The six-some are packing up their stuff. The skies have
darkened considerably.

PACO
Shucks, mukhang uulan talaga ng
malakas, ah.

LIZ
Anong oras na ba?

ENZO
Ala singco y media na.

JANNA
Kala ko ba 4 pm tayo susunduin.

TINAY
Alam mo, may feeling ako na di sila
tutuloy.

ENZO
Pangit kasi ang panahon.

LENA
Maaring pinagpaliban nila ang pagsundo
sa atin.

LIZ
Pinagpaliban hanggang kelan?

Everyone looked at each other. On their face is a look of
retreat and a little bit of desperation.

ENZO
Guys, I think we need to pack our
things up and move towards higher
grounds.

LIZ
Bakit? Dapat maghintay na lang
tayo dito sa kanila.

TINAY
Kilala ko ang mga iyon, hindi sila
susuong sa ganito klaseng panahon.

JANNA
Wala namang naiulat na bagyo, di ba?

ENZO
We are in a tropical country,
storms can happen anytime.

PACO
Pare, tides are really coming up fast. We can't
stay here on the beach. We have to move.

ENZO
Let’s move towards that hill over
there.

LENA
Alam ko na, parang may nakita
kaming kubo nung minsan napunta
kami ni Rafael dito. Sa banda doon.

ENZO
Naalala mo ba ang daan papunta doon,
Lena?

LENA
Sa palagay ko, oo. Dun lang yun sa
ibayo.

Rain started to fall. It started out as a drizzle then large
fat drops of it started to pour. The six some grabbed every
last bits of their belongings and ran towards the direction
Lena pointed out.

INT. BAHAY KUBO - MACABRE ISLAND - CONTINUOUS

The bahay kubo was bare. It had nothing on it but a large
table and a makeshift kitchen. The group arrived wet, out
of breath and well spent. They had barely made it in before
the rain intensified.

PACO
Now, that is what I call fun.

JANNA
Oh my God, bagyo na ata to!

LIZ
I knew it! We should have listened
to Lolo. What if this island is
really cursed at hindi tayo
makakabalik sa mansiyon, forever!

PACO
Mahal naman, masyado kang madrama.
Yung sabi ni Lolo, local myth lang yun.

LIZ
Local myth man yun o hindi, we should have
listened! The Gods are punishing us!

JANNA
Sis, calm down...it’s just a little
rain...

An ear-deafening thunder blasted almost on cue, almost
shaking down the bamboo shanty.

JANNA (CONTINUOUSLY)
Or maybe not.

PACO
Guys, bad news. Wala na tayong
natirang pagkain. All we have left
are junk foods. Wala na rin tayong
fresh water.

LIZ
Oh my God, see?!

LENA
Huwag tayong mag-panic. Magsahod
tayo ng tubig-ulan sa labas for
fresh water.

ENZO
Tama si Lena. Guys, hanap tayo din ng
gasera, damit o pagkain. We need to
get out of these wet clothes...
anything we can find.

The group searched and rummaged the small shanty. They were
able to find a couple of small oil lamps and several candles.

Lena and Tinay managed to find an old batya, cleaned it and
used it to gather rain water.

Paco was looking into an old baul by the corner. All of a
sudden, he yelled triumphantly.

PACO
Panginoon ko, salamat!

LIZ
Ano yan pagkain?

PACO
Look what I have found!!! Gold!!!

Paco lifted up his prize find ... two big bottles of local
whiskey!

LIZ
You’re so stupid! Anong gusto mong
gawin? Drown yourself in alcohol?

PACO
Of course, kung mamamatay na rin
lang ako, I’d rather die drunk and
happy.

JANNA
Paco, you are so immature.

PACO
Siguro hindi magagalit ang may-ari
nito kung iinumin natin to. At
least may pampainit na tayo sa katawan.

LIZ
Ikaw talaga, kahit kelan puro
alcohol yang nasa isip mo!

PACO
Basta promise...pag tayo nakaalis
sa islang ito. Babalik ako dito at
ire-replenish ko tong supply ng
inumin dito, nang sa ganoon ay kung
may mastranded ulit dito, may
mapagkaabalahan sila.

LIZ
Wala ba talagang signal dito.

TINAY
Dito? Signal? Sinong ite-text mo?
Yung mga diwata para patigilin ang
ulan?

LIZ
Nagtatanong lang po.

PACO
By the way, guys, may mga lumang damit
pala duon sa baul.

LENA
Ulol! Ba’t hindi mo sinabi agad?
Kita mo nang nanginginig na kami dito.

PACO
Sorry, na-excite kasi ako ng makita
ko to.

ENZO
Dude, one-way street lang talaga yang utak
mo, no?

Enzo playfully hits Paco on the head. Paco meanwhile still
holds on to his precious finds, occasionally kissing the
bottles one by one.

INT. BAHAY KUBO - SEVERAL HOURS LATER - NIGHTTIME

The storm, died down a little bit. It was still really dark
all over. The only light in the island comes from the feeble
"gasera" and the dying candles on their table. They were
seated around it. Liz and Janna are snuggling with their
boyfriends, while Tinay and Lena share an old blanket. From
the looks of the almost empty bottles of whisky, and their
slightly glazed looks, everyone had their share of the
drinks. Paco himself is talking more loudly now than ever,
evidently he had one too many shots of the local brew. Tinay,
is quiet and giggly. Janna and Liz are way more brazen now
with their boyfriends. The only almost sober persons in the
house are Lena and Enzo.

PACO
Pare, P#@ang ina naman kasi...Sabi
mo picnic, hindi mo naman sinabi na
camping pala ito, di sana nagdala
tayo ng tent, ng de lata, ng mga
gasera....

ENZO
Pare naman, malay ba nating
babagyuhin tayo ng ganito?

JANNA
Urrrgghhh, this is so boring! Wala
na ba tayong magawa kundi mag-stare
into each others’ faces?

LIZ
Anong naisip mong gawin?

JANNA
Let’s play!

TINAY
Anong laro?

JANNA
Spin the bottle...with a twist.

LENA
Anong twist? Ang alam ko lang yung
may truth and consequence.

TINAY
Yun ba? Masaya yun...

JANNA
Wait till you hear what the twist is!

PACO
Game ako diyan.

Janna grabs one of the empty bottles.

JANNA
So, one will spin, kung sino ang
matatamaan, he or she will be asked truth or
consequence. Kung truth, kailangan
niyang sagutin ang tanong, kung
hindi niya masagot o kung nahuli
siyang nagsisinungaling, kailangan
niyang i-kiss kung sino ang
matatamaan sa next spin. Kung
consequence naman, pag hindi niya
magawa ang consequence kailangan
niyang mag-hubad ng one piece of
clothing.

LENA
Ay, ayaw ko nang sumali.

ENZO
Come on, Lena. This is just for
fun. You don’t have to strip down,
all you have to do is to answer the
question truthfully or do the
consequence.

LENA
Ayaw ko pa rin.

PACO
Here Lena, shot ka muna, para naman
may lakas ka ng loob.

Lena protests, but eventually gave in and drank the shot.

She felt warm on the face. Slowly, some of her inhibitions are seemingly dissipating along with the vile, brown liquid whiskey.

ENZO
Thatta Girl! That is what we call
"liquid courage."

JANNA
You guys ready?

LIZ
Go, ako muna mag-spin.

Liz spins and lands on Tinay.

JANNA
Truth or consequence?

TINAY
Truth.

LIZ
Sino ang crush mo?

TINAY
Ang dali naman nun. Siyempre si
Kuya! Crush na kita kahit nung
maliit pa tayo!

ENZO
Ha ha ha. Obvious naman, eh.

TINAY
So, magki-kiss na ako sa kanya?

JANNA
No!!! Ki-kiss ka lang kung hindi ka
sasagot sa tanong. At yun ay yung
susunod na tatamaan ng bote. Spin
ka na, Tinay!

Tinay spins. It lands on Janna.

JANNA
Me! Oh my God! Sige truth, uli.

TINAY
Akong magtatanong...Ehem... ka pa ba?

LIZ
Ewww, what a question!

PACO
Rules are rules, Janna. Answer the
question, or else spin...

JANNA
No way! I won’t answer it. I’ll spin.

Lena was looking at Enzo all the time. She could not read
his reactions.

Janna meanwhile spun the bottle. She was aiming for Enzo but
it landed on Liz, who was seating next to Enzo.

LIZ
Eeewwww, you mean to say she has to kiss me?

PACO
At sa lips kailangan! Ito na yung
pinapangarap natin, pare. Some girl
to girl action.

ENZO
Gago ka talaga. Dinamay pa ako.

JANNA
Ayaw ko, that is yucky.

ENZO
Rules are rules, girls. Di naman
kami ang nag-imbento ng game na ito,
you did. So, you gotta do it. Here,
take a shot.

TINAY
Nay, ayaw kong manood.

LENA
Ipikit mo na lang ang mata mo, Tinay.

Janna downs a shot of whisky and gives Liz a quick peck on the lips.

JANNA
Happy?!!

PACO
Yeah!!!! I love this game!

Enzo and Paco slapped high fives in the air.

LIZ
You’re such a , Paco. Ako na
ang spi-spin?

PACO
Yup, ikaw na.

ENZO
Don’t worry girls, I’m pretty sure
you won’t remember what you did
tomorrow. Di bale, kukwentuhan ko
na lang kayo.

Liz spins and it lands on Enzo.

PACO
Pare, ako ang magtatanong sa iyo.

ENZO
Consequence na lang.

PACO
Hindi, mag-truth ka.

ENZO
Sige na nga, shoot! Go easy on me,
pare...

PACO
Aside from your girlfriend, sinong
girl ang gusto mong i-shag?

LIZ
You’re so bastos! Next question...

ENZO
No, I can answer it...

PACO
Shoot!

ENZO
Siguro si...Lena?!!

Lena was so shocked by the candid answer!

JANNA
Sabi ko na nga ba!!!!

ENZO
Sweetie, sabi niya naman "aside
from you". Ikaw talaga ang first
choice ko.

JANNA
You didn’t have to choose her! You
could have chosen anybody in the
world, yet you chose her!

ENZO
Hindi no! Di ba pare, sabi mo
"from anybody in this room?"

PACO
Nope pare, hindi ko sinabi "from anybody

ENZO

TINAY
Ay naku...wala nang bawian.

Enzo tries to pacify the now drunk and unruly Janna.

PACO
(to Lena)
Ingat ka kay Enzo, Lena! Ha ha ha.
May H.D. pala siya sa iyo.

Lena felt her face become flushed. It’s a good thing there
is minimal light or else everyone would’ve noticed how much
she blushed.

TINAY
Spin mo na, Senyorito.

Enzo spins, it lands on Paco.

ENZO
Payback time.

PACO
Okay go!

ENZO
Truth or consequence?

PACO
Consequence.

ENZO
Amuyin mo ang kilikili ng lahat ng
mga babae dito at sabihin mo sa
amin kung kanino ang pinakamabango!

PACO
Ayoko ko kaya!

ENZO
Kung ayaw mong gawin, di maghubad ka!

PACO
Pwede bang kiss na lang sa next spin?!

ENZO
Payag ba kayo nun girls?

LIZ
Okay. Sige na nga. Ayaw kong
ipaamoy ang kili-kili ko no. But this spin
better land on me.

LENA
Okay! Spin ka na.

Paco spins and it lands on Tinay!

TINAY
Inay ko po!

PACO
Honey, okay lang ba na halikan ko
si Tinay?

LIZ
Okay lang, basta less than five
seconds. Kasi, if more than five, that means you mean it.

Paco moves in closer and gives Tinay a kiss on the lips.

PACO
Lasang alak!

TINAY
Loko!

PACO
Ako ba ang first kiss mo, Tinay?

ENZO
Hindi no! Sabi ni Tinay sa akin si
Julio daw ang una niyang halik.

TINAY
Kuya!!! Ikaw talaga! Bata pa kami
nun! Dose pa lang ata kami nun!

LENA
Ikaw Tinay, ha? Naunahan mo pa ako!

ENZO
Hindi ka pa nahahalikan? Ever?

LIZ
Owwss??? Not even a smack?

LENA
Hindi pa kaya!

TINAY
Guys, nakatulog na ata si Janna!

Janna is way too drunk to listen. Enzo carried her over to the wooden sofa to
properly doze off.

LENA
Ayan, since tulog na si Janna, tapos na ang laro na to.

PACO
No, one more spin.

Paco spins and it lands on Lena.

LIZ
Ayan, nadale ka rin.

TINAY
Ako ang magtatanong. Ngayong alam
na natin na hindi ka pa nahahalikan,
sino ang gusto mong magbigay sa iyo
ng first kiss mo...si Rafael o si Enzo?

LENA
Tinay!

PACO
Sagutin mo ang tanong, Lena! Sige na!

LENA
Ayoko...

LIZ
Laro lang to, Lena.

LENA
Sige, si Rafael!

TINAY
Sinungaling! Iba sinabi mo sa akin
kanina!

LENA
Tinay! Hindi kaya! Ikaw ang sinungaling!

Enzo was beaming. The prospect of him kissing Lena made him smile from ear to ear.

ENZO
Totoo ba iyon, Lena?

LENA
Hindi uy, si Rafael talaga!

ENZO
I’m surprised na hanggang ngayon, di pa rin pala siya nakakahalik sa iyo?

LENA
Rafael? Hindi pa, no! Katakot lang niya.

PACO
Dahil sinungaling ka Lena, mag-spin
ka. Yan ang consequence mo. Kung
sino ang matamaan, kailangan
halikan mo.

LENA
Naku, ikaw Tinay pahamak ka...

TINAY
Lasing ako! Kaya talo-talo na to!

Lena spins. She was praying hard that it would not be Enzo.
It would be very, very embarassing. She was praying so hard
that it would be either Tinay, or even Paco...the prospect
of Enzo’s kiss would be unbearable.

The bottle spins, almost endlessly...then it slows
down...resting right in front the smiling face of Enzo!

The next scene unfolded almost endlessly. Enzo moves slowly
over to Lena’s side. He lifted her chin up and gazed into
her eyes. She waited in eternity with each bated breath. He slowly moved his lips closer to her, inhaling her sweet, fragrant breath. He moves a
couple more inches into what seemed like carnal oblivion. Then,
their lips touched --- warm and full of passion. They kissed
gently, like tasting love for the very first time. Lena felt
her body warm up and her whole being overwhelmed by his presence. She was
plunging deep into his consciousness, feeling through her own, every luscious contour of his lips. She kissed back with purpose and
he knew now that he had her under his spell, owning her completely, and she, giving back willingly.

TINAY
Kinikilig ako!!!!!

They let go. Reality and propriety caught up to them.

ENZO
Can we keep this to ourselves, guys?
I don’t want to upset Janna.

Enzo, walked away leaving Lena, dazed and confused. She was
unconsciously touching her lips.

PACO
How’s that for a first kiss?
