Kai’s P.O.V

I felt my shirt beginning to fell damp, and I realised it was because D.O was crying. I broke my hold and cupped his face in my hands looking directly into his swollen red eyes, I was about to speak when he took my hands off his face making me a little bit stunned. My heart cracked as I heard D.O say “Kai…. Thank you...but I don’t want to be a burden to you”. “D.O you are not a burden?”  I sighed. “Kai you don’t know how long I’ve been wanting someone to care for me and even just acknowledge me……but I can’t risk you losing your popularity at school because of me…and please don’t think of this in a bad way….i hope we can still be friends?”. “Fine D.O, I’m not going to push you, but remember this…I have this feeling that I’m meant to be there for you, so don’ think I’ll sit back and ignore you” I replied sounding annoyed. “Kai…just don’t…please…let’s just be friends and hang out when we have our tutoring sessions” he said before he stood up and began making his way out.  The words “let’s just be friends” made me freeze, because deep down I knew I couldn’t.  Just as I was I was about to call his name I had realised he left….so I ran out of the library and saw him walking away from the campus dorms. I decided to quietly follow him and see where he’s going.

D.O’s P.O.V

“Kai…just don’t…please…let’s just be friends and hang out when we have our tutoring sessions” I said, though it hurt like hell too. I couldn’t bear the thought of Kai getting picked on and bullied just for wanting to help me. I wanted to be with him but I knew this was for the best.

After saying what’d needed to be said I stood up, left the library and began making my way to work. As I walked into SM restaurant I was suddenly greeted my Mr.Kim or a.k.a Heechul. “Ahhh D.O why are you here so early…you don’t start for another half an hour…you know I cannot let you start early for extra pay because of-“he stopped talking when he noticed someone looking our way from the front door. “D.O I think you’re being followed” Heechul said as he spun me around to face the person who had been following me and to my surprise it was Kai?

Kai’s P.O.V

I was quietly following to see where he’d be going at this time at night. It was then I saw D.O arriving at SM restaurant. I made my way to the front door and saw D.O speaking with an older man, who looked like the manager of the restaurant. I could barely make out what the older man was saying to D.O  but the only thing I managed to overhear was “you don’t start for another half an hour…you know I cannot let you start early for extra pay because of-“, he stopped what he was saying when I realised he had spotted me watching them from afar. Moreover before I could turn around and run, I looked back to see D.O walking closer to me curiously saying “K-Kai is that you?”
