That night…

 

Jisoo stepped out of his room reading the book, he truthfully wanted to get away from Chungae. He couldn’t stand her at times.

 

He turned off the lights because the light from the computer was enough for him and he started reading.

 

Chapter 1:

 

“bye Kara,” he said as he stepped out of her apartment

 

“Ah, don’t leave me so soon” she protested, holding onto the sleeve of his hoodie

 

“I've got too much to do and you have too much time on your hands” he replied as he tugged his sleeve out of her grasp “you should find yourself a job or something”

 

“If you leave me, then no kisses for the rest of the week”

 

“How about, i take you with me?” asked Alex

 

“Fiiine” she responded as she stood up to go with Alex

 

After some walking, they arrived at the cafe that Alex worked at.

 

“Just wait for me, ok?” he asked without waiting for an answer before he walked into his work area

 

“Gosh, that was rude” Kara thought as she took her phone and scrolled down on her social media

 

“Hello beautiful,” a tall dude said as he sat down in the seat next to her

 

“Weirdo” said Kara but she couldn’t help but blush at his statement

 

Just then, Alex came over to where Kara was sitting

 

“Kara? Who’s this?” he asked as he looked at the unidentified man

 

“My name is Jason and I’m this girl’s new boyfriend. Now, please excuse me while we get to know each other better, without you”

 

Kara blushed again, she didn’t know that Jason could make her feel this way.

 

“WOW THIS IS TERRIBLE” Jisoo said loudly to himself or so he thought

 

“What is?” asked a small voice

 

“W-who’s there?” asked Jisoo, his voice wavering. He didn’t think that there was anyone else but him in the room.

 

“It’s me, Jeonghan” he giggled

 

“Angel! You scared me!” said Jisoo

 

“Haha, sorry, I was going to get a glass of water and I didn’t think that you were here since the lights were off” said Jeonghan as he turned the lights on

 

“Stay with me angel” said Jisoo “ i don’t want to be alone” his previous anger at Jeonghan was washed away when he heard the angel speak.

 

“Aren’t you mad at me?” asked Jeonghan

 

“Not anymore, I was at first” replied Jisoo

 

“Seungcheol told me that you were listening to us in the bedroom” said Jeonghan (A/N: oml this sentence sounds so dirty, I can’t *laughs* ert Jisoo)

 

“Yeah…” Jisoo said as he scratched the back of his head “about that…”

 

“Don’t worry” Jeonghan laughed “it was a massage and nothing else”

 

“Why haven’t you given me a massage before?” pouted Jisoo, trying to look upset

 

“I don’t know, it didn’t seem right” said Jeonghan as he shrugged

 

“Can you help me?” asked Jisoo

 

“With what?”

 

“Reading this story” said Jisoo

 

“Can’t you read?” asked Jeonghan

 

“I can, but it’s terrible” said Jisoo

 

“Then don’t read it” Jeonghan said plainly

 

“Noooo, I already read the first chapter, I can’t just leave it at that” whined Jisoo as he held Jeonghan’s hand

 

Jeonghan blushed at the small gesture “ok, I’ll stay with you, but Cheol might be waiting for me”

 

“Ah, why is everything about Seungcheol now?” asked Jisoo in frustration, he didn’t hate Seungcheol at all, he just didn’t like the fact that he was becoming such an important part of Jeonghan’s life

 

“It isn’t” Jeonghan said, he didn't know that he talked about Seungcheol as much as he did

 

“Yes it is, you gave CHEOL a massage, you cook for CHEOL, CHEOL said this, CHEOL said that, CHEOL is even your fake boyfriend” said Jisoo with annoyance in his voice

 

“I didn’t know that it bothered you so much” said Jeonghan, a bit offended

 

“It does and I don’t want him to take you away from me” said Jisoo

 

“Come on, you know that’ll never-”

 

“But what if it does, Jeonghan?” asked Jisoo “what if it does?”

 

“I-it won’t” stuttered Jeonghan, he was thinking about all those times when he kissed Cheol, when he thought that he felt something

 

“You stuttered” Jisoo pointed out

 

‘No I didn’t” Jeonghan said, trying to convince himself that he didn’t feel anything for Cheol

 

“Do you know what?” said Jisoo “I really don’t want to start a fight with you right now, so can we please stop with this conversation”

 

Jeonghan thought about it for a minute, he didn’t want to back out but he also didn’t want to be in a fight with Jisoo, pushing him further away than he already was

 

“Ok” said Jeonghan “so, what’s that story about?”

 

“Some girl named Kara, that has a boyfriend or something named Alex and then some dude named Jason somehow magically woos her and says that he’s her”new boyfriend” in Alex’s face.”

 

“Does this take place in a cafe?” asked Jeonghan, he had read his fair share of cliche internet stories in the past and they almost always took place in a cafe.

 

“Yup” said Jisoo “here, you can read it”

 

Jisoo passed the computer to Jeonghan and Jeonghan proceeded to read it.

 

“How many more chapters are there?” asked Jeonghan

 

“Too many” laughed Jisoo

 

“Should we read chapter 2?” asked Jeonghan

 

“Let’s” said Jisoo

 

Chapter 2:

 

“Kara, who is that guy” Alex asked as he waved his hand in from of Kara’s face

 

“Nobody” Kara said quickly as she covered her face, she was blushing as she remembered him

 

“Why are you hiding your face?” asked Alex

 

“Because she likes him!!” Jeonghan said loudly

 

“Commenting? Already?” asked Jisoo

 

“Yup” said Jeonghan “keep on reading”

 

“I did a lot of exercise and my face is red” said kara, still attempting to cover her face

 

“You just walked like 30 steps to the bathroom and back” Alex informed her

 

“Yooo, that girl is lazier than me” said Jeonghan

 

“I know” Jisoo laughed

 

“Ahh you’re so lazy, even walking makes you tired” said Alex

 

“Sorry?” Kara giggled

 

“No need to be sorry princess, let’s go home” said ALex as he took her hand to lead her out of the cafe

 

Alex was the perfect boyfriend, he was kind, he was smart, he could sing and he was very handsome. On the other hand, Jason was the complete opposite, but he still made Kara’s heart flutter.

 

“Princess” Alex called Kara

 

“Yes” she responded

 

“Let’s go to bed” he said

 

“Oh, ok” she said

 

Suddenly, her phone pinged, signifying that she just recieved  text message but she was too busy with getting ready for bed to notice.

 

“Wow” said Jeonghan “you were right”

 

“I know” said Jisoo as he closed the computer

 

“I have a feeling that it was Jason that texted her” said Jeonghan

 

“That makes the most sense” said Jisoo

 

“You’re a lot like Alex” said Jeonghan

 

“Why do you say that?” asked Jeonghan

 

“Because, both of you are really sweet” said Jeonghan

 

“Aww, thank you angel” said Jisoo

 

“You’re welcome, baby” said Jeonghan

 

“Now, give me a kiss” said Jisoo

 

“Ok” Jeonghan giggled as he placed a chaste kiss on Jisoo’s lips

 

“Oh come on, even Seungcheol gets better kisses than me, that’s not fair” Jisoo pouted

 

“I don’t want anyone to hear us” said Jeonghan

 

“Oh come on, everyone’s already asleep” said Jisoo

 

“Fine” said Jeonghan as he let Jisoo dominate him

 

Jisoo climbed on top of Jeonghan and placed a lingering kiss on his cheek

 

“Oh come on, don’t tease me” said Jeonghan as he breathed heavily, his heart was pounding and he was sure that Jisoo could feel it too.

 

They both closed their eyes as Jisoo leaned into kiss Jeonghan, and as soon as Jisoo’s lips touched Jeonghan’s, Jeonghan immediately started to kiss him passionately.

 

“Whoa there, you’re going too fast” said Jisoo

 

“B-but” said Jeonghan

 

“No but’s, let’s be slow.” said Jisoo as he continued to kiss Jeonghan.

 

Jeonghan could barely feel the light kisses that Jisoo placed on his lips but instead of trying to be rough he decided to concentrate on each and every kiss so that he could savor each one of them.

 

Jisoo pulled away from Jeonghan to give the angel space to breathe.

 

“No, don’t stop” Jeonghan whined as he put his arm around Jisoo’s neck to pull him closer

 

“As you wish angel” Jisoo said as he continued kissing Jeonghan.

 

Jisoo closed his eyes to savor Jeonghan’s plump cherry flavored lips. With each kiss, the chapstick on his angel’s lips wore off a little. Jisoo’s hands were cupping Jeonghan’s face and his thumbs were rubbing circles into Jeonghan’s cheeks”

 

“Jeonghan, are you in here?” a mysterious voice asked

 

Jisoo kept on kissing Jeonghan as much as he could but Jeonghan lightly pushed him away.

 

“Yeah” Jeonghan said

 

“I was a bit worried because you didn’t come back” said the voice as it neared them

 

“Seungcheol, I’m fine” said Jeonghan

 

So it’s him thought Jisoo

 

“I’m coming into the kitchen, k?” said Seungcheol

 

Just then, Jisoo had an idea. He decided to kiss Jeonghan passionately just as Seungcheol came into the kitchen, showing that Jeonghan was his and nobody else’s. And so, he did.

 

Jisoo forced his tongue into Jeonghan’s mouth while Jeonghan was squirming under him, trying to make Jisoo stop what he was doing.

 

“Oh my goodness” said Seungcheol as he witnessed them kissing “isn’t Chungae your girlfriend?”

 

“Yeah she is, but I really don’t care about her that much” said Jisoo

 

“Should I go?” asked Seungcheol

 

“Yes please” said Jisoo

 

“I’ll be in the room, Jeonghan” Seungcheol said and then he walked out of the kitchen.

 

As he walked out of the kitchen, Seungcheol could feel a tear running down his cheek and a lump in his throat. Why did he feel this way? Was it because he saw Jeonghan kissing Jisoo? Was it because he saw Jeonghan enjoying every second of it? Or was it because his hopes of Jeonghan liking him slipped out of the window when he saw what just happened.

 

He reached the bedroom, closing the door quietly and sat down on the bed, his head in his hands. Soon enough, his hands were soaked with tears. No, I can’t act this way he thought. I need to have hope that maybe he’ll move on.

 

After wiping his tears with the hem of his shirt, he proceeded to make a bed for himself on the floor. It was cold and hard just like he was feeling. He didn’t want to talk to anyone at the moment.

 

I need to have hope

 

But how?

 

If I really love him, then I can make him love me back. If we’re tied together by fate then this will all pass.

 

But Seungcheol wasn’t a mind reader, or a fortune teller. All he knew was that he needed to work harder to win Jeonghan’s love.

 

But I can’t hurt him, I can’t manipulate him to hate Jisoo like Chungae is trying to do. In this game of love, I need to play fairly. With every roll of the dice I need to have hope. Even though my opponent has an advantage, it doesn’t mean that I can’t win. I need to try harder than everyone else, because at the end of the day, only 1 person will win the prize, Jeonghan’s heart.

“Jisoo, why’d you do that?” asked Jeonghan

 

“Because I love you” responded Jisoo

 

“But I thought that you didn’t want to be rough” said Jeonghan

 

“I can change my mind, can’t I?” asked Jisoo in a harsh tone

 

“I-I guess” said Jeonghan “look, it’s late and I need to go to sleep”

 

“Stay” Jisoo said

 

“I’m sorry, but no” said Jeonghan as he walked out of the room. He saw Seungcheol’s expression, he didn’t want Cheol to worry about him.

Jeonghan continued walking to his shared room with Seungcheol, he was going to apologise for the awkwardness and then go to sleep. Yeah, that seemed like a solid plan.

 

Jeonghan knocked on the door, he didn’t know why, it just seemed safer for him. Since he didn’t get any answer, he expected Seungcheol to already be asleep in their bed but as he opened the door, he saw something that he didn’t expect to see.

 

Seungcheol was lying on the floor, awake.

 

“Hey, why didn’t you answer when I knocked?” asked Jeonghan as he closed the door behind him

 

Seungcheol sat up, supporting himself with his arms and looked in Jeonghan’s direction. “Sorry about that” he said

 

“It’s fine” Jeonghan responded “I’m sorry about what happened earlier”

 

“Why should you be?” asked Seungcheol, his hands were clenching the sheets below him

 

“It was awkward, for both of us” Jeonghan said

 

“No I understand” said Seungcheol. “I’m actually happy for you.”

 

“Really?” asked Jeonghan

 

“Yeah” Seungcheol said in a fake voice “are you guys back together or something?”

 

“Umm, no” Jeonghan said

 

“Okay” Seungcheol said as he stood up “I'll just grab a glass of water and leave for half an hour”

 

“Seungcheol” said Jeonghan “are you mad at me?”

 

“No” Seungcheol lied

 

“Then why are you on the floor?” Jeonghan asked him, gesturing to the makeshift bed on the floor.

 

“I heard that it’s good for your back” said Seungcheol “please let me sleep”

 

“Seungcheol” Jeonghan said “please sleep on the bed”

 

“I’m tired, let me sleep” he lied, in fact, he was very much awake

 

“I won’t let you sleep until you get on this bed with me” Jeonghan sternly said

 

“I’m not getting on that bed” Seungcheol said

 

“Then I’m going to sleep on the floor with you” said Jeonghan as he got on the floor “come on”

 

“Jeonghan, I don’t want-”

 

“Right now, you need to sleep” Jeonghan said as he pulled Seungcheol on the ground “and I’m going to sleep with you”

 

Seungcheol pouted but agreed, who couldn’t resist Jeonghan?

 

Jeonghan immediately fell asleep but Seungcheol couldn’t fall asleep that easily.

 

“Jeonghan, I love you but I need to work harder to earn your love. Every touch, every kiss, I become more in love with you and I hope that you will fall in love with me too. For now, Jisoo has your heart but soon I will have it”

That wednesday…

 

“Cheol!!” Jeonghan yelled

 

“No need to yell” Seungcheol said, “I can hear you just fine”

 

“Our dorm doesn’t look christmassy enough” Jeonghan whined as he gestured to the living room which looked very plain

 

“Christmas already passed” Seungcheol said as he looked at Jeonghan

 

“Fine” said Jeonghan “wait, what are we doing for new years?”

 

“Nothing?” said Seungcheol. He didn’t have anything planned for them

 

“Really?” Jeonghan said

 

“Yeah” Seungcheol replied

 

“We need to decorate this place with new years decorations!!” Jeonghan proclaimed

 

“Ok?”

 

“Should we stay in for new years?” Jeonghan asked

 

“Whatever you wish angel” Seungcheol replied, he wasn’t really paying attention because he was thinking about what to do on new years

 

“It’s settled” Jeonghan said “we shall stay in for new years”

 

“I thought that you wanted to go out” said Seungcheol who was very confused

 

“I just suggested the idea” Jeonghan said “if we want to decorate our place then we should stay in”

 

“So we should just decorate the place and then relax and have a lazy day?” Seungcheol asked

 

“Precisely” Jeonghan said “now, we need to buy decorations!!!”

 

Seungcheol looked at his wallet and almost cried, he knew that when Jeonghan said a few decorations, he meant 50000000 pounds of random stuff that they’d never use.

“Seungcheol, isn’t this one of the stores that you can use our couples discount card at?” Jeonghan asked

 

“I think so” Seungcheol said, when they got the couples discount card, they also got a list of stores that the card worked at. Luckily most of the stores on the list were nearby.

 

“Yay!!” Jeonghan said “does that mean that we can buy more cherries?”

 

“There aren't any cherries here, this is a party store” Seungcheol said

 

“No silly,” Jeonghan said and playfully hit him on the arm “we can get them later”

 

“But we have too many already” Seungcheol. Whined

 

“Pretty please with a cherry on top” Jeonghan said giving him bambi eyes

 

“Ahh, fine” Seungcheol agreed

 

Jeonghan stepped into the store dragging Seungcheol with him, he was really excited  to buy some decorations for their dorm, he also wanted to buy a bunch of random stuff that he’d never use because it looked cool.

 

“Excuse me sir” Seungcheol said, he was lost in this store

 

“Yes” said the store clerk said

 

“I’m looking for the aisle that has new years decorations in it” Seungcheol said while he looked around for Jeonghan, he didn’t want to accidentally lose Jeonghan in the gigantic store

 

“They’re all in aisle 4” the store clerk said

 

“Oh, thanks” Seungcheol said as he walked to aisle 4, Jeonghan was tagging along behind him.

 

“Jeonghan, do you see what  you want?” Seungcheol asked

 

“Umm Seungcheol, where are the decorations?”

 

It turns out that aisle 4 was a gigantic aisle where there were decorations for everything, Seungcheol couldn’t find where the new years decorations were

 

“I think that we should ask the store clerk” Jeonghan said

 

“Yeah” Seungcheol said

 

“Excuse me again sir” Seungcheol said to the same store clerk that they had just asked for help “could you please show me where the new years decorations are?”

 

“I already showed you” the store clerk said “they’re in aisle 4”

 

“I know, but where in aisle 4?” Seungcheol asked

 

“Gosh, are you blind or something?” the store clerk said

 

“No, I’m not” Seungcheol was getting annoyed at how rude the clerk was

 

“They’re at the end” said the store clerk “here” he gestured as he accidentally knocked over a mug which broke in the floor

 

“Umm,” Seungcheol said

 

“You need to pay for that” the clerk said as he pulled out his phone to check his social media

 

“But I didn’t knock it over” said Seungcheol

 

“I really don’t care” said the store clerk

 

“You’re really rude” Seungcheol said

 

“No, you’re just really old and annoying” said the store clerk

 

“I’m probably only a few years older than you” Seungcheol said

 

“Is that your boyfriend?” the store clerk asked to Jeonghan

 

“Yea” Jeonghan said

 

“You guys should get out if you’re only going to annoy me” the store clerk said “buy something or get out”

 

“We were going to buy something before” said Seungcheol, he was infuriated “but now that we know what kinds of people work here, I don’t really want to buy anything”

 

“Good, then get out” yelled the store clerk

 

“Come on Jeonghan,” Seungcheol said ”we’re leaving”

“Now where are we going to get decorations from?” Jeonghan asked

 

“I’m not going back to that store” Seungcheol said “that clerk was rude”

 

“I know” Jeonghan said “maybe we can make our own decorations”

 

“That’s a good suggestion, Jeonghan” Seungcheol said

 

“Which colors should we use?” asked Jeonghan

 

“Red” Seungcheol said

 

“That’s the color of love” Jeonghan said

 

“Oh, then we should use it”
