News about CEO Park’s murder attempted and his ‘cleaner’ was out to the world and Kris was one of the people who came searching for the both of them after getting a word of it. It wasn’t hard to find them because Chanyeol and him decided to stay in touch for Mia’s sake and both agreed to meet.

“Where’s Mia?!” Kris asked in panic as soon as Yoona opened the door to their house and the host politely invited the blonde man inside.

“She’s resting inside with Chanyeol. Both are still in quite shock so please do act calm around them.” she explained and Kris nodded before they entered the room where the couple were.

“Hey. How’s it going?” he awkwardly asked making Mia chuckle. It was obvious Yoona told him to act calm or something of that sort but Kris’ and acting weren’t really that compatible.

“We’re okay sunbae. Sorry to worry you.” Mia assured but the way Chanyeol still held her hand told Kris otherwise. Kris sent Chanyeol a worried glance and both of them knew that they have some talking to do.

“No. Don’t mention it. But what really happened? Did they catch the culprit already?” Kris asked and Chanyeol shook his head.

“We don’t even know who they after. It could be my family’s rival companies since Mia doesn’t really have any enemies but I’m still worried.” Chanyeol sighed.

“Then why don’t Mia stay in my house for a while?” Kris suggested taking everyone’s attention. Chanyeol looked at him with a glare but Kris only shrugged it off. “What? If she stays away from you and something happens in your circle then it means those crazy s are after you. You’re the one who said it. That maybe, they’re after you or your family. I’m sure you don’t want Mia involve and we don’t want that either. Since we’re not sure if they’re really after you or Mia, her staying in my place wouldn’t be that bad. She’ll be safe there and while you find who the hell planted that bomb in your place.”

Yoona patted Kris’ shoulders before giving him an assured smile that not everyone was against his idea.

“I think it’ll be better if I stay with him Chanyeol. We’re not very much sure who they really after so if something happens again, we would know the answer to that question.” Mia agreed. “I’m sure sunbaenim won’t let anything happen to me and I don’t want to cause anymore uproar with this happening. The public still know you’re engaged with Yoona and it’ll be a problem if they find out about us. You can stay here. People won’t get suspicious and you’ll be safer here.” she explained and it took Chanyeol a lot of pursuing to agree.

Mia was sitting awkwardly in the spacious living room in the Wu’s mansion. Kris had to go to university today to tell the professors about their situation and to see if he could borrow some notes for her to study. Chanyeol was busy moving in too and calming down the media and his parents, who were very worried about the explosion in his apartment. Yoona was with him so they could make the public statement on how Chanyeol will take legal action about the incident and that the investigation was still in process, leaving Mia with nothing to do but stay safe inside the Wu’s manner.

Not wanting to fall asleep and feel cranky later on, she decided to roam the mansion and never failed to oggle and gasp on how classy and extravagant the mansion was. Even the small details like carving on the ceilings looked like it was embedded with gold.

Then, afterwards, she went out to the backyard and continued her tour then until she found a small white house at the end of the garden. It looked well kept, cute and cozy and Mia couldn’t help but go and check it out.

“Maybe this is where the maids sleep?” she told herself as she approached the windows only to see a beautiful woman on her late 40s enjoying her tea inside the comfortable cottage.

She was sitting peacefully near the window, enjoying the peace and quiet moment and Mia couldn’t help but feel mesmerized by the woman’s beauty. She was wearing a long and white sleeping gown and it fit her elegantly.

The woman took a small sip of her tea and smiled, contented with the taste of it and Mia smiled too without even her noticing. She was so busy staring at the woman that she didn’t notice a pile of recycled tin cans beside her feet and toppled over it, making a loud noise and the ahjumma look at the window she was peeking at.

“Aish! I’m so stupid.” Mia hit her head as she tried to fix the mess and didn’t notice the ahjumma come on her way and open the window until she felt a her hair being pulled harshly into the window. Mia bangend her head hard on the steel grills of the windows as the ahjumma pulled her hair violently. The warm, beautiful and gentle lady was all gone and got replaced by the screaming and crying ahjumma, who was violently pulling Mia’s hair from the inside.

“Ouch! Please madam! I’m so sorry! Please let go of my hai-- OW!” Mia pleaded as she tried to set herself free from the woman’s grasps. the woman’s screams mixed with sobs startled Mia but she kept apologizing while the woman didn’t pay her any attention.

Then, Mia found herself crying from the pain and hopeless escape. She tried not to sob as she tried to pry the woman’s hand off her hair but her tears kept on coming.

“P-please.” Mia pleaded as she weakly tried to get away and the woman suddenly stopped moving and crying. Mia was shocked and took the chance to look at the woman who also had a tear stained face just like her. Then, she felt the ahjumma let go of her hair and instead, reached for her face and wiped her tears.

“Don’t leave me Althea.” Mia heard the woman plead and even though she already had the chance to get away, she remained in her place, letting the ahjumma touch her face. That name again. Mia felt a pinch in her head but she ignored it and held the ahjumma’s hand that was cupping her face.

“I won’t leave. Please stop crying.” She told with a small smile and the ahjumma nodded but couldn't stop her tears.

It took them a few minutes to calm down before they start talking again. Mia then, took the time to observe her surroundings again and just noticed that all the windows were locked by steel grills and the door was locked with chains.

Does Kris sunbaenim know about this? She thought. I don’t think sunbae would lock someone, much more a woman alone in his backyard. She looked at the ahjumma that was now staring in space with a dazed expression. Maybe, the reason why she’s locked up was because of her weird behavior earlier? Maybe she has a mental sickness? She told herself and held the madam's limp hand that was out of the grills.

“Why are you locked up here madam?” she asked and the woman took a minute before she respond.

“Because Yifan won’t let me go to you.” the woman answered before whimpering and looking up at Mia. “I wanted to go to you but he said you’re gone.” she told and began to cry again. “He lied.”

Kris got home a little bit late but he managed to fix everything he needed for himself and Mia. He entered the house quickly, knowing Mia might be sulking by now because she had nothing to do all day.

“Welcome home, master.” The butler bowed and took his things and passed it to the maids behind him.

“Hey. How’s Mia?” Kris asked teasingly but the serious face of the butler told him that Mia wasn’t whining or doing anything worth laughing about while he was gone. “What’s wrong?” he asked.

“She has found Madam’s house and took her out. They’re in the living room right now.” Kris’ heart dropped by the servant’s words and immediately went to where Mia was. He was scared that his mother might’ve hurt Mia.

Kris heard a laughter coming from the living room as they made their way there and he felt himself panic. It was his mother’s laughter and he couldn’t hear Mia’s voice.

He opened the doors harshly and shouted Mia’s name as he looked for her in the room. There, he saw the room, still on its normal state, surprising him. Then, his mother was sitting on the couch calmly with Mia’s cellphone in her hand. The sounds coming out from it told Kris that she was playing games with it but there’s still something or someone missing: Mia.

With panicked heart, Kris walked towards his mother’s way and took the phone away before holding her arms so she wouldn’t be able to run or move away. This caused the madam to whimper and soon after, cry. Her loud sobs could be heard in almost the whole mansion.

“WHERE IS SHE?” He shook her violently and Madam Wu only cried, terrified. “MOM WHERE IS--”

“YAH!” Kris turned around and saw Mia running towards them. She pushed him away from Madam Wu and comforted the terrified woman with a hug and assuring words. “Shhh… It’s okay madam. He won’t hurt you again. I’m sorry I left you.” she tried to calm the madam’s cries and when she calmed a little, Mia looked up and sent Kris a glare.

“That’s not how you treat your mother, sunbaenim.” she said in spite and Kris flinched inwardly.

“Call the Dr. Choi.” Kris whispered to the butler behind him and waited there, not moving a single inch because Madam Wu might panic if she felt him move. Mia stopped glaring at him and focused on comforting the madam until the doctors came and put her to sleep. Mia refused to put Madam Wu back in that small house though and let her sleep in her room.
