Min Ji was expecting things to get easier but it wasn’t. Kim Bum was bailing on her a lot more and when he was with her he would spend time checking his phone. For each time he left her and canceled their plans he would show up the next day with something to give her. She took the free time to try and befriend Doo Joon again but he was a tuff one.

She was relaxing at Kim Bum’s house on a Saturday, they were laying down in his room watching a movie. Her favorite maid came in with a snack and smiled at her. “I bought you what you wanted Miss Min Ji.”

She nodded as she sat up and took the tray. “Thank you…and next time please let me come get it myself. I feel bad for letting you do it, I mean you don’t work for me.”

“It’s the least I could do.” She said as she shot Kim Bum a dirty look. “Let me know if you need anything else.” She said with a bow before leaving.

Min Ji laughed as she looked at Kim Bum. “Wow, she seems really mad at you lately. What did you do to her?”

“I don’t know what her problem is.” He said while texting on his phone. “I was thinking about firing her.”

“That’s not funny oppa!” Min Ji said with a smile as she tossed a pillow at him.

He caught the pillow and laughed. “I know you like her though so you’re keeping her here.”

She had asked for some chocolate covered strawberries and she smiled as she plopped one in . “So tasty.”

Kim Bum looked at her and smiled. “You have chocolate on your lips.”

“Here?” She said as she wiped one spot, he shook his head and she tried again.

Kim Bum laughed as he shook his head and pulled her in for a kiss. Min Ji was always nervous kissing him but she kissed back as soon as their lips met. Kim Bum always led their kisses so she was used to it but this time he pushed back on her lips causing her to fall back on the bed. It seemed as though Kim Bum was trying to take things to another level and she didn’t want to make any mistakes. She put her hands on his chest to keep some distance, he starred down at her.

“What?”

“What? What’s up with you lately? Seems like your trying extra hard to get further.”

“Is it so wrong for me to want to be intimate with my girlfriend?”

“I just don’t see why you don’t want to wait.”

He rolled his eyes before starring at her. “Do you love me?”

She was confused by the question. “I thought we’ve been through this. Yeah I love you.”

“So then what’s wrong with me? Wouldn’t you rather lose it to someone you love?”

She blushed in realization at what he meant. “Let me up please.”

Kim Bum sighed as he rolled off of her, she sat up and looked at him. “I don’t understand…” He said. “I’ve been doing everything by the book yet you still shut me out. I’ve never had to work this hard for what I wanted. You wanted me to change and I have, when I’m with you I only see you and no other girl so why won’t you---“

“When you’re with me? So then how are you when I’m not around?”

“What?”

“Basically what you’re saying is when I’m not around you have fun.”

Kim Bum paused for a minute, he hadn’t realized what he said. It was shocking that she picked that up from that sentence. “I didn’t say that so stop putting words in my mouth. Sounds to me like you’re saying you don’t trust me.”

“I…didn’t say that…” She said as she watched him take out his phone and text. “Who are you texting now?”

“Hyung Joon…”

Min Ji sighed as she stood up. “I’m heading off to work.”

“Be safe.” He said not looking up from his phone once.

Min Ji looked at him before leaving. “Oh don’t worry…I wouldn’t like a ride.” She said as she reached the front door.

“Miss Min Ji.” She looked back at the maid and smiled. “You’re leaving?”

“Yeah I have to go to work.”

“Be careful…”

“Thanks.” She said as she closed the door behind her.

Doo Joon walked down the mall he froze when he spotted Min Ji in the shoe store at work. He walked past but just as fast as he left he stepped back and looked at her again. “She looks more sad each day…wonder what happened.” He put his hands in his pocket and walked inside.

“Good afternoon, how may I---“ She froze up after she saw Doo Joon. “Sunbae…”

“I came to get shoes.”

“Of course.” She said as she led him to the guys section.

He picked up a random pair and and sat down to start trying them on. Min Ji reached up to get a few she thought looked nice. He watched her every move. *She’s gotten more pretty.* He cleared his throat and shook his head. “So…you look a bit down lately. Is something wrong?”

“Not really.” She said as she handed him another pair.

“You’re a bad liar.” He said as he tried on her pair.

Min Ji laughed as she rubbed the back of her neck. “It’s complicated.” She said.

“Try me.”

“It’s about relationships.” She said as she sat down and rested her head against her knees. “I mean I’ve never been in one but what does it mean when your boyfriend always finds an excuse to ditch you?”

“Either he’s really busy or he doesn’t want to spend time with you. If could be a bunch of things, just ask.”

“I don’t know…I feel like maybe he’s…” She cut herself off.

“Maybe he’s what?”

“Umm..never mind sunbae!” She said as she looked at his feet. “That color doesn’t look right on you.”

Doo Joon looked at the smile on his face and couldn’t help but crack a smile. With a roll of his eyes he was up on his feet and pulled her along. Her coworker saw him pulling her away and ran over. “Min Ji where are you going?!”

“I---“

“She’s going for a little break!”

“Cover for me please!” She shouted.

The girl laughed and nodded. “Where are you taking me Doo Joon sunbae.”

He looked back at her and winked. “Someplace to get your mind off of things!”

Doo Joon wasn’t kidding, he took her to a nice fair where they rode on many rides. They tried of silly hats and ate lots of sweet. They did everything the fair had to offer and Min Ji wore a smile the whole time. Both of them where enjoying their time and when it was late enough he drove her home.

They sat in the car and she laughed as she spoke to him. Finally she stopped and looked at him. “Doo Joon sunbae…thank you for cheering me up. I know I’m not your favorite person right now but…you’re still a great friend.”

“Babo even when I’m mad at you you’ll still be my favorite person. Now quit it with the sunbae.”

She smiled and nodded. “I’m glad…So Eun spends so much time with Min Ho oppa I’ve been so bored lately.”

He nodded as he starred at her, his eyes landed on her lips and he couldn’t help but be drawn in. Doo Joon inched closer and then paused before pushing her hair back. “It’s late so you should get inside.”

She nodded and waved. “Have a great night Doo Joon oppa.” Min Ji said as she ran up to the steps. She turned around once more for a last wave and disappeared into the house.

Doo Joon sighed as he dug in his pocket and took out the necklace he bought for her. “Min Ji…I wish you would see that I’m better for you?"
