What if I told you that you're the one who took my breathe away?

Jein never knew his name. All she knew was that his surname was Hong. She called him guitar guy though because the first time Jein fell in love with him was when she heard the beautifully played piece strummed on a guitar by a boy who looked almost angelic. They're in the same music class but they never spoke to one another. It was stupid to think that whatever his friends call him was just a nickname. Jein is really a huge babo. But thanks to Ms Yoon they get to know each other. 

"Everyone pair up! I'm going to do an audition next week to see who are the lucky ones who can perform for the school's annual SVT Concert this year." Ms Yoon spoke loud and clear.

In the midst of everyone getting to know each other, which was to Jein really useless because the pairs were either best friends or going out so there was no reason to get to know each other. Don't get Jein wrong, she has friends, but they have their own partners sadly. So that means Jein had to partner Mr Hong who was indeed very glad to have a partner. Ms Yoon assigned them together since they were the only ones looking rather lonely and partnerless. Jein don't know whether it was possible to have your heart flip in the most satisfying way ever but she thinks she just felt that. She was really distracted by the face that this Mr Hong guitar guy is right infront of her with a hand out which Jein probably thinks that he already introduced himself. It was true because he cleared his throat and his hand looks rather lonely.

"Did you say anything?" Way to go Jein.

He let out a soft chuckle, "I'm Joshua. Hong Jisoo to be exact but Joshua's fine."

"Oh. I'm, I, uh, I'm Jung Jein." this couldn't get any awkward, right?

They had to decide what song they wanted to do forthe auditions and so all Jein could think of was '20' by Seventeen because she could totally relate to the lyrics of that song. Joshua agreed and they began with their practice. This was the first time Jein thought she would hear an angel sing.

They were singing the parts ever so perfectly even though Jein was really just distracted with everything that is associated with Joshua or just Joshua himself. When they auditioned, Ms Yoon was really satisfied with their performance.

"It just that you guys need to get lost in each others' eyes and get lost in the music and mean the lyrics when you sing." Ms Yoon suggested.

Jein couldn't bring herself to look straight into Joshua's eyes because then she would fall in way too deep. But surprisingly Joshua said they'll work on it. Jein don't know exactly why Joshua have this soft smile on his face everytime the song ends during their practice. But she doesn't complain because she knows the smile is for her. Ms Yoon chose 3 pairs to sing which includes Jein and Joshua, Seokmin and Seungkwan and also Jihoon and Seungcheol. Ms Yoon also combined 6 students into one group to form a dance group which includes Soonyoung, Minghao, Junhui, Chan, Wonwoo and Mingyu. They always practice together at the music room almost every after school. They work so well together that they were amazed and asked to why they didn't become friends in the first place. They then went for lunch breaks together with some other few friends. Jein couldn't feel more happier because now Joshua was like a friend that was very very close to her.

The concert then came and the bunch was very nervous. They said their good lucks and all the best before Soonyoung's group had to perform the opening. The screams of fangirls and fanboys truly thrilled Jein as she watched from the sideline but it didn't cover what seemed to be an expression close to when you're having constipation on her face. Joshua noticed this and went to hold her hand really tight. Neither talking about it. The silence between them was comforting. When it was their turn to perform, Joshua led Jein to the stage with their hands still together. They proceed to sit on their individual stools and let go of their hands. Joshua then started strumming and he sang his part. Throughout the whole song, like Ms Yoon said, they did get lost in each others' eyes and sang like they mean it. That soft smile with the ending strums of the music, it melts Jein's heart.

"Told you they have something going on." Soonyoung nudged Seokmin who was resting his chin on the shorter's shoulder and arms wrapped around the dancer's waist.

They bowed twice before leaving towards the back of the stage and sneaked their way to the audience to find a seat and enjoy the rest of the performances. The concert then ended and Ms Yoon dismissed the kids to go and have fun at the carnival outside. Joshua didn't let go of Jein's hand, not even once, while they explore the different types of food and enjoyed their time together. At the end of their little expedition, they sat at the bench in the school's garden.

After what seemed like forever, Joshua spoke, "Seems like we're more than friends. I-uh-don't get me wrong. Well I don't know whether you like me the way I'm thinking you do right now."

"And I thought I'm the stupid one here." Joshua looked at Jein, confused written all over his face.

She chuckled, "You're right Joshua, I don't like you. In fact I freaking love you it kills. I think it's more than normal and that's really scary. Remember when you asked what took my breathe away? Will you believe me if I say that you're the one who took my breathe away? Because you did. And I'm becoming breathless."

Joshua laughed at the cheesiness. Maybe it's true he was the stupid one. Maybe it's true he too fell in love with the other one. Maybe it's true, no, it's definitely true that he wasn't going to complain because this is worth it.

"I can't believe Joshua is that stupid to not know that Jein in deeply in love with him." Soonyoung laughed as the eyed the two holding hands and sending each other shy glances.
