The gentle crackling of the intrepid fire brings a sudden
calmness to Enzo. He was struggling to understand the
amplitude of his behavior. The water gently rushing into the
shore, the regularity of it, seems to help ease his bothered
soul. Yet despite of his present state, thoughts of Lena
still permeate his mind.

Enzo downs his second bottle of beer. He scribbles
something into his trusty journal.

ENZO (VO)
(voicing over what he
is writing)
Times like these I always found
comfort and solace in my loneliness.
He has been a good friend to my
rather plagued existence. But
tonight, I felt a much deeper
connection to another person than I
have ever felt in my whole life.
Her thoughts invade mine, spreading
like wildfire into my own
consciousness. She remains there,
taking roots into my feeble mind,
slowly taking over, until thy last
breath will be hers to take...Who
is she? Like a siren she lures me
into the rocks. Will she be the
death of me? Pleasantly, unwillingly,
I will submit thyself to thee...

Enzo looks up into the fire. His mind has never been
clearer. He smiles.

EXT. MANSION’S GARDENS - NIGHTTIME - CONTINUOUS

Enzo had more than enough bottles of beer to drink. As he
heads back to the house, by the garden a figure slowly moved
towards him.

JANNA
Sorry...

Enzo does not respond. He looks down on the ground. He felt
guilty that to this point, this is the only time Janna have
ever entered his mind tonight.

Janna moves in to hug him. He felt his hand come up and
reciprocate the love she was giving him. Slowly, he held
her close.

CUT TO:

INT. LENA’S BEDROOM - SAME TIME

From her window, Lena witnessed what transpired below. She
felt like her heart was being squeezed out of its very life
seeing them together. The more she looked the more she felt
that she was invading a private moment and that she was not
a part of it. Being the mere spectator leaves her cold and
lonely.

She draws back the curtains and walks away.

CUT TO:

EXT. MANSION GARDENS - SAME TIME

Enzo slowly lets Janna go.

JANNA
Sorry na. I didn’t know why I said it.

ENZO
No, it was my fault. I didn’t know
what came over me. Medyo uminit
lang ang ulo ko kaagad.

JANNA
I got really scared, Enzo. Di pa
kita nakitang nagalit ng ganuon.

ENZO
Pagod lang siguro ako.

JANNA
I really didn‘t mean it, sweetie. I
was just not myself tonight. I was
really trying too hard to impress
your Lolo at Lola. I felt left out,
maybe that is why I said it...sorry
talaga...

ENZO
No, it‘s okay. Lolo and Lola likes
you. I know it. Hindi lang kasi
sila showy.

JANNA
Because of what happened tonight, I
guess they never will.

ENZO
Don‘t blame yourself. Ako my
kasalanan. Besides, what is there
not to like about you?

JANNA
Marami. Maarte, taklesa, pangit
ang ugali...

ENZO
Besides those!

JANNA
Urrrggh! Kainis ka! Naiiyak na nga
ang tao eh.

ENZO
Hey, it was a joke! I’m pretty sure
they will like you.

JANNA
Pa-hug nga naman uli.

Enzo hugs her and gave her a little bit more squeeze. For a
moment he sees Lena‘s face but he squeezes his eyes shut but
the image became more vivid.

ENZO
I promise it’ll never happen again.

JANNA
As long as may hug at the end of it.
I don’t mind it happening again.

ENZO
Masochista!

JANNA
This is my place, Enzo. In your arms...

Enzo kisses her on the forehead. Then he gives her a slight
peck on the lips. She then rested her head on his chest. He
gazes into the night sky. He sees a falling star blazing
accross the dark backdrop of the heavens.

ENZO
Make a wish...

JANNA
I wish you will never let me go.
What did you wish for?

ENZO
Sana pakawalan mo na ako! I can’t
breathe any longer! Ha ha ha.

JANNA
Ah ganon ha? Hindi talaga kita
bibitawan.

Janna continues to hug Enzo. He tries to run away but she
was determined not to let go.

EXT. DARKLY LIT PATHWAY TO GARDENS - CONTINUOUS

Little did Enzo and Janna notice, Lola Consuelo, Aling Minda
and Tinay observing them from one side.

TINAY
Ano ba yan? Ang sagwa.

MINDA
Ay tingnan mo ang babae uy, haliparot!

DONA CONSUELO
Ganon na ba ang mga kabataan ngayon?
Masyadong agresibo?

TINAY
Naku senyora. No! Hindi po ako ganon.

MINDA
Subukan mong magagaganyan ka sa mga
lalake at babaliin ko yang mga paa
mo nang hindi ka na maka-lakwatsa.
Subukan mo laang...

TINAY
Sabi ko nga hindi ako ganon no.
She is so, so, so, cheap!

DONA CONSUELO
Hindi ko hahayaang mapunta ang apo
ko sa ganyang klaseng babae!

TINAY
Tama kayo diyan lola. Ang dapat kay
Enzo ay yung simple lang, maganda,
mabait...
(ing herself forward)
ehem, ehem.

DONA CONSUELO
May ubo ka?

TINAY
(yamot)
Wala ho!
