[A Surprise Reunion]

A few months later…

“Jin, where are we going actually?” the old woman asked her, “Aren’t you supposed to be at the campus at this hour?”

She shook her head and ushered the elder into the car. Same goes for the man next to her. After the couple had entered the taxi, JinHee followed, sitting next to the cab driver.

“To this place, please,” the girl handed him a note. The driver saw the destination address and smiled, “Everybody’s going here today, it seems. I just dropped a group of young girls at the same place too.”

The grandma sitting at the back frowned, “We’re not going somewhere out of Changsha are we?”

“No, grandma. We’re just visiting somewhere nearby.” JinHee reassured her.

Over the months, she was able to learn Mandarin pretty quickly- perhaps due to the fact that Korean and Mandarin do have some similarities, but it was mostly because she was forced to. She wouldn’t be able to communicate otherwise.

JinHee wasn’t fluent, but she could pick up a few phrases and make herself understand. Communication was purely based on intuition anyways.

“What about school, Jin?” the grandpa said, sounding concerned. She only smiled at him, “I could just skip this once and ask for the notes later. University is much more flexible… And besides- today is an important day.”

They stared fondly at her and the lady placed a hand on the girl’s cheek, “It’s been quite a while since somebody had planned us a surprise.”

JinHee winked, “I won’t disappoint.”

After the taxi arrived at the venue, JinHee paid for the fees and guided the two seniors to the entrance of a building. They looked around in complete surprise and awe as the location was unfamiliar to them.

“What are we doing here, child?” the woman asked her.

She muttered a ‘you’ll see’ and continued in ushering them. They passed a guard after JinHee flashed three tickets from her pockets, earning a nod from the man as they walked in.

It was a stadium filled with a female biased audience, each of them holding a placard as they waited with their smart phones.

Feeling uncomfortable, the two elders tried to turn back out, but JinHee held onto them and convinced them to just wait for a bit. She led them through a corridor, and in the middle, they came across a lady with a nametag hanging around her neck.

She smiled at them and said, “Are you Ms. Seo JinHee?” in Mandarin. JinHee nodded and let the woman lead ahead of them.

Just as they got to a door, the lady knocked a few times at the door. Behind it, a few sounds of ‘Oh, Hyung, that’s mine!’ and ‘Please ge… Please!” were heard.

JinHee turned to look at the Zhang elders and gave them each a hug, “Have fun, I’ll be going now. You can meet me later after this.”

The girl went away as she waved them goodbye, leaving the two people speechless.

Thankfully, the lady from earlier explained that they should enter the room.

So without knowing anything, they did.

“Hyung, I’m done with my hair. It’s your turn now.”

ChanYeol poked his arm, snapping his attention from his phone. Yixing blinked a couple of times at the chat room before exiting.

He sat in the chair provided, letting the hairstylist busy herself with his hair.

We’re here :) - a notification beeped from the text. Yixing looked down at the screen and almost fell off his seat.

It had been a pretty long time since he saw her and the thought of it made him more nervous than the concert did.

A knock came at the door a few seconds later, announcing the guest.

Yixing jumped up from his seat and almost knocked the stylist as he did so. The boy bowed several times in compensation and walked hastily to the door.

The other members were already crowding at the destination, wondering who could be visiting them.

“Ge, were we expecting anyone?” SeHun asked him.

He smiled, “JinHee’s visiting. And she brought a couple of friends with her. She said they were our fans.”

LuHan rolled his eyes, “It sure is nice to have a girlfriend…”

“But you have me,” XiuMin smirked teasingly, nudging him in the ribs with an elbow. SeHun watched them with a poker face and scoffed, “Pfftt- you all know that everybody ships HunHan.”
