Narrator POV

DING DONG!

“Ceeoming,” Kai spoke with a piece of toast in between his teeth while he straightened his tie in the mirror. Thanks to Myungsoo he was able to get some sleep, and with the help of caffeine he was awake enough to drag himself up this morning.

Kai rushed to the door and opened it wondering who would come this early in the morning.

“Oh! Anyohaseyo,” he bowed when he saw that it was Yvonne’s mother on the other side of the door.

“Omo Jongin-ah there’s no need to be so polite,” Yvonne’s mother smiled then noticed Kai’s attire, “Aigoo Jongin are you going somewhere?”

“I have a meeting this morning,” Jongin replied politely, “Please come in, are you here for Yvonne’s paperwork?” He thought back to last night.

“Yes, Yvonne told you about?” Yvonne usually likes to keep things to herself, it looks like she’s getting really close with Jongin, her mother thought happily.

“Uh… yeah something like that,” Kai smiled and poured Mrs. Jung a couple of tea, “Did you have breakfast? Can I get you something to eat?”

“Aigoo there’s no need, I already ate dear,” Mrs. Jung smiled and looked around the house. Yvonne said she had her own bedroom, I wonder where it is?

Kai nodded, “I’ll go and get Yvonne-…”

“Jongin dear,” he was stopped by Mrs. Jung.

“Yes Eomeoni?”

“Can I ask you to do something for me?”

“Of course, what is it?”

“I don’t know if you were aware of this but Yvonne was homeschooled ever since she could read. She never went to school despite her dreams of having a normal life; so I want to throw her a graduation ceremony/party. At least she’ll have that when she looks back to her past. It’s nothing grand, just family members and relatives but it would be nice if you could come and court her…”

“Mhmmm…” Kai nodded, he was touched that Mrs. Jung would think of something like this for her daughter, back when Kai had finished school his parents just piled more work on him without a word of congrats. “Don’t worry Mrs. Jung I’ll bring Yvonne there tonight.”

Mrs. Jung smiled and her eyes twinkled just like the way Yvonne’s would, “Thank you Kai, and it would also be nice if you’d keep it a secret from her. I want it to be a surprise. “

“Don’t worry I’ll tell her we’re going to a business meeting,” Kai promised. His eye caught the clock, he had to leave in five minutes, “I’m sorry Eomeoni but I have to go soon, I’ll go and get Yvonne right now.”

Mrs. Jung nodded her head, “Sorry for keeping you here for so long Kai…”

Kai smiled politely and then went upstairs.

“Yvonne!” he called as soon as he opened her door.

“Mhmmmmmmm…” Yvonne murmured half asleep.

“Your mom’s downstairs,” Kai spoke.

“My…” Yvonne opened her eyes, “My mom is already here?!” Darn it! I haven’t even finished everything yet! Yvonne mentally panicked.

Beside her she felt something stir underneath the blankets but before she could check it out a person popped up and sat beside her, “What’s going on?” he mumbled with eyelids half closed.

“Y-y-you…” Kai stared back and forth between his fiancée and his best friend.

“Huh?” both of their brains were still in sleep mode. Yvonne woke up first.

“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!” she screamed and kicked Myungsoo of the bed, “WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING HERE?!”

“I-I-I…” Myungsoo was now starting to wake up, I must’ve been too tired last night and fell asleep in the wrong bed… Oops!

“Y-you!” Kai was starting to get angry but still couldn’t t
