Didn't walk away

The Warmth of Spring

Author's Note: I know I have been away for years, but I am back, the lack of engagement makes me want to stop writing, please share with me what do you think will happen. What do you think Junsu meant?

-----------

Jaejoong and Su Jin hadn't spoken since their quarrel. The next day, Jaejoong traveled to Jeju Island with Junsu and Yoochun to prepare for the company's upcoming event—a seven-day affair bringing together shareholders, managers, and representatives from all their subsidiaries worldwide. Even some ministers would be in attendance, demanding Jaejoong's full focus. He knew he had to set aside the recent conflict with his wife and concentrate entirely on the task at hand.

When Jaejoong arrived at the airport, he found his friends waiting for him. After exchanging greetings, they immediately delved into work discussions.

"Yoochun, the first thing you need to do when we arrive is double-check with the resort. We can't afford any problems," Jaejoong instructed.

"Sure, but don't worry. The team traveled two days ago, and they reported everything to me. The resort is fully reserved by us, the catering is ready, and the conference rooms have been checked," Yoochun reassured

Jaejoong nodded “And who is following up with the keynote speakers?

Junsu nodded, pulling out his tablet to show Jaejoong the detailed itinerary. “Your secretary sent the confirmation, everything is set according to the plan we discussed. We have keynote speakers lined up, breakout sessions organized, and entertainment arranged for the evening receptions.”

Yoochun sensed that something was amiss with Jaejoong. It wasn't normal for him to be questioning details that had been confirmed months ago.

"Is something bothering you?" Yoochun asked, noticing Jaejoong's unusual demeanor.

"Yeah, you seem off, like you're not fully present," Junsu chimed in, sharing Yoochun's concern.

"Su Jin knows everything," Jaejoong finally admitted.

"What do you mean?" Yoochun inquired.

"Well, she found a picture of me and Jiyeon, and she's connected the dots with the kiss," Jaejoong explained, his voice heavy with regret.

Yoochun cursed silently, a wave of frustration washing over him, while Junsu's curiosity only seemed to intensify.

"Hyung, she knows even about the b-"

Jaejoong swiftly cut him off. "No, and she doesn't need to know," he asserted firmly, his tone leaving no room for argument.

Yoochun quickly intervened “Forget this now, we need you fully concentrated, I will see what Minju can do.

Before boarding, Yoochun texted his wife, and asked her to try to help return the situation to normal.

Minju was upset from Jaejoong, but she knows that divorcing or remaining giving each other for a long time is not a solution for Su Jin.

Minju decided to wait one day before contacting her friend, to meet at the lunch break, but she was surprised that her friend came to work today. So she asked her to stop by her office when she finishes her meeting.

Su Jin knocked on her friends office’s door, and entered, and she was soon greeted by an upset Minju.

Yah, you came to the company, and you didn’t bother to come see me or at least tell me?

Su Jin chuckled “I was going to come after the meeting, but you called first.

After some greetings and laughter, Minju broached the sensitive topic.

Yoochun told me you know about Jiyeon. Are you okay?” she asked Su Jin.

You knew about her too?” Su Jin responded, surprised.

I only found out at the restaurant that day,” Minju explained. There was a pause before she decided to continue.

Look, I don’t know what Jaejoong told you, but I want to make the situation clear for you.

He didn’t explain anything

Yoochun told me briefly about Jae and Jiyeon. They used to date since high school, but their relationship was... complicated, to say the least. It was toxic. I think Jiyeon was the first and last person Jaejoong truly had feelings for. She used him; all she cared about was money, status, and her career. Once she debuted, she dropped out of university and broke up with him.

As Minju finished her explanation, Su Jin fell silent. She stood and went to look out the window.

Su Jin, I understand you feel used. I'm not defending him; I'm just trying to give you some context. Jiyeon's actions made Jae resent commitment and models,” Minju continued.

“I made a mistake by agreeing to this marriage,” Su Jin muttered bitterly.

You're both victims, not just you. But you can turn this around. It's up to both of you,

This is no how I imagined me being married

Well, divorce isn't the best option for either of you, nor is continuing to live like strangers. When we were at the restaurant, Jaejoong was under so much pressure. People kept asking about you, insinuating that he was trying to forget her by marrying someone within the same career. He was trying to explain that you're different. Alcohol and pressure can lead to bad decisions,” Minju clarified, her voice filled with empathy as she tried to offer understanding for the situation.

"Look, none of this makes sense, but I'll let it slide for now. This topic is weighing on me," Su Jin replied with a heavy sigh, indicating her desire to set aside the discussion for the time being.

Minju agreed and they decided to go grab something light to eat before the lunch break is over.

Jaejoong was invited to appear on the Business Korea show, dedicated to discussions on business and the economy. As he waited for the technical team to adjust the microphone and prepare for the interview, he took a moment to gather his thoughts.

Meanwhile, Su Jin sat next to her brother, to watch the program. She knew her brother had a keen interest in all things related to business. Recently, they had both witnessed the increased media attention surrounding Balmain, particularly the positive coverage of meetings and events held in Korea, along with the outcomes of those gatherings.

The host warmly welcomed Jaejoong and the viewers of the show.

[Host]: "Welcome, Mr. Kim Jaejoong. Thank you for joining us today."

[Jaejoong]: "It's my pleasure. Thank you for the invitation."

[Host]: "First and foremost, we've noticed that you don't often appear on interviews or shows. Could you share with us the reason behind this?"

[Jaejoong]: *Jaejoong smiled softly* "My primary focus is on managing and growing the company. While I appreciate the interest, I see myself as a businessman rather than a celebrity. My role is primarily behind the scenes, where I work diligently to steer the company towards its goals.”

[Host]: "That's truly commendable. Mr. Jaejoong, could you enlighten us on why your event is being held here in Korea this time? In the past years, it has been held in the US or France.”

[Jaejoong]: "Balmain is a globally recognized fashion brand, but we take pride in calling Korea our home. It is important for us to host such events here to showcase the thriving fashion industry. The Korean market has shown immense enthusiasm and support for luxury fashion, and we wanted to celebrate our heritage and moving all the important events and decisions in Korea.

[Host]:Could you provide some insight into the purpose of these meetings?

[Jaejoong]: "This event marks a pivotal moment for our company as we outlined our strategic vision for the future, aiming to stimulate economic growth and attract international investors. We are exploring new markets and product lines previously uncharted by Balmain.”

After delving into the Korean economy and the brand’s strategies, the host unexpectedly shifted to a personal topic.

[Host]:Onto a more personal note, we noticed Su Jin’s absence at the event. Is there a reason for this?

[Jaejoong]: pauses briefly "This gathering is primarily for our managers, shareholders, and representatives from our subsidiaries worldwide. It's a business-focused occasion, and it's not customary for spouses to attend. Su Jin has her commitments, and we respect each other's professional responsibilities.

[Host]:I understand and respect your desire for privacy. However, If circumstances allowed, would you like Su Jin to be here with you? To support you?

[Jaejoong]: Smiled faintly "Su Jin's support means a lot to me

The reporters acknowledged Jaejoong's discretion and returned to business matters.

[Host]: "Thank you for sharing that, Mr. Jaejoong. We wish you the best with the event and look forward to seeing the Balmain brand continue to thrive."

[Jaejoong]: "Thank you. It's been a pleasure speaking with you."

Su Jin smiled, touched by his professionalism and the sweet mention of her, and sent him a text.

**Congratulations on you event, you did really well**

After the interview, Jaejoong checked his schedule with his assitant, and realized he had a brief break before the next round of meetings. He decided to take a moment to check his phone.

A soft smile formed on his lips, when he saw Su Jin’s text. He quickly types a response before slipping the phone back into his pocket.

**Thank you, your message was very important”

Chapter 3: I have kinda forgotten that this was supposed to be an arranged marriage story. So I was gonna guess who her father was gonna set her up with XD my bad! Anyway, coming back to the chapter, she and her brother seems to have a good dynamic and/or chemistry between them. And talking about her brother, is that actor Ji Changwook? Just curious... Nonetheless, I will be back later to read more ^^

Chapter 2: The first thing I'm most curious about from this chapter is, what was the picture that YC took? I mean what is it that made Jaejoong angry. I'm really curious of that. Also, I was surprised too that she kept her promise with the employees when she returned to the lobby after the meeting. I had to Google who were Sidus HQ artists XD Was Kim Woo Bin under that agency back then? I found out Jay Park was (from Google) and for some reason I don't like him either. LoL... And she did the modelling for Balmain with Won Bin? Are you a fan of him? I'm just curious. Anyway, can't wait to read more. But will be back later to do so ^^

Chapter 1: That was an interesting start. Since she was a top model, they expected her to be cocky and arrogant but looks like they were just being stereotypical. Although, it makes me wonder if she's the same with everyone or was just being so, because the Kims were family friends. Nonetheless, I'm glad things worked out for Balmain CEO. Can't wait to see how things would develop herein. But will be back later to do so ^^

Hi there, I see that you are writing a JJ x OC fic. I would like to start reading this but before I did so, I just want to confirm that it's okay with you if I read one chapter at a time and left a comment after. Also, wanna confirm that YC doesn't play any major role in the story. Don't get me wrong. Things aren't exactly the same with my OT5 stuff ever since his crazy scandal. But if that would bother you, I will stay away. Anyway, hope to hear from you soon ^^
PS I read your post about not receiving comments. This site is slowly dying I guess. So there's not much readers here unless it's the super famous recent groups. So don't let yourself feel bad because of it.
