Out of all the stories and warning my mum told me about, this brown eye thing was the one that stayed.

She never told me why.

But hey, I'm not stupid.

One day, I caught my mum staring at a picture. She quickly hid it in her sock draw while I looked at her obliviously.

I sneaked back in when she drove off to work and what I had found...

I cherished forever.

It was a picture of my dad.

Everyone always told me I looked like my mum in Australia.

But when they did, I was like what? You've never seen my dad though.

And they would always reply saying they didnt need to, I was 100% a mini mum.

But when I looked at the photo, then to the mirror on top of my mums drawers, hell, it was a spitting image of my dad staring back.

The photo was ancient.

From like a hundred years ago.

I mean, it was still black and white.

I literally shivered at this thought.

My dad had big eyes.

Ones that I guess where brown I mean when do you bump into a Korean that doesnt have brown eyes?

He was smirking at the camera, like a freaking boss.

How did my mum and dad even meet each other is what I want to know.

Those were the stories my mother never spoke of.

I opened the letter my stepfather gave to me, it contained an address and a phone number.

'I did some digging and I found these details of your father. Search for him if you want. Stay safe Yumi.'

I cover my mouth as I read the note again and again.

My dad. I can meet my dad.

But then I realised.

Did I even want to meet him?

I glance around the airport, searching for my petite little grandma. My mum had given me a photo of her, she literally looked exactly like her.

Finally, I spotted her waving wildly at me with a bright smile.

I take a deep breath before I start to walk, luggage rolling behind me.

"Oh Yumi you've grown into such a beautiful young lady!" she says as she hugs me tightly.

I was never a fan of skinship.

Just because. Its weird.

I mean, rubbing against someone elses skin?

No thanks.

Once she lets go of me, I smile and greet her politely. "Thank you very much for letting me stay here grandma. I really appreciate it."

She waves her hand and grabs a hold of my luggage. "Its alright my sweetheart, you're more than welcome."

Grandma insisted that I start school straight away.

It was the middle of the semester, March.

New schools were never really my thing, considering my oh so great socialising record.

But I had no choice.

I start to walk slowly towards my new school, in uniform.

I never had uniform in Australia, at least not ones like this.

These were much prettier and I actually looked the slightest bit decent.

Seoul High Private.

I had said it was alright to go to a public, but my grandma said she feared public schoolers, that gave me a bit of a laugh considering I was one myself.

I sigh as I step inside my new school. I look down to my uniform and straighten my skirt which had the smallest crumple ever.

I take out my schedule and head towards a corner, everyone was already moving around so fast, it was kind of overwhelming.

From out of no where, a tanned guy grabs hold of my shoulder which makes me gasp.

"You're Jung Yumi right?" he asks.

"Uh yeah." I say, trying to sound as polite as possible. I give him a small smile, which he grins widely at.

"I'm Kai, I'll be showing you to your homeroom."

Oh thank god.

I nod. "Great thanks."

"No problemo." he says leading the way.

If I remember correctly you used to post this on winglin right? its been so long. anyway im glad youre back and thank you for being so kind. i remember and can relate to your author note so much. As there was this author who was so mean, when all i commented was thank you for your update cant wait for the next update. and she got really mad at me saying did i not read through her foreward to not request for more chapters and all that when I didn't even do that -__-T. anyway Im happy that you decide yo continue this because Jonghyun is a subject that is still a sensitive topic for me, for I still can't say his name or listen to any SHINee music without tearing up a bit. Anyway, I hope you know your actions would be helping a lot of shawol
