim Taeyeon is friends with Tiffany Hwang, and that she is meeting Kim Taeyeon in the next few seconds.

Giggling at Hyomin’s expression, Fany opened the door. “Hi! I’m here!” Fany greeted loudly. Everyone was going to complain about the Fany’s loud voice but they were shocked to see Hyomin. “And I brought a friend.”

“Hi” Hyomin greeted awkwardly. It was dead silent even Taeyeon stopped singing when it was her favorite part. All eyes were on her. Hyomin’s eyes fell on someone she knew very well. The person she taught she’d never see again. The person she has been thinking all these times. The person who has been her inspiration in the songs she had written recently. Sunny. “I… I think I should go.”

“No, it’s fine.” Fany stated and dragged Hyomin inside.

Soo held Fany and whispered, “What do you think you are doing?”

“What?” Fany feign innocence. She knew exactly what she is doing and she thinks there is nothing wrong with it.

“Excuse us.” Soo said to everyone and she dragged Fany outside. Soon, almost everyone except for CL and Sunny who was seating a little farther not wanting to join the argument outside nor the conversation inside.

The conversation outside was getting heated and loud, CL decided to go out to pacify things out at least for now.

“I’m sorry I didn’t know.” Hyomin said to Sunny after they were left alone.

“It’s ok, you didn’t know.” Sunny replied and took a drink.

Silence. Awkward Silence.

“How did you know Tiffany?” Sunny asked.

“We’re working together in a song.”

“You’re into music?” Hyomin was into photography.

“Hmm… I write songs mostly rap.”

“Tiffany is into rap?” Sunny asked amused with the idea.

Hyomin let out a giggle… adding a flavor to their flat conversation. “Ani, recently I began writing ballads. The one Fany is doing is a ballad.”

“I see.” Was all Sunny said returning to their flat conversation. Not wanting the awkward atmosphere, Sunny asked, “What songs have you written?”

“I wrote Bo Go Ship Da.” Hyomin answered.

“JINJA!!!” They heard someone exclaimed outside. The two were about to check on their friends when Fany peeked inside and said, “We’re fine. Everything is fine. We’ll be there in a sec.” before closing the door again.

Just Outside

“Will you lower down your voice… we almost got caught.” Fany warned in a whispher.

“Mianhe.” Taeyeon said. “You didn’t tell me she wrote Bo Go Ship Da. You should have brief us this important imformation first. You know how I love that song too.”

“Shh… we all love that song. Now quiet.” Sica shush them.

Yes, it was all an act. It was all CL and Fany’s idea. They all have their ears glued to the small opening of the door listening to Sunbyung’s conversation.

Realizing that Sunbyung is not going to have another conversation til they come back, they all reluctantly went inside.

“Sorry about that. Let’s have some fun!” Fany shouted followed by the others cheers. Seeing their friend’s silly act, Sunbyung can’t help but smile. The atmosphere was better and they all began to have fun. Sunny and Hyomin will sometimes exchange glances which will not go unnoticed from their friends.

Sunny and Hyomin started to hang out. They will often see each other. Hyomin started to have feelings for Sunny but she didn’t dare confess yet. Sunny loves Hyomin to death and back. There is no doubt about that.

Hyomin and Sunny just had dinner together. They decided to take a stroll around the park. They stoped to watch the fireworks. Both are cherishing each and every moment they’re together.

“Such a beautiful way to say goodbye.” Sunny uttered.

“Huh?” Hyomin asked not sure if she heard Sunny correctly.

“Fireworks. They are beautiful and people stay and watch it in awe. But if you think about it, every themepark reserve the fireworks display in the finale. Its like a parting gift to their customers.”

“Or maybe… it’s just their way of saying, ‘Go home it’s already late’” Hyomin joked making Sunny laugh. “Goodbyes aren’t that bad. It can mean the start of a new beginning.” Hyomin continued.

They were both staring at each other. Their eyes are saying a thousand words yet their mouths utter nothing.

“Sunny, I am in love with you. It’s true. I’m sure of it. Please give me a chance to prove it to you.”

“Hyomin…”

“I know you will never forget the past to which I remember nothing of. My brain knows them (the past) but not my heart. Sunny, maybe it’s time we move on from the past and start making new memories together. Let’s start over. What do you say?”

Sunny is crying. She wants it but at the same time she dreaded it. She loves Hyomin. May it be the old or the new, she loves them both. But could she ever forget the past Hyomin? Could she ever stop comparing the two? Does she really love Hyomin not just because she is her past lover but because she really loves this person confessing to her right now? Sunny is really confused.

“Mianhe Hyomin ah.”

Sunny left Hyomin.

Dara gave Hyomin a glass of wine before seating beside her cousin. Hyomin told everything to Dara, how she confessed to Sunny and how Sunny left her.

“It hurts unnie. It hurts so much. In such a small amount of time I experienced a roller coaster of emotions. I thought she feels the same, it turns out she is still conflicted about the past and today. I think she never really saw me as me.”

“Is it? Hyomin, there are a lot of uncertainties in this world. The best you can do is find what’s real and hold on to it.”

Hyomin was thinking what Dara had just said. “Unnie, are you seriously giving me one of those advices you give to your patients?”

“Aniyo.” Dara adjusted her seating to face Hyomin. “Your feelings for Sunny, is it real?”

“Yes, I’m in love with her but...”

“That’s all I need to know. All you need to know and all she needs to know. No buts.”

“Unnie, it’s not that simple. There are a lot of buts involve in here. If only I can remember everything then things will be easier.”

“If you want I can help slam your head on the wall for a slight chance of you remembering your past.”

“Dara Unnie, I’m being serious here.”

“Hyo, you just said that you’re in love with Sunny. If you just believe and hold on to your feelings, you’ll be strong enough to accept whatever Sunny’s answer will be. You will have no reason to be scared.”

“She said sorry then left. That’s pretty much an obvious answer.”

“Maybe she needs to think things over. Don’t give up just yet. Wait for her answer and be ready to accept it nomatter what.”

“It’s agonizing to wait.”

“She waited 5 years. A few days or weeks would not…”

“I know.” Hyomin leaned her head on her petite cousin and mumbled thanks.

 Sunny is a mess. She kept thinking about Hyomin. She can’t let go of the past but she does not want to lose Hyomin. She knew it will be unfair to Hyomin if she keeps holding on to her past. And Bo Go Ship Da playing on the radio while driving is not helping at all either. She parked the car on the side. She needs to think.

After a few good minutes, Sunny made a u-turn and drove to her house, the Lee residence. She went straight to her room.

She has made a decision. She chose to be with Hyomin. She needs to let go of the past. She needs to let go of those memories that may never come back.

Sunny started picking up the photos and put them on the box… she has decided to throw them away.

Hyomin knocked a few times but no one answered. She twisted the knob and it was unlocked. She took a deep breath before she went inside. It was her first time trespassing a house. She immediately went to the stairs. “The first door on the right is Sunny unnies room.” CL told her earlier. The door was slightly ajar. Hyomin knocked twice but no response. She pushed the door to open widely.

There she sees Sunny seated on the floor holding a box.

Sunny knew it was Hyomin. She doesn’t have to look, she can feel it.

Hyomin sat beside Sunny.

“I couldn’t throw them away.” Sunny looked at Hyomin then back to the pictures. “I chose to be with you and let go of the past. So I came here to throw them all away. But I can’t. I can’t throw them away.” Sunny started crying and holding the box tighly. “I want to be with you. I love you but…”

“You love me. That’s all I need to know. No buts.” Hyomin cut Sunny using Dara’s words.

“It’s unfair for you.”

Hyomin shook her head and confessed,“I love you.”

“I love you too.”

She holds Sunny’s hand and said, “How about… you start telling me about all these.” Hyomin picked a random photo, “About this.”

Sunny smiled and wiped her tears with her other hand. “Well, there are a lot of pictures.”

“We have all the time we need.”

Sunny started telling Hyomin about the pictures.

Hyomin who has forgotten and Sunny who was stuck in the past, both learned to accept the fact that the past is a part of their lives and all they have to do is embrace it and continue living on with their lives.

“So… how did we even got together before?”

“You had a crush on me since forever”

“What?!”

“And I knew it since forever though you thought it was a secret.”

“Did you have a cruch on me too?”

“Why do you think I always hang out in Chaerin’s house? You never really talk to me. Even when I hang out at Chaerin’s house, you avoided me. I thought Chaerin was lying about you having a crush on me until one day you went up to me and confess.”
