After Tessa’s birthday, Minkyu thought it would be a good idea and watch Beauty and the Beast. She hasn’t seen the movie in a while so it was good for her.

 

“I wonder, if Heechul and I had a ‘Beauty and the Beast’ story…” Minkyu thought out loud but then realized how ridiculous that sounded, “Snap out of it Minkyu, that’s ridiculous… plus Heechul would claim he’s the ‘Beauty’ but he’s really the Beast”

 

“I resent that!” came a familiar voice from the air vents

 

“Heechul, hasn’t Teukie-oppa told you about the dangers of air vent travel?” Minkyu bluntly said

 

“Yes but luckily there was a mirror near by” Heechul smirked while taking a seat next to Minkyu on the couch

 

“Yep, you are the beauty” Minkyu mumbled

 

“That makes you the beast” Heechul replied and that earned him a smack upside the head

“Any of you guys have noticed Minkyu’s been watching Beauty and the Beast lately?” Jenny asked the other members

 

“Yep, Heechul snuck in here yesterday and watched it with her” Sohee commented

 

Tessa put on a thinking face but nobody seemed to notice it.

 

“Her birthday’s coming up… so what should we do?” Mika asked

 

“We need something big for the eldest’s birthday” Koro thought

 

“Guys I have an idea”

 

“Not now Tessa, we’re trying to think of a cool thing to do for Minkyu’s birthday” Lani brushed her off and Tessa just pouted in response

 

“Pool party?” Sohee suggested

 

“I’d rather not… we all know what happened at our last pool party” Jinyo shot down

 

“I have…”

 

“Bar?” Lola pitched out

 

“Half of us are underage” Koro replied

 

“Guys…”

 

“Stay here and just get presents and a cake on our own?” Jenny suggested

 

“SHUT THE UP AND LISTEN TO MY ING IDEA!!!!!”

 

“Sheesh Tessa, you didn’t have to yell…” Tiffannii started

 

“You could have just pitched the idea” Lola added

 

Tessa facepalmed, “Ok, here’s my idea…”

A few days have passed, and today is Minkyu’s birthday. Koro decided to do the water bucket prank. You know, start a new tradition in SMILE.

 

Right when she was about to pour the water… “Don’t even think about it” Minkyu said half asleep

 

“Unni” Koro said a little weary, “This is for your own good”

 

“So is that” Minkyu said as she saw Lani, Sohee, Jinyo, and Tiffannii behind her with a huge bucket of water.

 

By the time she noticed, it was too late. “Really?! Twice in one week!” Koro shouted

 

“You were the first one with this idea, Koro” Lani laughed

 

“Happy birthday Minkyu-unni” Sohee cheerfully said

 

“Now then, come with us” Jinyo said with a smirk

 

‘I have a bad feeling about this…’  Minkyu thought

The girls lead Minkyu to an abandoned warehouse. Minkyu’s suspicions of something weird were right.

 

“Don’t worry, we’re not leaving you behind” Lani started

 

“Good, because if you did leave me behind…” Minkyu shot Lani a glare

 

At that time, music started playing which left Minkyu a little confused.

 

Lola popped out of nowhere and started speaking, “Ma chere Mademoiselle, it is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure that we welcome you tonight”

 

Mika joined in saying, “And now we invite you to relax, let us pull up a chair and as the dining room proudly presents”

 

The lights went on over at a big table and Lola and Mika sat Minkyu in a chair and continued together, “Your dinner~”

 

Minkyu looked over at the girl on the table and she looked like she was a SNSD member… but then she realized it was Tessa.

 

 

 

 

“Be our guest! Be our guest!
Put our service to the test
Tie your napkin 'round your neck, cherie
And we'll provide the rest” Tessa started to sing and dance along with the music and Minkyu was still iffy about the whole thing
 

“Soup du jour, Hot hors d'oeuvres
Why, we only live to serve
Try the grey stuff, It’s delicious!

Don’t believe me? Ask the dishes”

 

‘Tessa should really do Broadway’  Minkyu thought as she watched her perform

 

“They can sing, they can dance
After all, Miss, this is France
And a dinner here is never second best” Tessa performed and the rest were entertained by it

 

“Go on, unfold your menu
Take a glance and then you'll
Be our guest
Oui, our guest
Be our guest!” Tessa sang doing a few kicks, like she would in a kick line

 

“Beef ragout, Cheese soufflé
Pie and pudding "en flambé"
We'll prepare and serve with flair
A culinary cabaret!
You're alone and you're scared
But the banquet's all prepared
No one's gloomy or complaining
While the flatware's entertaining
We tell jokes! I do tricks (Tessa drops her cane, but smiles as she sings)
With my fellow candlesticks
And it's all in perfect taste

If you're stressed
It's fine dining we suggest

Be our guest!” Tessa hopped off the table (surprisingly kept her balance) and went over to Jinyo

 

Jinyo just shot Tessa a look while she was singing this part, “Life is so unnerving
For a servant who's not serving
He's not whole without a soul to wait upon
Ah, those good old days when we were useful...
Suddenly those good old days are gone
Ten years we've been rusting
Needing so much more than dusting
Needing exercise, a chance to use our skills!
Most days we just lay around the castle
Flabby, fat and lazy
You walked in and oops-a-daisy!” Tessa ran off to an unknown location while Jenny took over the singing

Sakes alive, well I'll be blessed!
Wine's been poured and thank the Lord
I've had the napkins freshly pressed
With dessert, She'll want tea
And my dear that's fine with me
While the cups do their soft-shoein'
I'll be bubbling, I'll be brewing

Heaven's sakes! Is that a spot? (Jenny looked over at a spot on her dress)
Clean it up! We want the company impressed

We've got a lot to do!
Is it one lump or two?

(She's our guest!)” Jenny sang while the others took over for this part

 

“Be our guest! Be our guest!

It's been years since we've had anybody here

We'll keep going” the girls sang as Tessa got to a stage at the end of the room

 

“Course by course (with a kick on each major beat) One by one

'Til you shout, "Enough! I'm done!"
Then we'll sing you off to sleep as you digest
Tonight you'll prop your feet up
But for now, let's eat up
Be our guest! Be our guest!
Be our guest! Please, be our guest!” Tessa hit the ending with a powerful, but cute, pose

 

The girls applauded her for her performance and Minkyu was more than impressed by Jenny and Tessa’s performance.

 

“Tessa, how did you manage to dance like that in heels?” Minkyu asked

 

“It takes practice,” Tessa answered, “And happy birthday, Minkyu”

 

“Thanks guys,” Minkyu smiled, “Now let’s eat!”

After they ate, the girls lead Minkyu to an empty room. But then left before she said a word…

 

“What the hell is up with those guys?” Minkyu thought out loud

 

“I don’t know, but they do come up with great plans”

 

Minkyu turned around and found Heechul standing there. “May I ask why you’re here?”

 

“I’m here to celebrate your birthday, silly” Heechul replied with a smile

 

Right then, music started to play. Heechul, being the gentleman he was, offered his hand. “Care to dance?”

 

Minkyu stared at his hand for a moment, “I would love to” she smiled as she took his hand and they began to dance.

 

“Happy birthday, Minkyu” Heechul said as he looked into her eyes

 

“Thank you” Minkyu smiled

 

He didn’t know when he did it, or why, but he leaned in and kissed her…

Me: *stares at the phone* you could say good-bye you know!
