Blind TiesTaecyeon sat across Joon Park who was explaining about his father’s will towards him. He wasn’t really listening to the older lad, his thoughts were somewhere else. He was thinking about the group of people who killed his father. Why were they after him? Out of all the people they could kill, they chose someone who mattered so much to him. Was it because of himself? Taecyeon? Were they after him instead of Jisub? His hand formed into a clenched fist. They were going to pay for Jisub’s death, he was sure of it. Jay was helping him on the case, to track down those ruthless suspects.
“Jisub stated in his will that you shall inherit and manage every property that belongs to your dad. Meaning there would be no distributions of wealth to other parties, given that you’re his only son,” Joon Park explained.
“Yes, I see.”
“Are you okay Taec?”
He sighed in exasperation. “Just a little overwhelmed.”
“You’ll get through it over time. Do you want to take some time off? I can cover for you for a while.”
“It’s okay hyung, I want to get busy and catch up on things where my dad left off.”
“Alright then,” Joon Park rose from his chair. “I’ll be checking on the stock market. Feel free to have the day for yourself.”
Taecyeon stared outside the window, gazing at the scenery in silence. He reached for the documents on the table as he wanted to read it thoroughly for himself. He noticed his father’s signature on the bottom of the page and he brushed it lightly with his fingertips. He couldn’t believe it was the last piece of document from his father that was for him. He whipped out his phone to make a call.
“Jay, let’s pull out the case. It’s about time.”
Yoona was having lunch with Nichkhun at a resturant, casually conversating about business talks. She figured this was the time for her to speak up about their engagement. It was now or never. They had to talk about it so both of them won’t be sorry later.
“Nichkhun,” she interrupted his sentence. “We need to talk about something.”
He placed his utensils on the plate. “Yes?”
She inhaled deeply before continuing. “It’s about time we should go our own ways,” she paused to see his reaction.
“What?” he furrowed his brows like he didn’t understand her question.
“I don’t think we should continue our engagement.”
“Oh.” Nichkhun didn’t expect her to be bringing up the topic. He thought it would take her a while to notice the growing distance between them. He noticed the change for the past few months, and they weren’t spending much time with each other often.
“I’m sorry Yoona,” he muttered. “I know there’s a gap between us lately.”
“No,” she shook her head. “It’s been my fault for falling out of this relationship. I fell in love with someone else.”
Nichkhun stared down at the table guiltily. “That makes us both.”
“Khun, I need to be honest with you. I know I shouldn’t fall in love with your friend but, I’m in love with Taecyeon.”
“And I’m in love with Tiffany,” he confessed. “I still had lingering feelings towards my best friend.”
Yoona lifted her gaze to his. “Well we didn’t expect ourselves to end up this way,” she sighed.
“But Yoona, you have to know you’re one amazing girl that I’ve met. I loved you and thank you for being patient with me. I knew I wasn’t a good fiance a couple months after our engagment. I got too busy, I lost track of time.”
“I’m sorry too, and it’s okay Khun. I have my own faults as well for not making an e
