What are Sirens ? - in Greek Mythology they are winged seductresses that lure sailors into shipwrecks with their enchanting music and voices. Dangerous they may be to ancient sea-farers, they are not water dieties. Romans though, associate them more closely with the sea but Greeks consider them "daughters of the earth."

SUMMARY:

A whole island is mystified by finding an unconscious, almost lifeless, girl on their shores. A girl who holds a secret --- a secret to a dark past. What seems to be a grim fate will now give her a chance to start anew --- to make a new identity, a second chance in life. However, the lure of fortune beckons. Fate meddled and she will meet a young man that will make her see the world in a new light. Will she choose to give way to her heart’s desires or to betray the only person that loved her for who she really was?

LENA - She grew up in the harshest of environment. Tondo trained her to be tough and scrappy. With the guidance of her Kuya Pipo, she became one of Manila’s craftiest con artists. On the eve of their latest con job, something went horribly wrong. She and her Kuya Pipo crashed a private yacht party for a rich business tycoon. Lena was to crack open a safe when she was caught by an old businessman. On his attempt to take advantage of Lena he suffers a heart attack. Lena was left with a dead body and an unfinished job. This last break in was supposed to be their last job as she and her Kuya wanted to stay clean for so long. The rest of people on the yacht then discovers the plight of the old businessman and immediately thought that Lena murdered him. As she and her Kuya frantically escaped the boat, it suddenly exploded, separating Lena and Pipo.

She finds herself in a remote island being taken cared of by a rich couple, Don Ignacio and Dona Consuelo, the island’s patron couple. San Nicholas became a new home for Lena. Here she enjoys a fresh start and the love and the care of a family. The island people were intrigued by her beauty that she became the island’s favourite adoptee. To avoid being pried of her past, she pretends to have amnesia. The patron couple were so fond of Lena that they willingly took care of her. Having no daughter or granddaughters on their own, they enjoyed Lena’s bubbly and caring nature. Here she meets and befriends Tinay, the daughter of the mayordoma , who has a secret crush on Enzo, the couple’s favourite grandson.

ENZO – He grew up with all the conveniences in the world but he abhors the strict nature of his doctor parents. He goes to school in Manila and spends his summers on the island. The moment he saw Lena, he was intrigued by her. He saw her as a mystery, an intriguing character. He senses though that she was not telling the whole truth about her past. What begun as scepticism quickly turned into fondness and soon enough...LOVE. What complicates the matter though is his girlfriend Janna, whom he brought with him to the island and his childhood friend and son of the local doctor, Rafael, whom is enamored with Lena as well. And he too has a secret, one which once discovered by Lena, could tear them both apart.

Dear Readers,

This is my first attempt into a more serious classical theme. My first work, "Rain or Shine" dealt with trivial high school issues. Here it will be more of a grimmer, more mature take on young love. I recently got the urge to write again and this is what I came up with. I am using Sophocles screen writing software and is using standard hollywood script format. You may find format problems but please bare with me. I have problems converting the file to the more usable WORD. With most of the dialogues I used Tagalog, but the scenes are written in English.

I am in no way near finishing it, but I wanted to share parts that I have done already. I have the complete story in my head like a bubble ready to burst, it'll just be a matter of finding the time to finish it.

Some of the abbreviations used:

VO - indicates "voice over" meaning it is the character speaking but he may not be physically present on the scene (narrator) ; could also reflect thoughts of a character on screen.

OS - meaning off screen. The character is speaking from the background but is physically within the scene, the camera is not focused on him/her.

MOS or SOS - series of shots without dialogue. Can also mean a series of flashbacks.

SFX - sound effects

INT/EXT - indicates if a scene is external or internal, outdoors or indoors

FLASH TO/CUT TO/ DISSOLVE TO - how the shot is going to be executed.
