Lena and Rafael are lounging on the rocks. They are enjoying
each other’s company.

LENA
Ang galing mong umarte, ha?

RAFAEL
Did you see his face?

LENA
Oh my God, hindi ko nakita! Anong
itsura niya?

RAFAEL
Parang kaunti na lang, uumbagin niya na ako.

LENA
Talaga?

RAFAEL
Yup, I can feel it. I think he really
likes you.

LENA
Weeeee!!!

Lena hugs Rafael, the other is happy to oblige.

LENA
Salamat pala...

RAFAEL
Saan?

LENA
For being understanding...

RAFAEL
Anything I can do to help the girl
I love the most.

LENA
Sorry, if I hurt your feelings.
Alam mo naman siguro kung sino
talaga ang laman ng puso ko.

RAFAEL
Let’s get this straight.

LENA
Na ano?

RAFAEL
I’m not giving you up. I just want
you to explore your feelings for him.

LENA
Rafael...

RAFAEL
I’ll be okay, I’m tough. Just
promise me, if this thing with Enzo
won’t work out, all you have to do
is call me. I’ll be there for you,
anytime.

LENA
Alam mo, wala na akong makikilala pang
mas babait pa sa iyo.

RAFAEL
May agenda ako sa pagtulong ko sa
iyo, so hindi talaga ako mabait.
May pagka-opportunist pa nga ako,
di ba?

LENA
Alam mo, pasensya ka na ha? Tanga
lang kasi tong puso ko. If yung
feelings ng tao nadidiktahan ng
utak, ikaw talaga ang pipiliin ko.

RAFAEL
Hindi pa huli ang lahat Lena, all
you have to do is change your mind.

LENA
Rafael, sana huwag mo nang
pahirapan ang sarili mo. Kaya ko na tong mag-isa.

RAFAEL
No, I promised I’d help. Even if
it kills me, I’ll still do it.

LENA
Ano bang nakita mo sa akin?
Ordinaryong babae lang naman ako,
masama pa ang ugali ko. Di ako
mayaman, high school lang ang
natapos ko! Marami pang babae
diyan ang mas deserving na maging
girlfriend mo kesa sa akin.

RAFAEL
May problema kasi sa kanila, Lena.

LENA
Ano iyon?

RAFAEL
Hindi sila ikaw!

LENA
Ngeeekss, ayan ka na naman.

Rafael suddenly turns quiet. Lena splashes some water to
him in order to break his thoughts.

RAFAEL
Kiss me!

LENA
Ano? Bakit?

RAFAEL
They say you can tell if you are
meant to be with somebody with a kiss.

LENA
Ayan ka na naman. I told you di ba,
Rafael. We are just friends, okay?

RAFAEL
Are you not curious what it will be
like with me? Malay mo, ako pala
talaga ang taong para sa iyo. What
if my kiss will change your mind?

LENA
I’ll take my chances...

RAFAEL
Arrrggghhh! Shot through the heart!
Napakasakit nun, Lena!

LENA
Ikaw kasi, eh. Pilit ka ng pilit.

RAFAEL
Eto seryoso na. Kunwari si Enzo, ginawang palaka at
ang halik mo lang ang makakabalik
sa kanya sa pagiging prinsipe niya,
prepared ka bang humalik sa isang
libong palaka bago mo mahanap si Enzo?

LENA
Siguro...

RAFAEL
Then prove it...kiss me!

Rafael moves closer. Lena wasn’t prepared for it. She
closed her eyes. Slowly she felt his warm breath near her
upper lip. She tilted her head slightly to anticipate the
kiss. Rafael, seeing the signal, took the chance and kissed
her tenderly.

After a couple of heartbeats, they moved apart.

RAFAEL (CONTINUOUSLY)
Well?

LENA
Ano?

RAFAEL
Well? How was it?

LENA
It was...okay...

RAFAEL
Just okay?

LENA
Yup...

RAFAEL
Awww!!! That .

LENA
Sabi ko sa iyo, ba’t mo kasi
pinaparusahan ang sarili mo?

RAFAEL
Di bale, Lena. That means I'm just another frog. Someday...you’ll
learn to love me too.

LENA
Siguro balang araw...But for now, thanks for being
a friend...

RAFAEL
You’re welcome. Thanks pala for the
"friendly" kiss. Speaking of frogs,
alam mo bang takot na takot iyang
si Enzo sa palaka?

LENA
Talaga?

INT. LIVING ROOM - 10 P.M.

Lena tiptoes her way into the house. She doesn’t know Enzo
was watching her from the study.

ENZO
HOY!!!!

LENA
Ay, puwet ng kabayong maitim!!!

ENZO
Anong oras na?!!! Alas diyes na
nang gabi ah!!!

LENA
Eh ano naman ngayong kung alas
Diyes na nang gabi?!!

ENZO
Anong ginawa niyo ni Rafael, ha?!
Ang aga niyong umalis tapos gabi na
kayo kung dumating? Sabihin mo nga
Lena, uwi ba ito ng desenteng babae!!!

LENA
Hoy mister! Sandali lang, sino ang
tinatawag mong pakawalang babae?!!!

ENZO
May iba pa bang babae dito?!!!

LENA
Hoy,hoy,hoy! Kaya kami natagalan
ay dahil tumulong kami doon sa
klinika ni Doc Daddy! Madami kasi
ang pasyente niya kaya ginabi ako!
Ang dumi talaga ng isip mo!

ENZO
Doc Daddy?!!!

LENA
Yung tatay ni Rafael! Yung duktor!
Yung ninong mo?!!!

ENZO
"Doc Daddy" na ang tawag mo sa kanya?!
eh, hindi ka naman niya anak?!! Basta,
pinagsabihan na kita noon. Ayaw na
kitang ginagabi sa laot! Delikado!
Mula ngayon umuwi ka na dito
pagkatuntong ng alas sais.

LENA
Ano kita, tatay? Eh bakit, kasama
ko naman si Rafael, ah! Safe naman
siyang kasama, ah!

ENZO
Lalong-lalo na pagakasama mo si
Rafael! Hindi mo siya kilala gaya
ng pagkakakilala ko sa kanya!

LENA
Hoy mister, kaya kong idepensa ang sarili ko!!!
Magtangka man yang si Rafael, na
alam kong hinding-hindi niya
gagawin, kayang-kaya ko ang sarili ko!

ENZO
Ah basta! Madami pa ding lasing sa daan!
Ayaw na kitang makitang ginagabi, naintindihan mo?
Responsibilidad ka namin dito sa
bahay! Isipin mo iyan!

LENA
Ewan ko sa iyo! Sina Lolo at Lola
nga walang problema, alam naman
nilang kasama ko si Rafael!

ENZO
Basta nga sabi eh! That’s an order.
Kung hindi, ikakandado kita kung
hindi ka sumunod.

LENA
Subukan mo, isusumbong kita sa
pulis ng harrasment!

ENZO
Alam mo, napaka-sungit mo na,
napakatigas pa ng ulo mo!

LENA
Ikaw naman, napaka-unreasonable mo.
Gusto mo ikaw lang palagi ang
nasusunod.

ENZO
Damn right! Dapat ako ang nasusunod
kasi ako ang mas nakakatanda sa iyo.

LENA
Hindi kita, Tatay! At hindi kita,
boyfriend. Kaya wala kang
karapatang pag-bawalan ako!

ENZO
Arrrgggghh!!! Go up to your room!!!!
Now!!!

Suddenly, one of the doors opened! It was PACO --- half-asleep!

PACO
Ano ba? Magpatulog naman kayo!
Can’t you two just kiss and get it
over with?

Paco closes the door. This leaves Lena and Enzo, breathing
heavily, ready to pounce anytime.

LENA
Napaka-diktador mo pala! Kaya naman
pala ganyan ang girlfriend mo.
Parang tuta!

ENZO
Pasalamat ka at hindi ako ang
naging boyfriend mo, kasi kung ako
iyon, itatali kita talaga sa poste
nang gumana naman iyang utak mo,
hindi lang iyang bunganga mo!

LENA
Diktador ka pa rin! Opo na, kamahalan, aakyat na po ako!

ENZO
Remember what I said about your 6
pm, curfew! I’m serious Lena, don’t
test me!!!

Lena gave him one more sharp, venomous look and stomped her
way up the stairs. Enzo went the other way, slamming the
study door behind him and frustratingly, slumping himself
down on the couch.

INT. ENZO’S BATHROOM - A FEW HOURS LATER

Enzo came in the washroom still fuming from his encounter
with Lena. He opened the faucet. He looked at his reflection
on the mirror. He was quite pleased with what he saw. He flexed his muscles a little bit. He then
splashed some water into his face. That was the most
refreshing thing in the world, it seemed to ease his anger a little bit.

All of a sudden he hears a slight movement within the washroom.

Enzo turns around, wondering where it was coming from.
The sounds became more prominent. Now, It was more of a
tapping movement,getting louder and louder. Enzo’s heart
started to race...

He moved closer to the tub and the john and the sound became clearer. Enzo knew now that it was coming from
within the toilet. The lid was starting to flutter, as if
something from inside is trying to get out.

Enzo slowly moved in. He held onto the top of the toilet
seat. The tapping sound from inside stopped. With utmost
courage he slowly lifted the toilet seat up. Enzo’s eyes
widened, almost fainting with what he saw...

ENZO
AAAAAArrrrrrgghhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!

Inside the toilet was a trio of big, fat, warty and now slightly
annoyed TOADS!!!

CUT TO:

INT. LENA’S BEDROOM - SAME TIME

Lena was on her bed when she heard Enzo shout. It was music
to her ears.

LENA
Buti nga sa iyo! Ang yabang mo kasi!

She heard him still screaming and scurrying to and from the
washroom. Lena just rolled over and enjoyed her good night
sleep!
