My eyes slowly fluttered open as I looked around my surroundings. The hospital, the white light is blinding. There was something warm at my bedside, I shifted my head round and looked down, and there was Kyuhyun.

My hand reached out meekly and touched his hair, it was so soft. I smiled to myself and just then Kyuhyun woke up.

“I’m sorry, did I wake you up?” I whispered.

Kyuhyun opened his eyes and blinked a few times before looking at me.

“Hey baby, how are you feeling? Much better?” He said anxiously.

I nodded, hands reaching out to him. “Come here.” I asked, more like a plead.

He moved closer. My hands reached out for his face as he lay next to me. “This face, I was so frightened I won’t ever get to see this face again. I was so afraid that you will completely disappear from my memory. Oh Kyu.” I started to sob.

He moved even closer, hugging me in the process. “Oh baby, I’m here. I’m here right now. Nobody is going to hurt you. I won’t let anyone hurt you alright? Please don’t cry. I’ll be here, by your side.”

I buried my face at the neck of Kyuhyun, breathing in his scent. This episode with Da Jin really scared the hell out of me, and to escape death like this was just overwhelming. My hands went round his neck and brought him closer to me. “I missed you so much. So much.” I choked.

Kyuhyun squeezed me tight, “Me too, you have no idea how worried I was when you went missing. This was my entire fault. I’m so sorry. I feel sick, sick to my core, even now, when I can see and feel you safe in my arms.” He cried as he kissed my shoulder. I pat Kyuhyun’s back as I took in the moment. “Kyu? My kyu? Stop.” I tried to find the right words; the words to free him from this imagined obligation that caused him so much pain. I didn’t know if I could get the words out without breaking down. But I had to try to do it right. I didn’t want to be a source of guilt and anguish in his life. He should be happy.

He cupped my cheek. “I wouldn’t know what to do if you were gone. I think I wouldn’t even know how to breathe. Thank you for being alive, for being here with me again.” He said as he leaned in and gently placed his lips on mine.

I closed my eyes as I kissed him back, my heart pounding out a jagged, disjointed rhythm while my breathing turned to panting and fingers moved greedily to his face. His hands memorized my face, the same way mine were tracing his, and, in the brief seconds when his lips were free, he whispered my name.

He pulled away, only to lay his ear against my heart. “This will always be my favourite sound in the entire world.” I placed my hands on his hair as I combed through his brown hair. “This wasn’t your fault; it wasn’t anybody’s fault okay.” I whispered to him before kissing the top of his head.

The last few weeks have been a tremendous rollercoaster ride of events, one after another. Thank goodness Da Jin have been arrested and will be in jail for a very long time. I never want to see him again.

“We were all so worried, thank goodness you are alright.” Kim Mi said as she sat down on the sofa. It has been a week since I left the hospital.

“Kyuhyun was the most worried one.” She said as she sipped her tea. I sat down next to her smiling. “I don’t dare to imagine what he will do if ever something happens to me.” I replied.

“He really loves you, Rae Young.”

“I know that. When he was trying to cut the time bomb, I could sense how strong his love was for me, I think I married the right person.” I smiled.

“You lucky girl. He told me he can’t bear t o leave you alone, so he hired me to his part time care taker for you, during this period.” She said as she placed the tea cup back on the coffee table.

“Is it? No wonder you are like here almost every day. I thought you were that bored.”

“Even if he didn’t ask me to be here, I would have come as well. Rae Young, I’m so glad you are safe now. You are my best girlfriend, how could I not help?” Kim Mi smiled as she opened his arms to me.

“Awwwww.” I replied while crashing into her hug.

Just then, we heard the door open. “Kyuhyun must be home, which means it’s time for me to leave.” Kim Mi said, standing up

Kyuhyun came in with a bright smile. “Thank Kim Mi, I owe you a favor. Haha. How was your day, ladies?”

“You better. Our day was great, mainly talking about your bad stuff.” Kim Mi said with a wink at me before taking her belongings and heading for the door.

I laughed as Kyuhyun looked at me with wide eyes, “My bad stuff? What bad stuff would I have?” I waved at Kim Mi as she left, “Bye Kim Mi!”

Kyuhyun came to hug me from behind. “What bad stuffs!”

I giggled, “That tickles. Not gonna tell you. It’s our secret.”

He leaned down and placed his lips on my neck. “I thought we said there will be no secrets between us. This is unfair.” He pouted.

I turned around in his arms. “Ohh, is my Kyu jealous?”

“Who is being jealous? Nobody is alright?” He continued, making his grip on me tighter.

I tiptoed and placed my lips on his.

“You are always so talkative.”
