Trust and Pixie Dust

- Narrator's P.O.V -

Seungkwan, SinB, Yewon and Hansol walked into the dance studio and saw their members warming up and stretching their bodies. The 4 quickly followed suit. They ran through whatever they did the previous practice before gathering for a meeting.

"Everyone, we have been given more time for our performance!" Sojung said excitedly and Seungcheol nodded. "We have been given about 2-3 minutes more stage time." Seungcheol said and they were all in awe yet they were pleasantly surprised.

"Since we have more time on stage now, I think we should discuss what more we can do to make a better stage." Seungcheol said and Jihoon and Soonyoung instantly nodded their heads. "The resident choreographer will drop by later to see our progress." Sojung added.

"Then we should try to finish discussing our new plan before she comes so we can get the performance idea approved." Eunha said and they all agreed. 

"What more do you think should we include?" Seungcheol prompted to get the discussion starting. Jeonghan raised his hand. "Mingyu and SinB could act" Jeonghan answered as his hands directed to the mentioned. "Like a story?" Jisoo echoed and Jeonghan clicked his finger before facing Jisoo. "That's right!"

"We can have a rap session between hip hop team the GFRIEND rappers." Hansol suggested and they nodded at the possibility.

"We can have a dance break too. Soonyoung and SinB could do it." Chan said.

Jihoon, who was deep in thought for awhile raised his hand. 

"Yuna and Seokmin should do a duet part together. Their voices blend together really well." Jihoon said and and Yerin clapped her hand. "Let's do it all together!"

"But if we do not arrange and organise it properly, it could become slightly disastrous." Soonyoung commented.

"I actually can see how the whole thing is coming together already." Seungkwan said and a few nodded with him. 

The moment Jihoon mentioned that Seokmin and Yuna should do a duet together, Seokmin couldn't help but feel ecstatic at the thought.

"But if SinB and Mingyu are to do the rap and dance portion as well, won't they be too busy on stage?" Minghao said and there were some disagreements but there was also agreements.

"I think at this point in time, we should just do what we can and if it doesn't match we'll tweak it." Jisoo said, hoping that an argument wouldn't erupt. "Yes, Jisoo is right, I think now, we can split into the sub-groups and plan. We'll come back in 30 minutes to discuss again." Sojung said and the responded with a "Yes!" before splitting up into their groups.

"Phew, thankfully there wasn't any heated argument." Sojung said and Seungcheol nodded. Jeonghan and Jisoo left them and went to find the acting duo. Sojung and Seungcheol continued to sit down as Yewon, Hansol and Wonwoo approached them.

The studio was filled with chatter as their creativity flowed up. As Jihoon was listening to Seokmin and Yuna, a sudden inspiration struck him and he immediately left the studdio to go to the music studio next door.

"Where did he go?" Sojung asked and Wonwoo replied, "To the music room."

"Inspiration found him again." Chan said with a chuckle. "I really can't imagine SEVENTEEN without Jihoon." Seungcheol said and they could notice the admiration in his voice and they all nodded.

After the 30 minutes was up, they gathered again and and came up with a flow for the whole item. Sojung wrote it on the whiteboard to ensure that she took down every single thing.

"Oh!" They exclaimed when they saw their choreographer peeking her head in. Jihoon had returned and they had been practicing the new choreography and sequence when the choreographer came in. They greeted her as she walked in. She greeted them back. "You guys are aware of the stage time extension, yes?"

"Yes!" They chorused at once and the choreographer smiled and her eyes took notice of the whiteboard. "Is that the new revised plan?" She said as she walked to the board to get a closer look."Yes.." They answered with some uncertainty and the exchanged glances with one another.

GFriend and Seventeen members felt nervousness washing over them as she looked at their plan carefully. It was silence and only their breaths could be heard.

"This is not bad. It's very original and it does showcase what both of your groups are good at." The choreographer evaluated and instantly, sighs of relief were heard and the choreographer chuckled.

"So is this approved?" Sojung asked and the choreographer approved.

"Let's pickup where we stopped at the last practice. No, let's see what you have first." The choreographer said and took a seat infront of them.

They huddled in a circle and did a cheer before going to their position.

As she watched them, she couldn't help but notice how strong their chemistry was. 'They must have gotten really close, especially on a personal level.' She thought as they did the mass part in a clean manner.

A few days have past and was finally the end of the week. After Yuna bid the GFriend members farewell, she made her way home. It was evening time and the sun was setting quickly.

Yuna pushed her house door open and her eyes immediately caught sight of her mother jumping up in shock. For some reason, it stirred up some unease in Yuna seeing her mother like that.

Her mother turned to see Yuna and a look of relief immediately washed over her. She walked quickly to her daughter, who wore a mystefied expression.

"Yuna, you're back!" Mrs Choi said and Yuna nodded. "Do you have any plans to go out today?" Her mother continued and Yuna shook her head. 'Why is she asking me this all of a sudden?' Yuna thought as she continued to pay attention to her mother's actions.

"I plan to relax in my room." Yuna continued and Mrs Choi was clearly thinking hard but she wouldn't stop glancing around the door.

"Yuna, you should go over to your friends' place tonight!" Mrs Choi said cheerily and Yuna became more and more puzzled with her behaviour.

"Mum, why are you so antsy?" Yuna finally asked and her mother froze slightly, knowing that her daughter caught something off. Yuna's eyes caught sight of her mother's arms and lifted up the sleeves of her mother's blouse only to be slightly horrified.

"Did father do this to you?" Yuna said and lifted her mother's sleeves. Mrs Choi's arms had bruises on. Mrs Choi opened to deny but nothing came out. Mrs Choi sighed as her arms dropped to her sides.

"You have to go out of the house tonight Yuna. Please."

"What's wrong?" Yuna asked, her face now filled with concern. "What did father do to you? Where is he?"

"He's out, drinking." Mrs Choi said slowly and tore her gaze from Yuna. Yuna looked at her mother. "His mood hasn't been good lately. Together with his drinking habit, that's dangerous. Yuna, you can't stay here tonight."

"Mum!" Yuna cried out. She can't believe her mother was acting like this. "I can't leave you alone here!" 

"I will be fine I promise. It's you that I'm most worried about " Her mother reassured and tried to push Yuna out of the house. "Mum, please. Don't be like this!" Yuna said, resisting her mother's pushes. 

"Yuna! I'm doing this for your sake! Trust me." Mrs Choi lost the cool in her voice and Yuna stared at her mother and blinked. Yuna gulped before saying, "Let me go get changed first."

It ached Yuna's heart that her mother was doing so much to protect her but there wasn't anything Yuna could do.

Yuna walked further and further away from the house before turning back to take another look at her house. Yuna sighed. There was so much frustration inside of her but there was no one she could talk to at the moment.

There was someone she wanted to talk to and Yuna stopped walking and froze. "Oh my goodness, Yuna." Yuna said to herself. She herself was surprised that this person came to her mind. 

Yuna took out her phone slowly and stared hard. As she was about to click his number. She paused.

"Wait, why, why am I thinking of him?" Yuna said as she stared at the caller ID. 

"Am I way too close to him?" Yuna whispered to herself and all of a sudden, there were so many questions she was asking herself.

But Yuna pushed all other thoughts aside and hit the call button. As much as Yuna didn't want to admit, she really wanted him to pick up her call.

She couldn't help but smile widely when she heard his voice at the other end of the line.

Seokmin pushed the glass door of the eatery and saw Yuna's figure sitting by the high tables and in front of her was a plate of spicy rice cakes. The sound of cultery being cleared and chatters could be heard.

Seokmin could see Yuna jabbing a piece of rice cake as she looked out of the shop window. When he entered the shop, it started raining. It somehow made him realise that there was something bothering his friend.

As he walked towards Yuna, who was spacing out, he unknowingly admired her side profile. Taking a seat beside her, Seokmin tapped her shoulder. Yuna turned and gave a small smile as she saw him. She couldn't help but feel a light sense of relief in her chest.

"Hey Seok," Yuna said as she pushed the plate of spicy rice cakes in between them and offered him a fork. Seokmin thanked her and took a piece of rice cake but Yuna only continued to stare out of the window.

"Yuna."

Yuna turned back to Seokmin. There was no doubt worry in his eyes. 

"What's wrong?" Seokmin asked gently as he kept his gaze on her. Yuna kept silent but blinked.

"Yuna, I know something's troubling you. When you called just now with a chirpy voice, you ended with a sigh. Tell me, Yuna."

The tone in Seokmin's voice was different and it intrigued Yuna. It was, to her, seeing a different side of Seokmin. Yuna held her breath not knowing that she was unknowingly more attracted to Seokmin now. Yuna continued to look at him but turned away and sighed. She stared out the window as the rain drops fell.

"My father gets quite violent after drinking alcohol. He's been getting increasing drunk these days and violent towards my mum." Yuna started carefully and Seokmin put the fork down and listened intently.

"Just an hour ago when I reached home she was so insistent on getting me out of the house and even asking me to stay over at a friend's place. I even saw bruises on her arms." 

Even though Yuna didn't add much details, Seokmin could see the link as to what she was saying. Yuna paused and took a breath. 

"I thought 'Why is my father doing this?' and I realised it could be because of me." Yuna said sadly and Seokmin's eyes widened. He remembered Yuna's father's disliking Yuna attending a performing arts school.

"I haven't confirmed this with my mother but I think that's why my mother doesn't want me near my father when he's drunk." Yuna finished and closed her eyes, hoping that no tears seep out of her eyes.

Seokmin could feel his heart drop slightly seeing Yuna like this. Seokmin reached out for Yuna's hand and held it between both of his palms. 

In all honesty, Seokmin had no idea what made him reach for her hand. Seokmin also didn't know what to reply her or what words he should use. But he did know something.

'I just want you to know that I care for you and I'm here for you.' Seokmin thought as he felt Yuna's cold, delicate hand.

The sudden contact caused Yuna's eyes to open and look at him and Seokmin could see her eyes getting watery as they locked eyes. Yuna could feel the warmth from his hands and it was slightly comforting. She could see the concern in his eyes and it made her feel better.

There was silence between them and only the sound of the rain falling and the chatter of the eatery could be heard.
