Accident
Not A Passing FancyNo One’s POV:
After that short trip to the beach in the summer break, things have been going quite good for Sun Ah. She’s been working very hard on her upcoming university entrance examination and at the same, she got rewarded for all her hard work in the form of Ricky.
He had been lately too friendly with her for his own good that she even started to wonder whether he garnered any special feelings for her. Unfortunately, Ricky hasn’t really been thinking of that.
On the other hand, Sang Ki and Miyeon was still going strong. At times, their love and care for each other unknowingly made Sun Ah jealous of them as she longed for a similar relationship with Ricky.
But she kept everything under control as she knew that if she acted out of bounds, Ricky would once again back away. Somewhere in the back of her still-sane part of her head, she knew that he’s being nice to her now as she has stopped bothering him with her childish acts.
When she really couldn’t control her bottled up feelings anymore, she would directly ask him for a hug in a more civilized manner which he generally wouldn’t refuse.
One fine day, she and her brother were hanging out in their living room. Miyeon was out on a short vacation with her family which gave Sun Ah sometime alone with her brother which happened very rarely after he started dating.
Most of the time, the only day one can find the siblings alone without Miyeon is the day when Sang Ki takes Sun Ah to see her biological mother once in a month or so.
“Oppa, shall we go and watch a movie or something?” she asked her brother.
“Movie?” he let out a chuckle. “Shouldn’t you be watching it with your boyfriend?”
“Yeah as if. You know that my boyfriend is always busy, don’t you? And even if he is free, you are talking as if you would let me go out with him.” She snorted.
He let out a chuckle once again. ”Of course, I won’t. You are my baby sister. I won’t let you go alone with a guy, especially to a place where it will be dark.”
“Um, but we won’t be alone there, you know? There will be others too who will be watching the movie with us.”
“Yeah, whatever. But still I won’t let you. I know what would generally happen there. So my answer is still no. end of the story.”
“Is that what you do with Miyeon?” she shrieked while he flicked her foreword. “Ouch! Man that hurts. And what was that for?”
But before he could reply her, “My baby has got a boyfriend?” their mother Jin Kyong’s head popped out of the kitchen.
Sang Ki laughed out loud while Sun Ah rolled her eyes. “No eomma. I don’t. How would I when Ricky oppa is not accepting my heart?” she sighed dramatically while Jin Kyong chuckled.
“You still like that boy?” she asked standing in the kitchen doorway.
“When has she stopped liking him, eomma?” Sang Ki asked back, earning him a few hits from Sun Ah. “What? I was just stating the fact.” He smiled at her innocently.
“Ricky is a nice guy. But Sun Ah-ya, don’t you think you need to give boys your age a try?” Jin Kyong asked.
“I wish I could eomma. Trust me. But how could I do that when I don’t get interested in other boys even as a crush?” she sighed once again.
Jin Kyong opened to reply her but they all heard the front door opening which only meant that their father was back home from his work. “Aren’t you both going out now?” Jin Kyong diverted the topic, trying to give them a hint.
“Ah yeah eomma,” Sang Ki then turned towards Sun Ah, “Get ready fast and come down.”
Catching up on the situation quickly enough, she nodded her head and headed up to her room. A few minutes later she walked back to the living room where her father was resting comfortably on the couch watching the TV while Sang Ki was ready to head out.
“Where are you guys going?” Chunji asked his kids.
“Just to the city center appa.” Sang Ki replied.
“Ah, is that so? Then wait for a few minutes. I have got some work in that area and I will drop you both on my way.” The two kids nodded their head. “So aren’t you kids having your dinner?”
“They are having it outside.” Jin Kyong replied as she brought his dinner.
“Oh okay. Give me a few minutes kids, I will be done with my dinner quickly.”
“It’s okay appa. Take your time. We either will just walk there or take the bus.”
“Okay, but be careful kids.”
The two of them nodded their heads and walked out of the house. They both remained silent until they got into the bus and sat down beside each other. Even though they hail from a rich background, they both are still brought up using everyday routines carried out by normal people.
Jin Kyong did not want them to get used to the luxuries. She wanted her kids to be able to live comfortably under any circumstances since she had firsthand experiences of losing the luxuries overnight when her parents were murdered.
“Are you still angry on dad?” Sang Ki asked, after a few minutes of silence.
“Um, not really. But still a little uncomfortable around him. It will take me some time to forgive him completely.” Sang Ki nodded at her understandingly. “Does it hurt you seeing appa being treated like that?” she asked him, a few seconds later.
“A little. Especially since it affects our mom as well. Out of all of us, she was the one w
