Fateful Meeting
Seeking for CertaintyInstead of being annoyed by the punch, the phrase ‘super amazing boyfriend’ has made Myungsoo stifle his laugh. He glanced over at Suzy and saw that she was blushing in embarrassment; this only made him want to chuckle more. However, the frustration written in his girlfriend’s face made him bite back all his laughter- at least for now. He s an arm on her shoulder, before flashing a smile on the other male who was looking at them to and fro.
“Yes, I am,” he confidently said. Extending a hand, he introduced himself, “I’m Kim Myungsoo.”
Sehun reached it and shook hands with him as he bowed, “Oh Sehun. I’m really sorry about the punch.”
“It’s okay,” Myungsoo smiled again. “You were just being protective over my Suzy. I should be thankful that she has a friend like you.”
Suzy peeked at him again as the emphasis on the words ‘my’ and ‘friend’ didn’t go unnoticed. She looked at Sehun and the smirk on the latter’s lips told her that he got the underlying message Myungsoo wanted to convey.
“You don’t have to thank me. The pleasure of being with her is mine,” Sehun answered.
For a moment, both Suzy and Myungsoo saw a glint of seriousness in Sehun’s eyes but then the male immediately redirected the mood as he said, “But please attend to that wound of yours. It looks bad. Should I buy you a plaster?”
Myungsoo chuckled before replying, “It’s okay. I’ll do it once I get home.”
“Ah. Home! We need to go home!” Sehun said and snapped his fingers.
“It’s already late,” Myungsoo looked at his wrist watch. “Do you mind taking the car with us?”
“Aniyo,” Sehun shook his head hardly. “You two go ahead. I also have to pay for the ddeokbeokki.”
Myungsoo was about to insist but Sehun added, “Besides, I don’t want to disturb your time as a couple.”
The two looked at each other before looking back at Sehun who was smiling at them. He bid them farewell before he bowed again, saying,
“It’s nice to meet you!”
Myungsoo bowed back but Suzy did little but give him a small nod before he crossed the street again. As they watched him run, Myungsoo asked,
“You won’t even thank him?”
“For punching you?” Suzy raised an eyebrow.
“For quote and quote saving you. I’m guessing you also ate with him,” Myungsoo replied.
“He should be the one thanking me for accompanying him,” Suzy mumbled.
But after she said that, they heard Sehun shout on the other end of the street.
“Suzy-ya! Thank you!”
How could you even get more embarrassing? Suzy thought as she squinted.
“You should learn from him,” she heard Myungsoo teasingly whisper beside her. She turned to him but as he smiled, she saw the cut on his lips.
“Let’s go. I’m itching to tend those lips of yours,” she whispered back before dragging Myungsoo and he smirked as the former didn’t realize that what she said can be interpreted in another way.
Myungsoo watched Suzy, who was sitting opposite of him on the couch, as she fiddled with the box of plaster. The corner of his lips tugged into a smile as he saw that the plasters she was keeping still had the same cute designs of pororo like the one she used to give him. She reached for his face and gently pressed one of the smallest plasters at the cut while Myungsoo stared at her. Her face now had no hint of cosmetics but her beauty was still breath taking. He s his arms on her waist, pulling her closer as he whispered,
“Am I allowed to say I miss you now?”
Suzy then met his eyes and saw that those deep brown orbs were looking at her lovingly. She could swear that she could already melt at the stare he was giving her and she stared back at him with the same intensity. She cupped his face and her fingers lightly brushed over his cheeks as she smiled and replied,
“I miss you too.”
Myungsoo grinned wider and pulled her more so that her body was pressing against his. Suzy then hugged him back and she giggled as he whispered in her ears, “I miss you more.”
They embraced and let the time flew by as they enjoyed each other’s warmth. Suzy buried her face on Myungoo’s chest, snuggling closer to the male while Myungsoo sniffed Suzy’s hair and let his hands feel its softness. Suzy could promise herself and everyone else that she could stay like this forever but then Myungsoo spoke.
“So when are you going to start explaining about the ‘super amazing boyfriend’ thing?”
Suzy groaned before pushing him away and hitting his chest playfully. The pink blush in her cheeks just made Myungsoo laugh even more.
“Stop laughing!” she complained. She faked a glare at him before crossing her arms over her chest as she teased back, “Then what about my Suzy?”
But instead of being embarrassed, Myungsoo just gave her a cat smile. He leaned closer and stared into her eyes as he tilted his head, saying, “But you really are mine, Bae Suzy.”
Her heart fluttered at his words. He never failed to make her feel giddy even if he had already said those words before. It was like renewing his vows to her and it made her feel like his love for her was always fresh and never wilting. However, when the thought of calling Myungsoo hers came to her, her smile faded into a sad one.
“I can’t call you mine,” she said and she could hear her voice break. “So let’s settle with the super amazing boyfriend title for now.”
“But I am yours,” Myungsoo argued as he cupped her face. “I am your super amazing boyfriend.”
However, Suzy gently shook her head as she also removed his hands from her face. She whispered back, “I’ll call you mine when there’s no one to share you with.”
It was the sad truth that they have to face but it was also a topic that they both tried to avoid. However, tonight was one of those rare moments where they chose to talk about their situation.
“Su,” Myungsoo whispered as he reached for her hand but it was Suzy who took the opportunity to clasp his.
“But I am willing to wait,” Suzy added. “I am willing to w
