Danny sighs into his pillow as he lazily opens his eyes and turned to lay on his back. It was Sunday morning, the sunday before school. Danny still couldn't believe that he'd start his last yeat of high school tomorrow. It feels like only yesterday he was this little freshmen who was overwhelmed by the size and now he feels like the school should add another hall or two. It would also be the first time going back since Daehyun left. Danny glanced at the cracked mirror hanging on his closet door. That was the result after Danny found out. It was the middle of the summer and Danny noticed Daehyun was getting distant. He'd go whole days without seeing or hearing from him, which was confusing seeing as they spent every waking moment together. Then, one night, Daehyun showed up and wanted to sleep over. Danny thought he wanted to try to have again but Daehyun insisted he just wanted to sleep. That whole night Daehyun had Danny in his arms, sending him kisses all over his upper body and whispering how much he loved him. That's when Danny noticed he was crying. He wouldn't say why, so Danny just let it go and went to sleep. When he woke up, Daehyun was gone but there was a letter on his pillow. It said that Daehyun's parents got stationed in Florida and were leaving that morning. It also said how Daehyun hated saying goodbye and apologized for not telling him in person. At first, Danny was in denial. He must've called Daehyun's house phone at least a thousand times before takin the bus all the way to his house. It wasn't until he saw the for sale sign on the lawn when it finally hit him he was gone. When Danny came back home, he ripped the paper into a million pieces and cried. He cried for days and days, not listening to anything his parents or Brooke had to say. Even now he was still getting accepting that Daehyun was gone, but at least the crying stopped. He heard noises in the kitchen and assumed his parents were up. When he walked out of his room he jumped back in surprise.
"Bang!" He cried, feeling very uncomfortable in his underwear as his neighbor just stood there drinking his orange joice out of the carton. "What are you doing here? And could you please grab a cup?" Bang rolled his eyes and grabbed a cup.
"We're out of juice so I used the key under the rug," He explained. "Nice underwear."
"Get. Out."
"Why? I was thinking we should hang out."
"That's never going to happen, Bang?"
"Why not? We could play Halo?" He offered. Danny was feeling himself getting more and more irritated.
"You fought my boyfriend in front of the entire school!"
"I thought he wasn't your boyfriend anymore?" Bang asked. Danny stared at him with no emotion, making his smile disappear. "Ok, I'm sorry, but what do I got to do to prove that I am?"
"You could not contaminate my favorite orange juice with your DNA," he replied. "And you can leave." Bang sighed and put the juice on the counter.
"Fine, I'm going." He said, throwing his hands in defeat. "But you should come to Himchan's party tonight."
"I've never been to any of Himchan's parties, what makes you think I'd go now?"
"Because it's in honor of my return."
"Then I will especially turn down the offer," Danny mumbled. Bang huffed out and walked out the front door, just as Brooke walked in. She pointed in Bang's direction.
"Was that-"
"Don't ask." Danny said. He grabbed the carton of orange juice and groaned when he realized there wasn't even enough for half a cup.
"When did he get back?" Brooke asked, putting her stuff down on the counter.
"Don't care," He replied. "What do you have there?"
"Our applications to Stanford!" She squealed. Ever since they became friends Danny and Brooke have always dreamed of going to Stanford for medical school.
"I hope we get in," Danny said.
"We WILL get in," Brooke replied. "We need to start putting a positive attitude into the atmosphere."
"How am I supposed to do that when I don't have any orange jucie?"
"Oh my goodness, quit your in' I'll take you to go get some after we fill these out."
"Deal." He said, pulling up two chair.
"Hey, Danny. Guess what?" Brooke asked. He sighed loudly.
"What?"
"Tomorrow we're offically seniors."
