Unravelled
Seeking for CertaintyWhat she had with Myungsoo was something that Suzy would forever treat as special but she could not simply erase the fear to love again. She knew that everything she shared with him was beyond beautiful but she feared that when she falls again, things would get out of her control once more and would lead to her own heartbreak.
But there was Sehun.
For all Suzy knew, Oh Sehun pursued his love for her despite being rejected numerous times. She tried to push him away, but then he stayed by her side even during the times that she thought she was broken beyond repair. When her relationship with Myungsoo was on the rocks, it was Sehun who dried her tears. It was Sehun who was persistent enough to give her all the time and company she needed. It was always Sehun who was saving her from the depths of sorrow.
It was Sehun who banished away all the fears and taught her how to love again.
For the second time around, Suzy saw herself falling. She was falling along with everything that’s left of her but she was no longer afraid because she trusted that Sehun would catch her. Again, for the second time around, Suzy was witnessing her love blossom into something beautiful and she was happy. She wanted to make everything between the two of them eternal. She wanted him to be her last.
What she had with Myungsoo was incomparable to any relationship that she knew she would have. She thought of it as the most beautiful and most sorrowful love story that has ever been told but she was still someone who seeks for her own happy ending. What she wanted right now was a love that would make her whole and a relationship that would grant her the certainty that she had always sought for.
She was almost confident that she had found that certainty with Sehun but that was until her meeting with Soojung.
“Where are you going?” Sehun asked as he spotted Suzy dressed up.
“To a café,” Suzy answered.
“But we just had lunch,” Sehun’s voice was almost incomprehensible because he was brushing his teeth.
“I’m going to meet someone,” Suzy replied quickly.
“Who is it?” Sehun asked and suddenly stopped brushing.
Suzy chuckled. Lately, Sehun was sceptical about the meetings she was in and the people she was meeting with. She found his fear absurd but at the same time, thought that seeing him worry and jealous is cute.
“No one you should worry about,” Suzy retorted.
“But you’re going to leave me all alone in this apartment,” Sehun pouted despite the little bubbles in his mouth.
“Yah. Are you done brushing or what?”
“Hmmm?”
“Spit that out already and wash your mouth!” she scolded him and Sehun did as told.
When he was done, Suzy immediately s her arms around his neck and gave him a deep and long peck on the lips. Sehun was taken aback for but then, savoured the moment. When Suzy broke the kiss, she smiled sweetly at him.
“Don’t worry. I won’t be gone for long,” she told him and with all sincerity, she added, “I’d always come back to you, anyways.”
Sehun smiled and nodded, satisfied. Circling his arms around her waist, he asked her, “Shall we have a movie marathon after you come back?”
“Hmmm,” Suzy nodded. “That sounds like a good idea. You better cook popcorn while I’m away.”
“Okay,” Sehun nodded back.
They shared a kiss once more before they bid each other goodbye.
Suzy was actually confused at why Soojung had suddenly texted her one night, asking if they could meet up. All these years that they knew each other, it was the first time that the girl had contacted her. However, she wasn’t afraid anymore since she already knew that both of them are happy with their separate lives. Thinking that it was the perfect time for her to mend ties or start a good relationship with the other girl, Suzy accepted Soojung’s offer to meet at the café in which they last had an interaction.
When she entered the café, Soojung immediately waved at her with a smile and Suzy gladly returned it as she walked towards the female.
“Hi,” Suzy breathed out.
“Hello,” Soojung beamed once more and gestured her to take a seat. As Soojung noticed that Suzy had already spotted the two drinks that were already on the table, she said, “I hope you don’t mind that I’ve already ordered a drink for you.”
“No. It’s okay,” Suzy smiled but there was a little furrow in her eyebrows as she mumbled, “It’s just quite odd and fascinating that you got the flavour I like.”
“Myungsoo talks about you sometime,” Soojung confessed.
“Ahh. Sorry,” Suzy averted her gaze with an apologetic smile.
“There’s no need for you to feel guilty though,” Soojung chuckled. “Before, it’s rare for Myungsoo and me to talk but we already grew comfortable of each other to the point that we could talk about you, as if you were just a part of his past.”
Suzy knew that Soojung was just telling the truth and the girl didn’t mean harm especially when she was saying it with such a sweet voice. However, she was kind of happy that Myungsoo had moved on from her but kind of sad for the same reason.
Nevertheless, Suzy replied, “Really? Then that’s great.”
“You might find this awkward but I wish to be friends with you,” Soojung whispered flashing a timid smile. She then continued, “I know we started on the wrong foot and maybe even felt ill of each other because we loved the same guy… but now that you and Myungsoo have already moved on, I wish to be friends with you because I believe you’re a good person, Suzy.”
At that moment, Suzy felt relieved that it was Soojung who was now taking care of Myungsoo. There was an innocent and kind aura that surrounded the girl. She didn’t even give too much significance of the past so that they could form good ties with each other and it was also her who even took the initiative for them to be good friends so Suzy didn’t have any idea or reason not to like the female in front of her.
“O-Of course,” Suzy grinned. “I would like that to happen too.”
“Thank you,” Soojung beamed once again. “I… I actually have much to thank you for and one of them is for giving me a chance with Myungsoo. I would never be able to thank you enough and I’m so happy that I wish for you to find another love and happiness too.”
“You don’t have to worry about me,” Suzy sheepishly said. “I’m already seeing somebody now.”
“Is it Oh Sehun?”
“How did you know?” Suzy widened her eyes but laughed it away as she answered her own question, “Ah. That’s right. Myungsoo must have told you. Besides, you’ve already met Sehun twice.”
But then, Suzy’s laughter quickly faded when silence suddenly surrounded Soojung and the girl started biting her lips anxiously.
“T-That,” Soojung stuttered. “I… I actually have something to tell you about him – about Sehun.”
“And what is it?”
“We met more than twice,” Soojung answered and Suzy observed on how she was gripping her drink nervously.
“What does that mean?” Suzy asked again, still with the playful tone as she didn’t know where the conversation was going.
“Oh Sehun and I met more than twice because Sehun used to be a friend of mine,” Soojung said and looked straight onto Suzy’s eyes. At the way the female’s eyes didn’t flicker, Suzy knew that Soojung was dead serious.
“You… you have to leave him before he makes you fal
