Resurface of Coldness
Not A Passing FancyNo One’s POV:
After Sang Ki opened his eyes, Hyun Woo took Sun Ah to meet her brother. He gave them some privacy to have some emotional siblings bonding. But soon he had to separate them as he saw the sibling’s mother enter the hospital.
He grabbed hold of Sun Ah’s hands and hurriedly, took her over to his room since she should still be in school at that time. Once they both were inside, she wrapped her hands around his neck and jumped in joy, thanking him again and again, momentarily forgetting the hell she had been going through.
Being the clumsy girl she was, she lost her balance and nearly crashed, but Hyun Woo caught hold of her by wrapping his arms around her waist while she let out a low groan in pain which didn’t go unnoticed by him.
“Sun Ah?” he asked, worriedly while she quickly backed away with a blank look on her face. “Are you injured?” he reached out his hands to her but she started backing away more with a glint of fear in her eyes. “Sun Ah-ya!” he called out to her softly, but before he could even blink, she hit the edge of the bed and fell on top of it.
Hyun Woo wanted to rush over and check on her but something in the way she looked at him a few minutes ago, made him stop in his spot. He waited until she sat back up.
She looked up at him and then around the room, before looking back at him. He stood there patiently, looking at her with worried eyes while she had one of her hands on her waist and groaned a little.
“Sun Ah-ya! Are you injured? You seemed to be in pain.” Hyun Woo tried once again from where he stood while she let out a sigh and nodded her head slowly. “Do you want me to take a look?”
She hesitated a bit but slowly nodded her head, after which Hyun Woo walked up to her and helped her stand up, before grabbing a stool for himself to sit on.
With her help, he lifted her uniform shirt up slightly and saw a dark purplish-blue mark on her abdomen area near her skirt’s waistband. He got doubt and gently lifted the shirt a little more, only to find that her injury wasn’t small.
“Lee Sun Ah, where did you get injured so badly? Would you like to talk about it?” she shook her head vigorously while he let out a sigh. “Fine, at least let me look at it and give you some medicines, okay?” he asked while she nodded hesitatingly.
She ever so slowly, ed her shirt buttons from the bottom and stopped it right when it got to her chest. She placed her hand on top of her chest, holding her shirt in place as he inspected her injury. He gently ran his fingers on her back while she winced a little and her hold on her shirt tightened.
He quickly retracted his hand and kept it away from her for a few seconds. “Sun Ah-ya, how did you get injured like this? Are you keeping something away from us?” she remained silent. “Lee Sun AH! Should I call your mother?”
Her head shot up and she stared at him straight in the eye for a few seconds before shaking her head vigorously. “Please don’t,” she pleaded as she clutched onto her shirt.
One look at her, he decided not to press on the matter anymore. Just when he was analyzing the extent of the injury, someone knocked on the door and walked in, “Shownu hyung, someone’s here looking for you.” Kihyun, one of the other doctors who shares the room with Hyun Woo announced.
But before he could turn around and take a look, the person rushed past Kihyun and grabbed Hyun Woo’s collar. “What do you think you are doing?” he hissed at Hyun Woo while he held up his hand in surrender.
The commotion made Sun Ah to hold onto her shirt tightly and back out into the corner. Hyun Woo let out a sigh while Kihyun looked anxious. “I was just treating her, Ricky-sshi.” He replied, calmly.
“Don’t lie,” Ricky glared down at Hyun Woo who was still sitting on the stool.
When Hyun Woo still wore the calm expression, it irked Ricky and he balled his hand into a fist and was about to punch but Kihyun was quick on his feet to interfere. The noise bought in a few others to gather near the door.
“I saw what you were doing,” Ricky said, while trying to get past Kihyun.
“What’s going on here?” Minhyuk pushed through the crowd and walked into the room. He quickly understood the situation and turned towards the gathered crowd. “Everyone get back to your work. Shoo, shoo,” he waved them away before rushing back to help Kihyun.
The more the number of males increased in the room, the more scared Sun Ah was. “Ricky-sshi, please calm down. You’re scaring Sun Ah. Look!” Hyun Woo said, pointing to where Sun Ah was, while Kihyun and Minhyuk was holding back the still raging Ricky.
A minute or two later, Ricky began to calm down while Hyun Woo walked over to Sun Ah and persuaded her to come out. She hesitatingly walked out but stuck to Hyun Woo’s side as she glanced at Ricky and the other two males.
Ricky eventually calmed down and Kihyun and Minhyuk, hesitatingly let go of him. “If you don’t want to believe me, then I will let one of them examine her. You will see with own eyes that I was just telling the truth.” Hyun Woo told Ricky while she quickly grabbed hold of Hyun Woo’s hand and shook her head. “It’s okay Sun Ah-ya. I’m here and your Ricky oppa is here as well.” He whispered to her, trying to assure her.
“I will do,” Kihyun volunteered, adjusting his doctor robe while Minhyuk just stood by him silently.
Hyun Woo gently pushed Sun Ah forward and Kihyun sat down on the stool. He caught hold of one end of her shirt and slowly pulled it apart, revealing her bruise. “Oh my!” he squeaked, looking at the extent of her injury.
He pulled her shirt apart a little more which was dangerously exposing her skin. Hyun Woo, who realized it, quickly wrapped his hand around her chest and held the shirt from revealing anything more than needed while Ricky’s eyes widened at the scene.
“How did you end up like this?” Kihyun asked, as he pressed a few spots trying to figure out if it was just a muscle injury or might be anything more.
