Narrator POV

“I already made her leave what more do you want from me!” Jessica tried to sound firm but on the inside she was actually really troubled.

“Are you talking back to me princess?” Top asked on the other end of the line.

Jessica bit her tongue, “No… it’s just… I feel so bad for kicking Unnie out.” Her heart wasn’t made out of ice, no matter how much she loved Kai she knew that what she was doing right was more than wrong… but she can’t stop...it was too late.

“She didn’t leave,” Top stated, “She’s with Myungsoo.”

Jessica frowned, “Give her some time to buy the plane ticket will you? And she doesn’t leave until the end of this month.”

“That’s not the point, you’re too naïve. Do you think she’ll really leave after seeing you playing around with a fake knife and ketchup?” Top laughed with his deep voice sending shivers down Jessica’s back.

“S-she doesn’t know that it was fake, she wasn’t close enough,” Jessica shook her head, “I did what you asked so just leave me alone from now on okay?”

“Sure,” Top smirked, “If you want me to expose our little secret collaboration… of course I’ll run away before they can catch me but you… you're just a sitting duck waiting for them to catch you… what a shame to have such a pretty face shrivel in jail.”

Jessica shut her eyes and took deep breaths, “Okay, what do you want this time?”

“Good girl,” Top purled making Jessica gag.

“Just pick up the next time I call,” he commanded and then hung up.

Jessica dropped her phone on the floor and sunk into her bed, there were tears on the brim of her eyes.

Just exactly what did I get myself into? I should’ve never agreed to help him… I’m so sorry Unnie.

~Flashback~

-The night when someone sneaked into the hospital to cut of Jessica’s oxygen-

Creak

Jessica opened the door to the kitchen and poked her head inside to check for people. After making sure that the coast was clear she entered and opened the fridge.

“Ooh lasagna!” she squealed happily before putting it in the microwave.

She sat on the counter top, swinging her legs leisurely while staring at the melting cheese wondering exactly how long she would have to keep the act up. It wasn’t fun to lay in bed for the whole day pretending to be in a coma. She wasn’t even sure why she was doing this, maybe it was for the attention, or maybe it was because she wanted Kai to visit her and bring her flowers or chocolates like they do in the movies. However as days and days passed he didn’t even come once. Over a phone call to her Umma Jessica found out that Kai had sent Yvonne away and this new information just made her become more irritated.

After finishing her one course meal she quietly placed everything back in place and tiptoed into her room again.

Just as she closed the door, a hand clamped tightly over and she found herself trapped in between the wall and a tall black silhouette.

“Talk and you die got?” his voice was extraordinarily deep and in any other situation Jess would’ve found it hot but right now, she was shivering as she nodded mutely.

“Why aren’t you in a coma?” the person took his hand off and asked.

“I-I woke up?” Jessica lied. The guy obviously didn’t believe her but he had more important matters to take care of, “Listen I have a proposal for you, how do you like the idea of Kai becoming yours?”

Jessica her lips nervously, it was a temping deal but she wasn’t a kid, she wasn’t that easy to fool, “Who are you?”
