Chapter 12
The Bad Boy With Big Brown Eyes
I chew on my gum slowly, the awkward aura getting the best of me. I continue to keep my head down; if I look up I know they would be looking at me with their arms crossed.
“Have you taken her on a date yet?”
I shift my eyes to my left as I hear him clear his throat. “Well…”
“Enough.” Yuri says as she lifts her hand at him, signalling for him to stop talking. She presses her lips together as she looks down at the table, moving her head from side to side as she tsks. “Unsatisfactory.”
I bite my lip as I look towards Yoona, who had been keeping in her giggles, looking at me with a ‘she’s-gone-crazy’ type of look. “It’s good to know you actually have a heart.” My mouth widens as she mutters out her first sentence this whole get together. I squint my eyes at her before hitting her shin with my foot at the bottom of the table, a yelp escaping from as she grabs hold of her leg. She winces as she stares back at me mouthing a what.
I look at Jonghyun and throw him a sorry look, his face staying blank like it always was. I see his lip tug upwards a little before he faces forward once again. “If I didn’t have a heart I would be dead.” He retorts.
Yuri laughs aloud, her hand quickly making its way in front of , attempting to contain her giggles. She rolls her eyes before placing both her elbows on the table. “Okay here’s the deal you.” She says, slightly stopping after deal, probably not knowing what to call him. “Let’s just get things straight, you hurt her I hurt you. Simple.” She says as she leans back into her chair, her elbow on top of Yoona’s.
Yoona nods with agreement then uncrosses her arms. “Yeah, we don’t care if you’re some gang member or whatever.” She says smugly. “We will beat you to the ground.”
I roll my eyes before nodding along at them, assuring them that they could totally do that.
Jonghyun clears his throat, a thing he did A LOT this whole time before his lips. “Cool.”
I purse my lips and look at my watch. My grandma had told me that she wanted me home by 5:40. It was now 5:41. I gasp aloud before getting up from my slumped position and groaning aloud. “Okay, is this over? Because I needed to be home like a minute ago.” I click my fingers together with a tsk. “And I need to buy milk.”
Yuri claps her hands together and sighs. “Great. We should hang together some time then Jonghyun.” She says as she looks at Yoona, who nods in agreement.
Jonghyun gets up and stand beside me, furrowing his eyebrows slightly before replying. “Yeah, sure.” He says, exaggerating his sure rather sarcastically.
I wave goodbye to them and hold Jonghyun’s hand once we were out of sight.
“Well that went well.” He says.
I nod in agreement and widen my eyes. “Yeah, totally.”
He rolls his eyes before squeezing my hand tightly. “Hey, I could’ve been so much worse.”
Thinking about it, I guess it really did go better than expected. I thought it would be WAY more awkward, that he wouldn’t even talk to them, ignore them like they were a living plague, and that they would throw pieces at food at him or something. Though that sounded totally dramatic, it so could’ve happened. Yuri and Yoona were scary girls, capable of pretty much anything. I quickly shake away my thoughts as we arrive at the grocery store, quickly going in with Jonghyun following behind.
“You can go if you like.” I say, making my way towards the fridge section. “I’m sure you have better things to do.”
He shakes his head and mutters a nah before grabbing the milk out of the fridge for me. “Who knows what kind of trouble you’ll get into?”
I feel my phone vibrate in my pocket, a message from my grandma asking me where I was as she ha
