Caught
CheckmateHundreds of couches and divans in all kinds of colors presented themselves in the open store. One especially caught her interest when Yoona passed: a Baroque sofa with golden edges and vanilla seats in floral velvet. That would look great in the hallway of their new apartment. Classy and elegant.
"I can tell you like that one," she heard.
When Yoona looked up, mother Ok came towards her with a gentle smile widening her lips. Everything she had on was black, like in mourning. But then again, she had always worn dark clothes whenever they met.
"How lovely you look, my sweet girl," she praised while giving her a tight hug.
They let each other go and she greeted TaecYeon as well, before she eyed Yoona up and down. As her future daughter-in-law had predicted, a gasp came from the small woman as her gaze landed on the crutches.
"Oh dear, what happened? Does it hurt?"
Yoona smiled uncomfortably. She knew the lady would become concerned the second mother Ok saw her legs. But at least, somebody except her friends cared. Yoona was still uncertain if TaecYeon acted or actually worried. She could, however, state that his behavior was premier. A true gentleman. But, she hadn't forgotten about the little incident that almost happened with the car.
"Nothing particular. I just fell and hurt my knee while spraining my ankle."
"Are you sure? Do you need to sit down?"
She grinned assertively, "I'm fine."
To change the subject, Yoona looked away from the pair of brown eyes and roundabout the furniture. She could only guess, but they were probably here to plan the interior decoration of their home. Not that difficult to figure out.
"Come with me, little ducklings, since we're going to look at some bedframes and mattresses for your apartment. You'll be moving in during the weekend, you know."
"Sure," Yoona mumbled and followed the lady.
TaecYeon walked closely behind her as the group moved forward. They passed several clients
