“It’s too soon” the younger jung shook her head continuously and she tightened her grip on the arm of the chair. She was in utter disbelief to be hearing this from her sister. She couldn’t wrap her mind on what her sister is telling her now. Her best friend just died and how can she just say that.

“We only have twelve hours and after this and... its gone”

Krystal was in Jessica’s office. The older jung just informed Krystal that Tom was a volunteer donor. This brought upon an idea to Jessica to harvest the cornea from him. She has this cold-hard exterior as if she was speaking just about another patient.

“This is our only chance, Krys. You understand how hard it is to find a donor for this kind” Jessica continued as she stared at her distressed sister. She then heavily sighed and sat beside her sister to put her in her grasp.

“I know it’s been hard on you and I wasn’t there all the time. I’m sorry. But this chance could help another person and we have to make this situation as best as we can” Jessica then kissed the top of her sister’s head and hug her tighter before breaking away.

“I have to go and inform his parents about this” Jessica said and walked towards her door.

When Jessica had reached the empty corner of the hospital, that was when she let her tears fall. She was trying her best to hold herself together for her sister. If she starts to break, then once again she will find herself missing another person that she holds dear. She quickly wiped her tears away as she heard footsteps nearing her.

“Jess” it came out like a soft whisper when Yuri called on to her. She could feel her heart getting pierced once again. She just saw her shed another tear to another she lost.

“I have to go. I still have to talk to Tom’s parents” Jessica said without looking at the brunette and walked away leaving her alone in the hallway. Yuri was frozen in her spot as she was about to put the other around her arms. To tell her that everything was going to be alright but that doesn’t seem to be the case since once again she had walked away from her or she wasn’t too quick on to her actions.

Jessica was carefully unwrapping the bandage on Jeno’s eyes.  Jeno was trying his best to control his breathing. It was the most crucial moment. They would find out if he could able to see. Even though the operation was successful but the results could determine the opposite.

Krystal was standing at the corner, biting her nails. She wanted to just cut through the bandage herself and since it was becoming a nerve wracking process to just watching her sister remove the bandage slowly. She could swear that her sister was doing it on purpose to see if they could withstand the long process. The loud thumping of her heart could compete with the drumroll that she had playing in her mind.

“The excitement is excruciating” Someone finally said. Their attention was then shifted to the brunette on the other side who was walking back and forth of the room. Jeno chuckled which had also released the tension building inside him.

“Believe me, its not just you” Victoria replied as she wiped the cold sweat building on her forehead.

Everyone was present at the room of the younger boy. They have grown close to the boy as they have been introduced. They dubbed him as “Krystal’s son.” Unfortunately, Tom’s parents declined the idea of donating their son’s eyes, revoking his donor claim. Which brought to the older jung’s disappointment however Yuri made some arrangement with her family that she hadn’t been contact with that enabled her to place the name of the boy on top of the priority list on the donor’s list.

On the other hand, Krystal was still devastated for weeks but Yiyun was there to comfort the younger girl. Yiyun helped her move on but it was more like her feelings for the timekeeper had became more apparent. To the first two weeks. The younger girl was stuck in her apartment, locking herself in her room. Jeno was lucky enough to see the girl during meal time but after that he would hear her cry in her room.

Yiyun then made up a plan with Kibum to help the younger girl move on. It was difficult at first, having the stubborn personality of the younger girl though she made it possible. Krystal found herself in a restaurant on her own.

“No. no. no” She kept repeating on saying, like a mantra to fight off a demon.

“Yep” Yiyun had this toothy grin on while nodding her head. “I did some research while you were on your depression mode. I found out that going on a restaurant and having a meal by yourself could help” She continued wagging her eyebrows upwards.

Krystal squinted her eyes in confusion “THIS. Doesn’t make me feel any better” she pointed at her situation.

“It might be at first but you just have to try it and if it doesn’t work we’ll move down to the list” Yiyun replied trying to keep the younger girl to calm down before she gets caught talking by herself.

“How long is this list exactly?”

“Long enough”

“I don’t even know what to order. Tom always does it for me, he knows what I want” Krystal sighed and tossed the menu to the other side of the table.

“Nope. You know what you want. Now stop thinking about him and order your own food. I’ll come by after” Yiyun replied before dispersing into thin.

It was a rather weird idea. But after eating alone it did made the younger girl feel a bit relieve. Rather, it felt like she could do things on her own without having Tom with her. Yiyun on the other hand was just across the restaurant watching the younger girl eat on her own. She actually made a list of things that she had collected as a data she had with the two. She made in account of the things that would make Krystal remember Tom and made it possible to change this memories to a new one to help her move on.

Days had passed and they had been doing other strange things together that helped the younger girl move on and it helped her a lot than she thought. They went to this secluded area of a resort in Jeju island. The younger girl was supposed to be there alone to have some alone and peaceful time with herself but she caught Yiyun stalking her when she went on a dip in the beach.

“I-I just wanted to check on you” Yiyun quickly reasoned, her eyes were travelling on the body of the younger girl. She was just wearing a black bikini, exposing too much skin that Yiyun was used to. She was used to the lab coat and pants or short skirt that would reveal the long milky legs of the younger girl that from time to time she would caught herself wanting to touch it and the short haired girl couldn’t help but stare at sight.

“I knew you were around” Krystal proclaimed as she reached to her towel to dry herself with.

“Yea-yeah. How could I not this place is...beautiful” Yiyun replied and quickly shook her head to get all the tainted ideas she has for the younger girl away.

“I’m glad though cause now I have someone to spend this day with” Krystal replied with a smile.

They spent the whole day together which was not part of the plan. Yiyun would give this unusual glare to the men that would go near the younger girl even though she knew fully well that they couldn’t see it. She would stand up in front of the younger girl to stop the man from going any nearer but only to have him go through her. She would try to pry him off which only result on gaining a heartily chuckle from the younger girl.  

Their endeavour continued as they go down to the made up list of the timekeeper. Like going to a church. Krystal wasn’t the religious type but Tom was. He would beg the girl to go with him from time to time. The younger girl found herself attending the mass saying the Our Father  her hand was held by no one if seen by others but for her the timekeeper had her hand intertwined with hers. The short haired girl would steal a glance at the latter but would be caught and would tighten her grip on the short haired girl, telling her to focus on praying.

Krystal had to keep a straight face when she heard Yiyun saying her grace loudly to god “To the guy up there, I want to thank you for everything. Thank you for giving me this awesome power and also thank you for giving me a chance to meet Krystal” Krystal then shifted her attention to the timekeeper and was also battling the blush that appeared on her face and continued to listen on the older girl “She might be cruel at times, like earlier she almost squashed my hand with her incredible strength that is hiding within her small structure which doesn’t simply explain how she could have all those in her but she also has this quirky moments that makes you smile. If I hadn’t met her I think I wouldn’t be able to go through this whole venture successfully. She had gone through a lot actually and I’ve always wanted to ask why? but then again they always told me that work in weird ways and I figured out why. So I want to say thank you for making her and thank you for everything, Amen.” Yiyun then quickly took a peek at the younger girl only to find her unchanged straight face and then stood up from her kneeling position.

A few weeks after Krystal was able to happily talk about her memories with Tom which also reminded her of the time she spent with the timekeeper. It was a happy memory. She then suddenly received a message that they had finally found a donor for Jeno. That was when she noticed the sudden change by the timekeeper. It felt like Yiyun was closing in on her. It felt like she was trying to say goodbye. If she didn’t knew any better.

“Are you here to pick me up?” Yiyun said as she felt someone appear beside her and then chuckled

“Yes”

“My time is finally up”

“You should rather think that you had fulfilled your purpose don’t think. It’s better that way”

“Why now?” Yiyun asked “Now that I have finally figured it out why would you take me away from...this”

“Well, we all have our limit and this is yours. You helped enough and settled everything”

“No not everything” She shook her head in disagreement

“Believe it or not, Yiyun. You have”

“How about her?”

“We have something else for her and she just have to be patient”

“Will she be alright?”

“I believe so”

Yiyun then took one last look at the younger girl. She was at looking at her through the window of her brother’s hospital room. She could hear the loud cheers of the people inside the room and she could see Krystal smile happily as the results revealed to be successful.

Jeno was blinking repeatedly, trying to make sure he wasn’t dreaming. He was crying for joy and quickly hugged the two jungs that helped him through everything. Yiyun smiled at the scene, she hoped she could be there. But now she was slowly fading.

“Yiyun?”

“Yiyun?!” Krystal yelled, looking for the timekeeper. She was so happy and wanted to tell the timekeeper about Jeno’s results.

Krystal quickly remembered the necklace that the timekeeper gave her. The tiny sparkling hourglass. She gave it a quick turn and said the name of the timekeeper out loud but disappointed at the results.

She gave it another try but nothing happened. She then thought maybe the timekeeper was busy. She then went through her schedule checking some patients and went to visit Jeno once again for the last time before turning in.

As she entered her apartment, she then called on to the older girl but only to be answered by silence. She then sighed and went to room. The necklace had always worked she thought. She remembered that she used it to get Yiyun to do things for her. She would use to have the older girl get her some ice cream in the of the night. But it seems to be that Yiyun had figured out that she would just have another banter with her, she thought.

“She’ll show up later” She said to herself before changing her clothes.

After changing she then noticed a note on her night stand. That was the piece of paper that Yiyun always had with her. It was her checklist. The one she always use to refer on the “move on” project she had for the younger girl. It was weird because the older girl always brought it with her but now it was laying in the open.

She took the paper and saw the crossed off words. It was the ones that they had already finished doing. She couldn’t help but laugh when she remembered the things they did. There was that one time when the short haired girl was teaching her to drive a car. She was used to having Tom driving her around but now that he wasn’t there anymore she had to figure out how to do it herself. She remembered clearly how she almost drove over the timekeeper and laughed at the quick reaction of the latter, who scurried away. Driving lessons by Yiyun was fun, she noted. She couldn’t help but blush when she remembered the hand of the short haired girl was on top of hers, teaching her how to use the gear stick. Or how Yiyun re-enacted a scene in the movies for fun. Which surprised the younger girl. Yiyun reached for the  seatbelt of the younger girl and locked for her. Their faces were close enough that she could feel the warm breath of the latter. She couldn’t help but stare on the lips of the older girl and gulp.

Krystal then laughed at her reaction after because she was so embarrassed. She then moved down the list and the last one wasn’t checked off.

Fall in love with someone. She read out loud and shook her head and bit her lower lip at the idea that popped in her mind. Since she already fell in love with someone.
