Kae In’s P.O.V

As soon as I hear the car start up and drive away, I ran out the front doors and chased after Hyuna’s car. I almost caught up to it until Jae Joong pulled me back.

“LET ME GO!” I yelled at him.

“Kae In, there’s no use. Just leave her alone.” He said in a clam voice.

“Something might happen! We have to get her back!” I tried to shake myself free, but his grip was too strong.

“I know her better than she knows herself…she’ll be alright. I promise.” She smiled at me, that smile was enough to melt me right there. “She just needs to cool off.”

I nodded my head, and walked back to my house with Jae Joong by my side. One part of my fairy tale is coming true, but the other half is breaking into pieces. Is this worth it?

As happy as I was, when Jae Joong held my hand, I couldn’t help but feel that sting inside my chest.

“I know her better than she knows herself…she’ll be alright. I promise.”

It rang through my head over and over again.

“I know her better than she knows herself…”

I tried to push it out of my head, but it wouldn’t leave. It stuck there like glue.

“Kae In, are you okay?” He asked, just as we reached my front door.

I nodded my head. “Yeah…I’ll be fine.”

“I have somewhere I need to go. I’ll drop by your place when I get back, is that alright?”

I nodded my head again. “Bye.” I waved.

He smiled back at me and pecked me on my lips. I watched him pull out of the drive way and drive down the road. When I got back inside, I couldn’t help but feel mixed emotions.

“Maybe I’m just paranoid…” I muttered to myself. But where was he going? Was he going to find Hyuna? My heart started to beat faster with the thought of her name. He won’t see her…I thought to myself. There’s no way.

Even though my mind tells me nothing’s wrong, my heart kept telling me otherwise.

Jae Joong’s P.O.V

I rushed out of the neighbourhood and onto the highway. Where could she have gone? I told myself. I sped past cars after cars. I need to find her. God knows what she’ll do to herself. What are the possible places that she’s go? Think, Jae Joong, think.

“God, dammit!” I yelled, hitting my steering wheel. Where on earth could she be?

I tried to recall past memories with her. There must have been one place where she went when she was upset.

The lakeshore.

I finally remembered it. Every time we got into a fight, I’d always find her there. I pressed in the gas pedal and sped down the highway.

When I got there, it was all deserted. However, I saw her car in the parking lot. I smiled to myself and went off to find her. I looked up at the sky, and clouds were forming, it’ll rain soon.

I saw her sitting on the rocks, right above the lake. She watched the waves come and go, while the wind was blowing through her hair. I slowly walked up to her and sat down beside her.

“Isn’t the weather nice?” She asked casually, without glancing at me.

I pointed up to the sky, “Are you serious?” I asked.

“What are you doing here?” She said, ignoring my question.

“Preventing you from doing anything stupid.”

She shook her head, “I’m not that kind of person. Now, tell me the real reason why you’re here.” She turned her head and looked at me. Her eyes were ice cold, and her face was expressionless.

“I feel terrible.”

“Oh really?” She raised an eyebrow.

“I’m being serious.” I said, “I wanted to end it with you earlier, but you were never around.”

“That’s kind of you, coming all the way down here just to tell me how you want to end things with me.”

“Hyuna…this isn’t how I wanted this to end. I’m sure it’s the same for you.” I sighed. “Can we just forget about this?”

She looked back at me and looked. I wanted to say something, but that look on her face…it sent shivers down my spine. “Sure.” She said, then turning her view back to the lake.

The currents were rising higher and higher. It soon started to hit my heels, then my ankles, it’s getting worse and worse.

“Don’t you love it, when the waves touch your skin?” She cocked her head to the side and smiled. “It feels like it’s washing away all your worries. That’s why I come here so much.”

“What are you saying…?” I asked, confused.

She smiled back at me, the slid off the rocks, into the water. My eye widened, “HYUNA! YOU IDIOT! WHAT THE ARE YOU DOING?”

I couldn’t see her anymore, it was as if the waves took her away.
