i realized i havent written an entire sunbyung story for playlist. thanks to browtogs09, i went to revisit sunbyung stories i created in my mind haha. i made a few adjustment for it to fit into a one shot.

there will be a part 2 which i havent started it yet... hehe again i am just excited to update this chapter. :D

A car parked in front of a house. She took a deep breath to relax her nerves.

“Are you sure you want to do this?”

“Unnie, you’ve been asking me that question the whole trip.”

“I just want to make sure.”

“Well, it’s annoying.”

“Mianhe”

The girl took another deep breath.

“Well aren’t you going to go out?”

“Wait, unnie” The younger girl whined.

“Hehehe…  Do you want me to go with you?”

The girl’s eyes spark and she nodded. “Please, Dara unnie.”

“This girl… you could have just ask. Let’s go.”

They stepped out of the car and walked towards a house.

“Does this looks familiar?” The older girl

“Vaguely. I feel at ease though.” The younger girl answered. She was always told to describe her feelings and not just give a short yes or no answer.

When they reach the door, Dara gave the younger girl a look. When she sees that the latter was not going to knock, Dara knocked on the door.

“Just a second!” Someone called from the inside.

The door opened and a lady came out. “How may I help you?”

Both girls look at each other before Dara began, “Are you Mrs. Choi?”

“Yes, I am. How may I help?”

“I’m Dara Park. I called a few days ago.”

“Yes, I remember. I was expecting you yesterday.”

Both girls look at each other with the younger one wearing more concern in her eyes. Dara gave the younger girl a reassuring smile before answering Mrs. Choi.  “Mianhe, something came up yesterday.”

They heard chats and laughters from inside.

“It seems that we came in a bad timing. We can come back again in another time.” Dara continued.

“Yes, the kids are preparing a small gathering.”

“Well we don’t want to bother you. We will be going ahead.”

“Why don’t you two come in for a while to have something to drink?”

“But…”

“I insist. Besides you travelled all the way here. It’s the least I can do.”

“Thank you. We won’t stay long.”

Mrs. Choi led the two girls inside the common area. They can hear chatterings from the kitchen. The younger girl who has not spoken since was looking around. Dara was watching the younger girl’s action.

“Thank you again Mrs. Choi.”

“You’re welcome to come back again anytime. I am sorry I could not accommodate you today.” Mrs. Choi said. She watched the girl that keeps looking around. “If you like, I can take you around. You can meet my daughter and her friends who are in the kitchen. How would you like that?” Mrs. Choi asked looking directly at the silent girl.

Feeling the gaze upon her, she answered “Aniyo it’s ok Mrs. Choi. We will come back again in another time. Thank you.” It was the first and longest sentence she has ever spoken to the lady. She then bowed her head in embarrassment.

“We’ll come back in another time. Hyomin is really shy to strangers.” Dara explained.

Mrs. Choi smile understandingly.

“Auntie… Oh I’m sorry. I didn’t know you have a visitor.” The girl bowed.

“It seems like we’ve bothered you too much. We’ll be going.” Dara said and stood up.

Hyomin stood up and bowed to Mrs. Choi. They were about to walk when they heard something being dropped on the floor.

The girl who walked in earlier was looking straight at Hyomin. She looked shocked. Tears were starting to form. She failed to notice the mess she made. The measuring cup and the milk that were all over her floor.

“Sunny, are you alright?” Mrs. Choi asked with concern.

Hyomin bowed to Mrs. Choi then she stare at Sunny for a few seconds before following Dara outside. Before entering the car, Hyomin turn around to give a house another look. She was hoping to find something.

Sunny was not sure if what she saw was real. Was it a ghost? She wanted to call out her name but no voice will come out. Mrs. Choi and her friends were all asking whether she was ok but her mind was still a mess. Ignoring them, she walked outside. She wanted to be sure. And right outside, she found her answer looking back at the house.

Hyomin didn’t find anything but the girl earlier staring at her. She finds it strange how the girl looks at her as if she has seen a ghost. They were staring at each other.

“Hyomin, let’s go!” Dara called out.

Hyomin gave a smile before getting inside the car. She is not sure why she smiled at the girl. Maybe it was because the girl seems to be crying.

“What took you so long? Did you find anything familiar?”

Hyomin shook her head. The girl Sunny... why was she acting strange?

After the car left, Sunny was still staring at the direction where the car went. Mrs. Choi and the others were getting concerned by Sunny’s action.

It’s her. It really is her. Hyomin. “It’s her.”

“Who?”

“It’s her. It’s Hyomin…” Sunny started to break down. The rest took her to the common room where Dara and Hyomin were.

“As in Hyomin? Park Hyomin?” Chaerin asked when Sunny has clamed down.

“No way…” said Yuri not believing it.

“It can’t be. We thought she’s dead.” Taeyeon said.

“We all thought of it but Sunny said she saw Hyomin. Auntie, who were your visitors?” Fany asked.

“They were Dara Park and Park Hyomin.” Mrs. Choi answered and everyone were shock except for Sunny, herself and Sooyoung were just confused of what was happening.

“Auntie, can you tell us why they were here?” Sica asked.

“Dara called me the other day asking a favor if she and her cousin visit the house. I thought they were interested in buying the house but I told them that it is not for sale. She explained that her cousin’s family were the owners of this house before us. She then shared that Hyomin’s family were in a shipwreck. Everyone thought no one survived. But Hyomin barely survived. Someone found her barely alive and took her in the small town hospital. When she woke up she didn’t remember anything. A family took her in and took care of her.

Dara is Hyomin’s cousin. 2 years ago, Dara was assigned to the said small town hospital for her medical practice. She found Hyomin and since then she has been taking care of her. She said that maybe visiting her old house will help Hyomin remember her past.” When Mrs. Choi finished she found almost everyone in tears and trying to confort Sunny. “Will someone explain to me what is happening?”

“The thing is Auntie, Hyomin is our friend. We all thought that she died in that accident.” Taeyeon answered. She then looks at Sunny. “Sunny is… they were together Auntie. Sunny took it harder than any of us.”

“How about we all call it a day so we can all rest especially you Sunny.” Mrs. Choi suggested.

“I’m sorry I ruined this party.”

“Don’t be. We can have it in another day. Besides I’m sure you all haven’t finished anything.” The lady was trying to lift up the mood. She was successful because most of them smiled.

Chaerin walked to the house just right next to the Choi’s. She lives there but she moved to Japan to study college. Fany, Sica, Yuri, Taeyeon and Sunny walked across the road where Sunny’s house is. The four decided to stay with Sunny after the recent event.  Sunny and her family moved to America almost a year after Hyomin’s accident. Sunny was badly devastated by the accident that her family decided to move to give Sunny a new environment.

Today was supposed to be a gathering since Sunny and Chaerin came back. The Chois moved in 6 months after the accident. At first Sunny could not accept it. She wanted them out. Sunny’s parents were always apologetic to the Chois but Mrs. Choi was more than understanding. Later on, Mrs Choi’s daughter, Sooyoung became Sunny and Chaerin’s friend. Sunny and Chaerin are cousins and have been closed since they were kids. Soo became part of the gang. However, Sunny stil hasn’t moved on from Hyomin, that is why her family decided to move.

Inside the house, Sunny locked herself inside her room. Her friends tried to comfort her but she wanted to be alone.

The next morning.

“Good morning unnies!” Chaerin greeted them. “How is she?” She asked the four referring to Sunny.

“She locked herself in her room. we tried to confort her but she won’t open up.”

“We should give her some space.”

“The best we could do is to make her feel that we are here for her.”

“Chaerin ah, we all have to go.”

“Ok unnies. I’ll go check up on Sunny unnie.” Chaerin assured them.

 Chaerin walked upstairs to Sunny’s room. “Unnie…” She called as she knocked on the door. No answer.

“Unnie, I’m opening the door, ok?”

Still no answer.

Chaerin opened the door and she found Sunny sitting on the floor surrounded by pictures. Sunny and Hyomin’s pictures. “I didn’t know you kept them all.” Chaerin said while slowly walking towards her cousin careful not to step on the pictures.

“I couldn’t throw them away.”

Chaerin sat on the bed and looked at the pictures. The two were a perfect couple. She also missed her funny and adorable Hyomin unnie.

“Why now?” Chaerin looked at her cousin. “Why did she came back? Why now?! I have been waiting for her for years. For years and years, I have been waiting and longing for her. I kept on believing that she was still alive and that she’ll come back to me. Why now Chaerinn ah? When I have finally got my life back together? She came back…” Sunny started to cry and Chaerin can only hug her tightly. “I don’t know what to do…”

Chaerin didn’t know what to say. She hugged her cousin and looked around the pictures scattered around.She couldn’t help but stare at a picture of the happy couple.

5 years. It has been 5 long years since Hyomin went missing. 5 long years since Sunny has been longing and holding onto her. And now she is back… without any memory of Sunny.

Everything is a mess.
