Author’s POV:

Amber was sitting on her bed, she had skipped her classes today, she didn’t feel like going and have to face Simon and Suzy’s questions and she wanted to avoid the possibility that Bom appear out of nowhere questioning her.

She was frowning while looking at her Ipad, looking at the pictures and the notes and well everything. How all of these things happen so fast, she couldn’t understand it anymore. One moment she was happy holding a box of chocolates, remembering the sweet time she spend with Krystal then at the next moment she had travel to surprise everyone and had ended with Krystal yelling to her that they were over in front of Sulli.

“I need to drink some water” Amber walked to the kitchen and took a glass of water, she filled it with water

She started to drink it slowly, feeling the entire silence engulfed her, feeling how deeply inside she felt the change in her life, she would love to hear a good advice or even a lame joke of her older brother.

After finishing her water she walked with heavy steps to her room, she lay on her bed, remembering what she saw, her now ex-girlfriend hugging and laughing this guy, the same guy that answer her phone the other time.

A friend, right

She clenched her jaw thinking on how she started asking for an explanation, how the guy tried to say something but she yelled at him to shut up. Then Krystal start to argue with her, things she didn’t meant and that she was sure Krystal didn’t meant was said and in matter of seconds Krystal yelled at her that she was a selfish human being that they were over.

“I’m not selfish…I guess it was my fault, to think long distance relationship could work so easily” She mumbled while closing her eyes.

She fall asleep, and for the first time in a long time she just slept, no dreams, no nightmares, she just slept and rested.

Some noise outside the room make her move, she open her eyes feeling oddly better. While stretching a bit she stood up and went outside the room, her eyes went wide open when she saw her mother and sister sitting on the living room with Suzy and Simon.

“Hi baby dino” Her sister smiled to her

“Hi” She didn’t feel like pretending to be happy or excited to see them

“Amber, what’s going on?” Her mother voice make her looked to the floor

“Nothing, Krystal and I broke up that’s all” She sit on the floor ignoring the glances Simon was throwing shamelessly to her

“I’m sorry if I didn’t tell you sooner about the wedding, I was going to call you the day you went to visit us” She smiled bitterly at her sister’s words

“Is okay…I don’t think I can go anyway” She stood up and went to the kitchen

“Amber” Her mother followed her, her tone was too low for her taste

“What?” She turned and saw her mother looking at her with concern

“Who are you?” her mother’s words make her swallow

“I’m Amber, your daughter…I’m okay, I just guess realizing things had changed make a bit less enthusiastic” She explained while turning to go to the fridge

“Do you want me to call your dad?” her mother stood on the door frame of the kitchen

“No…I just need time and space mom, I’ll be fine, sorry if I was mean out there” She sighed feeling annoyed at herself

“It’s okay, it should be your sister the one that you need to apologize though” Her mother leave her on the kitchen alone

After a few minutes standing there on the dark kitchen she went to the living room, her sister was talking on the phone, most likely to Taeyeon.

“I’ll call you later” she hung up the moment she saw Amber

“I’m sorry…it just pissed me off that it seem like everyone move on but me okay…but I’m happy that you’re gonna married” She had sit now next to her sister

“I was going to call you Amber, and it’s not like we had move on” She whispered the last part

“Hmm” She reply softly

“Krystal said you didn’t answer her messages nor her calls” She glare at her sister

“She broke up with me, she called me selfish and she said it would be better if we haven’t met…I don’t think I need to answer her or anyone if I don’t want to” Her reply came too cold

“Amber” Her mother voice made her looked away

“Amber, you start to yell that she was cheating on you, in front of everyone at her school. She was hugging her friend” Her sister seem too shock at the behavior

“Maybe she doesn’t see it, but I do, he wasn’t hugging her like a friend does” She stood up and walked to her room

She stopped on the door frame, turned her body and looked at her mother and sister, she had realized something while standing in front of the fridge on the dark.

“Things happen too fast and too hard, Henry , Minho and the whole dance competition, Krystal and our relationship, Hae’s death…we both were wrong, we’ve started to fall even before she came here to spend time with me…I was just trying to avoid the inevitable” Her voice didn’t break, it sound firm and confident

“Amber” Her sister went towards her

“The truth is…I’m young and she is young and forever somehow start to seem too far away from both of us. Send me the date of the wedding and I’ll do my best to go…say Taeyeon that is okay, tell Jessica I’m sorry and please tell Krystal that it’s the best for us, I bet she just called a few times over and then she stopped calling” Amber’s words echo in the silence room

“She did, it thought she had just grown tired of waiting for an answer” Her sister looked down at the floor

“Because she understands, she just realized what I did just now…Now don’t worry about me or her, tell dad I’m fine, tell Jong that I’m doing great…now I need to finish some homework and you must be tired. Thank you for visiting me” She hug her older sister and smiled to her mom

“I’ll be fine” She mumbled to all the people looking at her

Fanny’s POV:

I wave my hand at her, mom was still frowning but after I talked to her last night, we decided Amber needed time to adjust things, the true was that we all missed Hae, but her being away and far from us, she probably had take it worst.

“Bye, call me when you get home” She smiled to us and we smiled back

“Eat properly, don’t forget to do your homework and sleep a lot, go out with friends…CALL US” I yelled when we were start to get far from her

She just nod to me, I sit on my seat properly, stealing glances at my mom. She was upset, she said she didn’t recognize her, but I tell her it’s been a while since I couldn’t really recognize my sister.

We drive in silence, we didn’t have words nor the wanted to talk, I knew my mom was starting to understand how Amber felt because her frowned started to disappear, she end up smiling and then I saw some tears rolling down her face. I lean closer to her and she started to laughed.

“So…the dresses will be ready?” She start to talk to me

“Yeah, well that’ what Key said” I smiled to her while looking at her

My mom was a strong and amazing woman, but once in a while she will break down and then she will just try to make it look like nothing had happen. It was the way she deal with things.

“I’m glad, I guess we just need to find the place, your father and Mr. Kim hadn’t find the right place, I swear to you that they’re like the ones that are getting married” My mom start to laughed and I laughed with her

“Well, they would be a cute couple” I joke

“I know, they liked each other so much” My mom continue joking with me

“I just hope they don’t steal our date” We continue laughing

The rest of the trip were small talks, some jokes, laughter and before we could think we were reaching our house, my smile fade away a bit when I saw Jessica and Krystal outside the house, Jessica’s smile make me frown

While my mom just smile and patted Krystal’s shoulder and got inside the house, I took my time getting out of the car, after closing the door and taking my bag with me, I stood in front of them.

“Krys here wants to say something” Jessica smiled saldy at me again

“I’m sorry…I didn’t want this to end up like this…I guessed I wasn’t that mature” She was looking down at the ground

“Amber said you two were a bit bad even before you went to New York” I frown at her nodding

“It all seem clearer now to be honest…the time we spend together only make it more obvious…we were falling apart but we didn’t want to say it…I’m sorry if I make her feel bad, we were wrong, both of us” She explained to me

I guessed we all were wrong

“Well, things happen…you’ll be fine, she’ll be fine too…wanna come inside and have dinner?” I invited them

“No, our dad is waiting for us, mom decide to visit my aunt and he doesn’t like to eat dinner by himself, thanks anyway…oh and we’ll talk later about the last details that you need to arrange okay?” Jessica hugged me tightly

“We will, take care” I hugged Krystal too

“Thanks” She smiled softly at me

“Let’s go Krsy, before dad gets paranoid” Jessica joked while winking at me

“Talking about it, I need to talk to dad, he is basically searching for a place that he and Mr. Kim liked” I laughed loudly

“Well, they’ll pay for it, let them decide” Jessica started to walk backwards laughing with me

“Is still my wedding” I joke, she just nod to me and turned to continue walking

I watched them go, they were walking, with arms linked and they were talking, I smiled at the thought that some stuff was meant to be and that just like me and Taeyeon, maybe one day they will see each other again and well, they will possible end together too.

I guessed we can’t stop change…we just need to embrace it
