Oh Sehun’s love had always been the one which knew of bearing pain and sacrifices. For years, his feelings remained unreciprocated but he still chose to love the girl whose eyes and heart had always been for another man. He was the kind of person who would do everything to make his loved one happy and it would not have been a flaw if it did not included Soojung’s unrealistic and demanding favours. But Sehun did them anyway. He was madly and deeply in love with Soojung to the extent that he was ready to cause pain to everyone who broke the heart of the one he treasured the most.

He was even willing to pretend to be in love with another girl – a girl whom he grew to loath all these years that she had become the subject of Soojung’s stories. It was easy for Sehun to make Suzy believe that he was a simple stranger who was willing to get her out of the mess she was in. However, the more the male stayed with Suzy the more it grew difficult to fool her and to keep his feelings in check.

When the news of Soojung’s fake pregnancy broke out like fire that had swallowed the foundations of trust and love of Myungsoo and Suzy, Sehun knew that everything was already falling according to their plans. However, as he saw how miserable the girl had become after a broken heart, guilt was beginning to form inside him. Suddenly, he was seeing Soojung in Suzy – the way she helplessly cried and the way she seemed so fragile and vulnerable. He should have been happy with making her feel the way Soojung had always felt but when he grew to know the girl, he realized that she didn’t deserve any of it.

Perhaps Sehun would forever regret coming into her town. His purpose was to make her fall and believe him more, but instead, it was Suzy who broke his stereotype of her and every misconception that he always had. After spending more time with her, Sehun found out that there were numerous mistakes and various flaws in her relationship with Myungsoo but it was never Suzy’s fault that Soojung also fell in love with the same man nor did she will to cause pain to the other girl. She loved Myungsoo first. She had Myungsoo first. It was Soojung who came into the picture.

But Sehun could neither blame Soojung. Both females just surrendered to their feelings and Sehun perfectly knew that it was hard to prevent developing affection for someone. It comes as natural and as involuntary as breathing and almost always all of the time, one’s already in love before one knows it.

Sehun perfectly knew because prior to his knowledge, Suzy also begun to grow in his heart.

During the months that they stayed in her hometown, he realized that it was not only Suzy who was letting go of all the years she had been in love with one person. Slowly and unconsciously, he was also beginning to move on from his decade long unrequited love for Soojung.

Dating Suzy was actually uncalled for because the moment Myungsoo and Suzy decided to let go of each other, he had already fulfilled his promise for Soojung. Suzy had already been broken. Myungsoo stayed with Soojung. The relationship that Suzy and Myungsoo had for years was put also into an end. But like Suzy, Sehun also sought for certainty. He hungered for a relationship wherein his feelings would finally be reciprocated.

He found it. He found the relationship he had always sought for when Suzy said yes and they spent their days showered with love. But there had always been conflict between the two women whom he now both treasured the most. Soojung made him choose but for once in his life, Sehun chose to be happy. He chose his happiness – Suzy.

He wanted to bury away the lies he made but it had splattered across his face at the time that he wanted nothing but to make everything between him and Suzy last forever.

Sehun remained frozen in his spot as pictures of him and Soojung were scattered on the floor. If it was just an issue of him having a third party, it would be easier to solve and convince Suzy that she was the only one he loves but the pictures on the floor included past ones which reflected the connection between him and Soojung that has started even before Suzy met Myungsoo.

He then glanced at the girl but her gaze remained on the pictures on the floor. Sehun was already beginning to be consumed in fear as he uttered her name, “Suzy.”

Suzy had become sceptical ever since her meeting with Soojung but she wanted to trust the male whom she had already given her heart. Despite the heavy sensation in her chest, Suzy tried to smile as she told him, “Go on. Explain. I’d believe no matter what you say so tell me right now…”

Her voice croaked as she continued, “Tell me right now that these pictures are all lies. Tell me that they are not real.”

But Sehun just chewed on his lip. He didn’t want to tell her words that would break her heart but he also no longer wanted to lie right across her face so he chose to be silent. However, his silence had just made the anxiety in Suzy grow bigger.

“Did you know Soojung before you met me? Did you really… did you really try to win my heart so that you could throw it away?” Suzy’s eyes had already started welling with tears. “Did you… did you make me whole so that it would be more fun seeing me crumble?”

Tears have also accumulated at the corner of Sehun’s eyes as he whispered, “Suzy, I’m sorry.”

“Why are you apologizing?!” Suzy was yelling and tears had already cascaded down her face. As Sehun took a step forward, Suzy took a step backward as she screamed, “I didn’t ask for an apology! I’m asking you to answer my questions!”

The way Sehun’s eyes were wet with tears but still glistened with guilt, fear and anxiety should have already been a confirmation for Suzy but she wanted an affirmation that would come straight out of his lips. She wiped away her tears and breathed deeply before facing him once more as she asked, “Which is real? These pictures or your feelings for me?”

Tears had also flowed from Sehun’s eyes as he cried, “Both. Both of them are real.”

“You can’t choose both!” Suzy screamed.

“Suzy, I love you. I really do,” Sehun tried to argue. “And I’m sorry.”

Suzy could no longer stop the tears from falling as she whispered, “You can’t… you can’t tell me that you used me and you loved me at the same time. That is so unfair.”

Suzy then kneeled down and started gathering the pictures once more but each one she picked from the floor would be exchanged with tens of her tears and Sehun could only watch because he knew that he had no right to console the girl whose pain was caused by him. As Suzy looked at the pictures more, the more her mind was convinced that the happiness he was giving her was all for show.

She stopped mid-way and brushed her tears away as she asked, “Why is it me again? What did I do to deserve this pain?”

“No,” Sehun shook his head hard. He didn’t want Suzy to take the blame. He told her, “It was me who was wrong to carry out this plan.”
