I'm a Chicken
A Fangirl's Dream*Rebecca’s POV*
Why are we at an amusement park? Why couldn’t he have taken me out for chicken again?! We both love chicken! I HATE amusement parks.
“What do you want to ride first?” Onew asked me.
I scanned the rides looking for something that I could handle. The only thing I saw was the Ferris wheel, but that would just be awkward. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I’d love to go on a romantic Ferris wheel ride with Onew, but I was scared I wouldn’t know what to do.
“Um, doesn’t matter to me,” I finally answered.
“Hmmm, how about the rollercoaster?”
“NO!” I said it so quickly that it had even surprised me.
You chicken Rebecca!
“Haha, um okay, how about the haunted house ride?”
I looked over at the creepy ride. I was TERRIBLE with scary movies and gory stuff, but I couldn’t turn Onew down again; plus I was a little better with the haunted rides than the movies.
“Okay,” I agreed, a pit of fear growing in my stomach.
We walked over to the ride. There was no line, so the person running the ride immediately helped us into one of the carts. I gulped as the cart proceed into the dark tunnel ahead of us.
First it was just a bunch of creepy statues and scenery set up, I was doing pretty well. Suddenly…
“BWAHAHAH!”
Something big and hairy dropped down right in front of us.
“Ahhhhh!!!” I screamed bloody murder.
I opened my eyes to find myself squished up against Onew, my hand squeezing his. My face was buried in his shoulder.
“You should’ve told me you don’t like scary rides,” Onew said looking down at me.
I flinched at the sound of a distant scream.
“No, its okay; I’m totally fine.”
I sat back up straight, but didn’t let go of Onew’s hand. At that point I wasn’t thinking about how much I liked Onew, or really about anything. I was just worrying about getting eaten by a monster.
Within the next thirty seconds I was already hiding my face in Onew’s shoulder again.
*Onew’s POV*
At first I felt kind of awkward when she held onto me. I didn’t know if she was doing it because she was scared, or because she liked me. I grew to realize that it was out of fear, and surprisingly felt disappointed.
Come on Jinki! If you like her, you’ve got to make a move!
When the next scary thing popped up I took my chance. As she flinched at the sounds of the evil laughing and screams, I wrapped my arm around her, pulling her even closer.
I could feel her body begin to relax in my arms; that is, until the next monster showed its face.
After a few more minutes I saw light up ahead and knew the ride was ending.
“Rebecca, look,” I said motioning toward the light.
She picked her head up and looked at the brightness.
“Oh thank goodNEEEEESS!!!!!!” she screamed the last part as someone wearing a mask suddenly jumped out from the darkness on her side of the cart, screaming right in her face.
“I’m sorry! I thought it was over!” I said, looking down to see her hiding her face in my chest. I felt really bad.
“No, it’s okay. I’m sorry for being a chicken.”
No, I’m sorry I’M a chicken…
She didn’t open her eyes again until the person at the end of the ride told us it was over and helped us out of our cart. Her face was ghost white.
“How about I go get us some fried chicken?” I suggested, hoping to cheer her up.
It must’ve worked, because she immediately brightened up, “Okay!”
I got the chicken and we sat down together at a picnic table to eat. I looked over at her munch on the delicious fried food while watching all the different people walking by. I felt a smile spread across my face as she giggled cutely at some guy trying to look gangster, but totally failing. (http://cache.blippitt.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/epic-fail-gangsta-fail.jpg).
She’s so pretty- no; beautiful.
