Rival
CheckmateYoona locked her screen and put the cellphone away. Then, happy and calm, she leaned against the fence of dark stone and watched the stars. Coldness spread along the forearms, while a serene warmth poured out from the heart. The night had been pretty successful, contrary of what she thought at first. Even though most of the guests had been giving her frigid looks, Yoona felt calm about the glancing, hence she had TaecYeon by her side. The hidden attacks were easier to handle when she got to squeeze his palm every time, which she did. He was like a big umbrella to lean under whenever raindrops fell. TaecYeon didn't mind and continued the formal discussions with the guests he invited. At least, not a single reaction came from him. The only thing he did was gripping her fist gently.
Except for that one time, when the sweet girl from the lobby came by. Yoona instantly braced herself, because the air began to smell of catfight. TaecYeon added oil to a coming bonfire when he took a step closer to Yoona. The young lady made a jerk in her eye, clearly showing her dislike. What Yoona didn't understand though, was how the girl could feel such revulsion towards her when they had never met each other before? For that simple reason, Yoona grew quite suspicious when the biggest smile formed the cute lips of their next guest.
"Hello," she greeted.
Yoona got the vibe of fakeness right away. Or acting. Either way, the girl wasn't so very genuine. Therefore, she returned a reply concealed with distaste.
"Good evening∼"
"I must say, this party turned out quite nice."
Yoona felt the corner of yank a little. Talk about spending time on acting rude. She wanted to slap the woman, not only for this event, but also the one in the restaurant a few weeks ago. Her attitude was unbelievable.
Well, two could play this game.
"How kind, thank you, I'll tell mother-in-law the moment I see her."
The mood quickly turned worse. Even TaecYeon felt the affect, judging by his deep sigh. The girl noticed him as too. Within half a second, her rival went from devil to angel.
"Honey, aren't you going to introduce us?"
Yoona saw red. But she disguised her emotions well behind a smile, before she faced TaecYeon.
"Excuse me, what does she mean?" she whispered through her teeth.
"I have no idea."
His answer was not the explanation Yoona had expected.
"Then, ask her."
But not a word came from his mouth. TaecYeon was obviously scared. Of what, she had no idea. Probably not this innocent, little kitten who had lost her way in the streets.
"Anything you wish to know from me?" the young lady wondered.
Yoona sighed inwards. She was getting a headache from this. "I do have quite many questions, but all are irrelevant."
"Not to me."
"That's not for you to decide."
Finally, leastwise one sentence came from TaecYeon. He was stressed out by the sequence of events, which Yoona could see by the way his eyes went from the rival to her. Nervous barely described his inner feelings.
"Ladies, do you have to be like this here?"
Both looked at TaecYeon, ready to defend themselves with every means necessary.
"I haven't done anything. This thinks she can say whatever she want!"
Yoona gasped, and she wasn't the on
