I was standing in front of the CD store that I always used to go after finishing my college classes, with a receipt in my hands I finally made my way inside and went to the clerk.

“Hello” I said as I put my receipt on the table, “Is my latest order here yet?” the clerk nodded and went inside to look for my package, I had wasted too much money on other things and I couldn’t continue using my credit card that month so I had to use cash instead to get the cds I wanted, and also order from a shop instead of having my order delivered at home.

The clerk went out of the office and handed me a small box with two CDs inside.

“Your CNblue Where You Are Japanese singles” she said, I smiled and thanked her, she signed my receipt to notify her bosses that the order had been delivered and I went out of the CD shop as I stuffed the CDs in my bag.

“Well that took a while to arrive…and it’s not like Japan is that far…oh well” It had been about a week since I last saw Minhyuk or Jonghyun, and after seeing them after so many years, I somehow started to miss them, yes, even jerk Jonghyun. I just perhaps couldn’t assimilate yet that the band that I liked so much and my highschool friends were the same people.

I decided to go to a café before heading back home and I ordered an expresso alongside some biscuits, probably my blood pressure would be high later on that night but I couldn’t resist the temptation. I took out my phone to check the time as I took a sip from my beverage and noticed that I had three missed calls, all from an unknown number.

“That’s odd…” I whispered, I placed my phone on the table but then noticed it started glowing, again an unknown number, I thought that maybe it was Minhyuk who was calling so I decided to answer the call.

“Hello?”

“It took you ages to answer!” I almost dropped the phone when I heard the voice that was talking to me, I was wondering how he got my number, but my guess was that he had got it from Minhyuk’s phone.

“Ugh, what do you want Jonghyun?” I said trying to prevent myself from being nice to him, after all, I had decided that the only way for us not to fight and therefore not to be a bother to Minhyuk was simply by not talking to each other, but here was Lee Jonghyun, calling me out of a sudden so my natural reaction was to act that way.

“Not even a ‘Good afternoon, Jonghyun’? Where are your manners?” he said from the other end of the line.

I tried playing my sarcastic side well, “Good afternoon ‘darling’, what do you want?”

“Now, that’s better” apparently, he didn’t get the sarcasm, “Where are you now?” he suddenly asked. I wondered what he was up to because it felt weird to hear him asking me about my location when the other day he bluntly told me how he didn’t even want my friendship…and I, how I never wanted to see him again.

 I hesitated some minutes before answering, “…You there?” he asked.

“Yeah”

“Where are you?”

“Why do you want to know? If you tell me the reason, I can consider if I tell you or not” I said, trying to play it cool, trying to see if he would get mad and hang up like he should.

He sighed and I could hear he laughed afterwards, “Yah, I know you are happy to hear my voice so stop acting like that”

“What are you even on about?!” I shouted as I slammed my hand against the table, catching the attention of the nearby people, I bit my lip when I saw them staring at me. I could hear him laughing though, imagining Jonghyun laughing gave me a weird feeling, and I could actually imagine his satisfied smile and that made me feel uneasy.

“I just want to go out with you so we can talk… properly” he explained, I was surprised by it, especially since I was trying my best to stay away from him, it would be the second time we would see each other after 5 years and I didn’t know if I should accept or refuse his offer.

“I don’t think you can come at the place where I am now though…” I said as I looked at my surrounding, no there was no possible way for him to come and pick me up normally if I did end up saying yes.

“Just tell me where you are, I’ve even rented a car so people don’t recognize mine, so tell me” I sighed in defeat, he wasn’t going to stop until I told him where I was at the moment, I knew how persistent he was.

“At the Shopping Mall close to KBS building” I said.

“Alright, wait for me at the entrance” he said before hanging up on me, this wasn’t a good idea, at least my mind told me so at that moment, what I had promised myself not to do was what I was about to do at the moment. I went to the cashier to cancel my bill and headed out of the café.

I really didn’t know why I had actually told him that I would go out with him, for one it was dangerous going out with a kpop singer if you were nothing but a normal citizen, and also, going out with someone who you just fought with as soon as you saw each other after 5 years, it didn’t make sense.

I waited at the entrance for around 20 minutes though, and when I was about to leave I saw a car parking near me and then the window was rolled down, “Want to go for a ride?” it was Jonghyun, he was wearing sunglasses and a stylish beret, almost like the one he used for the promotional posters for the Blue Storm concert, he flashed me a smile from inside the car. Want to go for ride, it reminded me when in high school he would come over to my house after classes and ask me to go for a ride on his bike.

“Hey!” he called out to me, “Get inside, we don’t have much time”

“Then why come in the first place?” I replied as I tried shaking off the memories, he just bit his lower lip and laughed.

“Just get inside…please?” I opened the door of the car and sat at the co-driver’s seat, I tried avoiding looking at him since it was actually only the two of us alone at that moment, I didn’t want to feel emotionally weak to be honest, I was trying to maintain calm so I didn’t fight with him.

It took us a while to say anything to each other, it was weird yet normal, it was noticeable that we weren’t the same teenagers who fell in love with each other; years don’t pass just because. It wasn’t easy to know what we were thinking anymore, it wasn’t easy to know what was going to happen the next second, I felt that we both had changed, ever since that weekend I knew we had changed, or at least, it appeared that way.

“Um…how have you been?” he asked out of a sudden, I was looking out of the window since I didn’t know where he was taking me to.

“Fine I suppose, college, back at home, fine” I said, I saw how he was looking at me, I was able to take notice when I looked at the rear mirror.

“That’s good, I didn’t mean it like that though” he said, I looked at him totally clueless, but decided to not say anything else, we had been at the car for some time now and I was starting to get bored, it would have been better if we had been talking I thought that to myself.

“Jonghyun…just where are you taking me? Are you plotting to kill me or something?” I asked sounding bored and totally not worried when I mentioned the ‘’plotting to kill me’’ part. He just laughed though.

“Aish, this girl, no of course I’m not trying to murder you, why would I?”

“Where are we going, Jonghyun?” I asked again.

“To a mountain near Myeong-dong”

“Alright… Why? Are you plotting to kill me there?”

“NO!” he yelled as he stopped the car, “Do you really not trust me anymore? Not even a little?”

“Um why would I? You broke your promise remember?” he fell silent and started the car again. It took some minutes for him to speak once again.
