I'm so sorry asdfjkl; I've been so busy and had no time to update so I wrote this all in parts so sorry if things aren't super smooth but here it is. My update after a super long time. The story is almost done and I would just like to say thank you for staying by even though I don't update as often as I'd like. Thanks so much and enjoy xD

The next day at school, no one confessed to Youngmin anymore. People saw him and Bora together and knew immediately that he was no longer available. Sad girls cried by their desks as they watched the new couple with envy bursting from their eyes. 

“Saerin!” Bora smiled and came over for a hug. She squeezed the other tightly and let go with a beaming smile. 

“Hey Bora.” Saerin smile back. 

“How’re you?” The smile never left Bora’s face.

“I’m alright. You seem very happy today.” Saerin let out a small laugh. 

“Yeah! Why wouldn’t I be? I’m with Youngmin now! I mean, aren’t you happy everyday since you’re with Kwangmin?” Bora questioned. 

Saerin looked over at her boyfriend who was silently writing stuff in his notebook. A small smile played on her lips. “Yeah, I am happy I have him. You have no idea.” 

“Exactly. Well, I’m going to go to class now. See you around!” Bora wiggled her fingers and skipped out of the classroom. When she left, Saerin sighed. She was happy with Kwangmin. She was content. But why were these feelings still tugging at her heart?! She thought they’d gone away already. Why did they suddenly come back again? It didn’t make sense. Kwangmin seemed to have sensed something and looked up. 

“Saerin?” He called. 

“Huh? Oh hi.” she smiled. 

“You were zoning out again. You alright?” Kwangmin asked. 

“I don’t know.” Saerin looked at her feet. 

“How about this, I’ll take you out after school today. We’ll go do something fun. Okay?” Kwangmin suggested. 

“I’d like that. Thanks.” Saerin was so grateful for Kwangmin’s understanding heart. She wondered sometimes how he put up with her wavering feelings so well. It was amazing really. 

“You’re welcome, Saerin. Anything for you.” He walked over and kissed her temple affectionately before going back to his desk. With another smile playing on her lips, she got ready as the teacher entered the classroom.

School ended and Saerin packed up her things. Kwangmin stood over her as he waited for her to finish. She mumbled to herself, trying to remember what to take home and Kwangmin chuckled. “What’s so funny?” she asked. 

“Oh nothing.” Kwangmin chuckled again. 

“You’re laughing at me aren’t you.” Saerin furrowed her eyebrows and frowned. 

“No...” Kwangmin denied, “You’re just too cute. Come on, let’s go if you’re done mumbling to yourself.” 

“Wait no, I’m not done.” Saerin said and began mumbling again as she zipped her backpack up. “Okay now I’m good.” Kwangmin’s shoulder shook lightly as he couldn’t stop laughing. “Oppa!” 

“Okay okay. I’m good. Let’s go.” Kwangmin smiled and grasped Saerin’s hand in his, firmly and securely. Saerin smiled and let him guide her out of the school. 

They entered the front of the school where students were still talking and hanging out with friends. They happily chatted and joked about random things until Saerin spotted a certain blonde head. I hadn’t even noticed, but Kwangmin was holding me back. “W-what? Is something wrong?” she asked. 

“Did you want to go that way?” Kwangmin was referring to Youngmin. 

“Um...” 

“Come on. I wouldn’t want you to leave me now would I?” Kwangmin lightly joked, but I could see the pain in his eyes. 

“Kwangmin.” I whimpered. 

“Let’s go.” He lead me the opposite direction and out of the school, avoiding the new couple completely. My heart warmed at his action, but I hated myself for not being able to return all the feelings. What was wrong with me?

“Have you seen my brother?” Youngmin asked. 

“I think I saw him with Saerin a while ago. They went that way.” Bora pointed down the sidewalk, “Maybe they went on a date or something.” 

“Yeah... Maybe...” Youngmin’s voice trailed off. 

“Let’s go. We have our date, too, you know.” Bora smiled. 

“Alrighty. Let’s go then.” He held his palm out and Bora laced her fingers through his.

“Remember this place?” Kwangmin spoke to the sky. A smile lit up Saerin’s face. 

“I do.” They’d arrived at the Han River. The place where Kwangmin had first stolen Saerin’s heart and where she had her first kiss with him. The couple sat in a spot under the shade and just people-watched. They saw the many different personalities of the people that walked by and the clothes they wore... Kwangmin and Saerin spent a lot of simple, quiet moments together. 

“Let me guess....” Kwangmin suddenly spoke. 

“Guess what?” Saerin turned to his face. It was calm and he wouldn’t meet her eyes. He would softly laugh to himself before looking back towards the sky. Saerin waited for him to speak. 

“Your heart is still with Youngmin’s isn’t it.” Kwangmin sighed. 

Saerin was stunned and didn’t know what to say. “I-Kwangmin, I didn’t--”

“You don’t have to say anything, Saerin. Just listen to me.” Saerin nodded, “I know. I’m not stupid and blind. I can see your expressions clearly and I understand. You were never mine to begin with. I thought... I thought I’d be able to have your heart, but it went too fast. I didn’t fully heal your heart and it still belongs with him, doesn’t it?” Saerin nodded again. Kwangmin lightly laughed. “What was I thinking?” he mumbled to himself. 

“Kwangmin... I do love you though. I just.. No matter how hard I try... He won’t leave my head. I... I want to love you and I do, but I can’t love you that way anymore. It pains me, but...” 

“I understand. I just have one favor, before you do whatever you decide to do.” Kwangmin said. 

“And what would that be?” 

“Let me... Do this...” and he leaned and captured Saerin’s lips one last time. Something in Saerin knew he would request of this and she let herself get lost in the feeling. After all, she’d no longer be able to do this with him anymore. The kiss was tender and sweet, a good way for them t o say goodbye. When the two parted, nothing but they’re eyes spoke. They knew each other’s feelings of sadness and their regrets... They knew each other’s sincerity and where their heart stood as of now. 

“Go get him.” Kwangmin encouraged. 

“Really? Should I?” Saerin asked. 

“Yes. Go. And if it doesn’t work out, you’ll always have me. I wouldn’t mind being a rebound, as pitiful as that might be, I’ll always love you, Saerin.” Kwangmin said. 

“Thank you so much.” Saerin hugged him and felt a weight lift her heart. She felt more free and she finally felt realized. There was this new energy in her and she felt like she could do it tonight. I’ll just say it and get it over with, nothing wrong with that, Saerin thought. “Kwangmin-ah, let’s get something to eat, then head home.” 

“Alright.” Kwangmin smiled. The two stood up from the grass and walked towards a nearby food stand. They left their memories behind and were ready for something new.
