Kai’s P.O.V

Just as D.O had come back, we sat down and I thought I might as well have begun thinking of how to indirectly ask D.O, why D.O needed extra money when he swiftlyasked me what I wanted to eat. “Hmmmm I don’t know what’s good here, so you choose for me ……..oh but nothing heavy as I have eat light being a swimmer and all” I chuckled when he got up to go order. It hadn’t been until he had come back that it had clicked to me that D.O had been eating light as well since he was once a swimmer as well. “D.O why did you give up swimming?” I abruptly asked without thinking, he looked up at me nervously and said “honestly… because I don’t have the time for it, you try working long hours to pay for rent at a hostel where you could afford it, study and eat as well”. At that moment our food at also arrived.

“Ahh I see….i don’t know what I’d do without swimming” I replied honestly, I look up at D.O who raised his eyebrow in confusion as to momentarily trying to figure out why ,so I continued by saying “it gives me a sense of relief and peace”. He looked at me whilst nodding his head in agreement. It was then it had occurred to me that he had said he lived in a hostel? I thought everyone who went to SM High was given a dorm to stay in, and without thinking, I blurted out “w-wait you live in a hostel?” sounding shocked.

D.O’s P.O.V

“W-wait you live in a hostel?” Kai abruptly asked me. ! It was then I realised that I had accidentally told him I lived in a hostel; I wasn’t supposed to let anyone know that SM High wasn’t assigning me a dorm since I still owe the school money from my enrolment fees. So I decided to lie to Kai by saying “haha...yes I live in a hostel…it’s simply because the dorms were full” half-heartedly. So being in debt, the school made the arrangements to not give me a dorm, therefore if I wanted to continue to study here. I was waiting for Kai response, but it took him time to respond with a simple “O-oh ok”(o.O?) as he still seemed briefly confused by my predicament.

“Hey Kai I’m sorry, but I’m seriously curious to know as to how you obtained the knowledge of me real name?” I said whilst taking a bit of grilled chicken salad, also thinking to start of my list of questions for him comfortably. On the instant I asked him, he let out a little laugh before continuing on to say “ Oh yea the reason I know your real name as basically everyone’s  is because though I may seem popular and all I do my bit to help the teachers stay organised at school, and coincidentally Mrs. Song Qian (aka Victoria) asked me to arrange to student files one day haha”. Therefore for understanding his conclusion all I managed to respond was with an ‘o’ shape including a simple bitingly little comment along the lines of “hmm and everybody seems to think I’m the teacher’s pet, though I’ve never actually helped a teacher”.

“Yea I can imagine. I can see that you may be studious but outside of school you are more of a rebel than I am”  I heard Kai snicker to himself. Furthermore I couldn’t help but start laughing hysterically when I managed to startle Kai by unexpectedly jumping up from my chair and hollered “WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY KIM JONGIN?!”
