“Nahee. It’s nice to see you here again. Did mom force you to bake for us again?” Bernard asked.

“Oh no, I came here ‘coz I really wanted to help. There’s nothing much to do if I’ll just stay at my apartment.” She replied as she put icing on top of each cupcake.

Bernard smiled at here.

“Thank you for helping mom here.” He told her.

Nahee smiled back.

“No worries,Bern.”

Bernard is Mrs. Geroux only son. He works as an architect.  He and Mrs. Geroux are Nahee’s companion in Strasbourg. They enjoy Nahee’s friendship, and they appreciate that she became their friend. But they don’t fully know her. They knew she was from South Korea, but they didn’t know that she’s married. Nahee told them that she’s here to have a vacation. They don’t know the real reason why she came to France. Because of that, Bernard has developed a liking for her. He noticed her pretty Asian beauty, her being smart, and her excellence in cooking and in baking. She seems oblivious of that though.

Bernard stared at her while she’s focused putting the cupcakes in the tray. He admired her face. He felt his heart beating faster.

“Bernard, you came.”

He turned around to see his mother approaching them.

“Yes,Mom. You were busy in the cashier; I didn’t bother to say hi to you.” He hugged his mother.

“Oh.” Mrs. Geroux smiled.

“Nahee.” She looked at her. “You can go home now. I know you’re tired already.”

“I’m not tired, Mrs. Geroux. I can still help.” She insisted.

“No. I don’t want to tire you more. Thank you so much for helping.” She patted her back.

“Okay. Thank you for having me here.” Nahee hugged her quickly.

“I’ll leave now. Goodbye.” She put on her jacket and waved to Mrs. Geroux. She waved back at her.

Nahee pushed the glass door and went out of the café. She put her hands inside her jacket’s pocket as she walked.

“Nahee!”

She stopped walking and turned around.

“Bernard. Is there anything wrong?” She asked curiously.
