Like a fool. I called myself like that. I couldn’t help it at all, love indeed make someone become a fool. I remember everything, as if our first meeting happen yesterday when in fact, I met you when you still learning how to make big sand castle inside sand box at the park near my school. You’re so, what should I say, adorable. With big round pink cheek, rosy lips, a pink t-shirt and white shorts not to mention an apple ponytail on top of your blonde head, you look like a doll, a living doll.

For a reason, I’m really thankful to little rascals, whom got black and blue bruise from my fist. If not because they disturbing that adorable little boy, I wouldn’t able to know you. I’m indeed have a big body and not so gentle attitude but I always shy around new people, especially around the person I like.

“Sungmin.” That name rolling softly on my tongue the first time I able to know your name, after years passed, that name still able to sending strange sensation on my chest every time I said it. When people say, it easier to make a friend when we were kid, I really agree. As kid, the way we befriend just based, “Do you want to play with me?” and the rest thing about age, honorific title, How rich are you? That was never for a bit, flashed inside our little simple head.

And here I was. A strong Kangin, playing with little boy inside sand box, tried to build a big sand castle. Every time your sand castle getting higher, your face will light up in happiness, and I want to see that happy face forever. Maybe it’ll be too early for me or for us to say it was love, but remember, love wasn’t bounded by age or time. Love just simply bounded by kind of love itself. In my opinion of course.

“Promise me you’ll be my hyung forever.” You said sleepily as I piggyback you back to your home after we spent few day together, build a sand castle at sand box near my school.

“I’m promise.” Our little pinkies intertwined as a seal of our promise. I could feel you smiled before sleeping soundly. “I’m promise to make you happy, despite that will sacrifice my own happiness.” I said inwardly. You doesn’t need to know about this promise but well, I guess you already know now.

Years passed, season changing and our friendship are getting stronger. I always questioning myself, why I never told you the real feeling inside my heart? Well, the answer was because I’m afraid my confession will ruin our friendship. Cliché but that’s the truth. I should bear myself to swallow pill of jealousy every time I saw you with another man. I was dating few people too but still, they weren’t you and never will be you. The feel was different.

I remember when you ask me to pretend become your boyfriend only to make your ex jealous, who is his name? Ah I remember, Yesung, yeah Yesung. That poor man tripped and fell flat on his face after he saw you kiss my cheek. He’s jealous, I could tell you. And you didn’t have any idea about the effect of your kiss, I couldn’t sleep all night long. I thought, maybe, just maybe this time you finally see me as a men and not a hyung.

Seem I must wait a little bit longer to become someone special for you. On my birthday, you were drunk and your boyfriend comes to pick you up. Siwon, I do remember his name. Tall, dark skin, handsome, an epitome of perfection, I felt so small in front of him, but if you like him, I’ll try to like him too. As long I still able standing behind you and watching you as a good hyung that supposedly I am, it’s enough.

“Sometimes you’re so pathetic, .” Heechul hyung once spat out those words to me when I kept stubborn to defend my love for you. Well, maybe he’s right.

I do remember, the day when your face so sad, very sad. Even sadder than when you break up with Siwon. You just holding your coffee cup and I watched one by one tears start falling. “Who hurt you this time?” but you didn’t answer my question. You’re crying and throw yourself into my embrace. Your coffee been forgotten. “I really love him, hyung. Very.” I want to tell you, that I love you more than that brat, who that his name? Ah, Kyuhyun, yes him, but always like usual, I hid my heart inside it.

Out of my stupidity, Heechul hyung said, the day when I help you getting back Kyuhyun was my biggest, stupidest mistake, but when you said “Thank you hyung, you are such a good person.” I think, I’ll be fine and years passed again.

I know I supposedly didn’t write this letter, because I know this letter won’t came to your hand but let me say this maybe for the first and the last time. I love you Lee Sungmin. More than you know. Please, accept my love as a namja's love and not a brother's love. Even if you didn’t have same feeling for me, at least, you can still considering me as your hyung.

Sungmin’s hand trembled after he read Kangin’s letter. With teary eyes, he looks up to Heechul, the person who gave the letter. “My brother wants to keep his feeling for himself, but I couldn’t take it any longer. Sorry, Sungmin.”

Sungmin didn’t said anything. He actually had a little bit suspicion about Kangin’s gesture toward him. Even after he back together to Kyuhyun, Kangin seem starts to distance away from him and the peak was when he suddenly entering military service without telling him first. Every time Sungmin came to visit him, he always refuses to meet him and make Sungmin frustrated. Kyuhyun felt the change on Sungmin’s attitude because of this matter and that was become the source of their break up, for real this time. “You never love me. You love him but you hasn’t realize that yet.” That was Kyuhyun last words before he walk out from Sungmin’s life forever.

“I want to meet him hyung.” He said softly. Heechul smiled, “Let’s go. We’ll pick Kangin up now. He had finished his service today.”

Inside his heart, Sungmin felt nervousness start gnawing. “What if he didn’t want to meet me? What if he hates me now?”

They arrive at military camp a little bit late, since they already saw Kangin already standing in front of gate. Heechul stopped the car and asked Sungmin to fetch him. “Go on. Fix your little misunderstanding.”

Kangin a bit confused when he saw Heechul’s car stopped a little far from the gate, but his confusion turns into big shock after he saw the person who stepped down from the car. “Sungmin?” he whispered, trying not letting his mind deceiving his eyes, but that indeed Sungmin.

“Sungmin, what are you doing here?”

“You supposedly say you miss me hyung.”

“Yeah, I miss you.”

“I love you hyung.” Sungmin pulled Kangin into tight hug, “You’re such a good person and I’m sorry because I didn’t realize faster. I love you, hyung.”

Kangin finally smiled. Maybe, just maybe, this time Sungmin was considering him as a namja who love him and not a hyung who love him.

“Na do, Sungminnie. Na do.”
