They didn’t really talk a lot while Kai was visiting Taemin at the hospital. They mostly just held hand, giving the other’s hand a small squeeze once in a while. Their eyes were locked on the other’s all the time, too, not wanting to look away, and it was very clear to see, that their eyes were smiling. Their cheeks still blushing.

“Taemin, do you mind…?” Kai asked quietly with a small smirk on his lips, as the silence finally disappeared, and Kai was leaning a bit against his boyfriend, who was giggling like a shy, innocent child.

“N-No, I don’t…” Taemin whispered sweetly, smiling at the younger, who was now leaning against Taemin to steal a small kiss. Taemin’s eyes, however, somehow traveled to the clock over the door, which gave him a small shock.

“S-,” Taemin stuttered, just before Kai had the chance to kiss him again. The older’s words left Kai confused, making him look at his hyung with a puzzled face.

“Hyung? What’s wrong?” Kai asked as he pulled away from Taemin again, tilting his head slightly.

“T-The clock… My dad will be here soon,” Taemin said, looking at his boyfriend with wide eyes, “You really have to go… Please?” The words hurt Taemin to say, but Kai understood immediately, nodding slightly.

“Ah, I see…” the younger said, smiling warmly as he got up from the bed, “I’ll see you soon, Taeminnie.” Kai’s voice was nearly humming lightly at his hyung as he messed Taemin’s hair gently.

“Wait up,” Taemin said as he interrupted Kai in his hair-messing, making their eyes meet, “Q-Quickly…” He lifted his hands to point at his own lips, wanting a small peck before Kai left him for the day.

The younger smiled widely in happiness.

“Sure!” Kai exclaimed, quickly leaning against Taemin to plant a small, soft kiss on his plump lips, that matched his own so very right. It was a bit strange, how they had already become slightly lovey-dovey, but really… None of them seemed to care, the both of them being too deeply in love with the other.

“Now… I should take a run for it,” Kai smirked slightly against Taemin’s lips just before he pulled away from his hyung, who smiled softly at him.

“Please be careful…”

“I always am,” Kai hummed in response, before he walked to the door – his eyes not leaving Taemin’s before he was completely out of the room, and ending up in the hallway of the hospital.

“Love you,” Kai sighed to himself with a cheeky smile even though he knew Taemin couldn’t hear him, he still just wanted to say it to himself. His cheeks were tickling like crazy, his heart fluttering like never before. He just felt like going inside Taemin’s room again, but he knew that he would have to get going. He didn’t want to run into Taemin’s rather strict dad, while his tongue was down Mr. Lee’s son’s throat.

He figured that it would make him very unpopular with Taemin’s dad.

The young gang leader his heels, a small smile on his face, as he walked through the hallways of the hospital. However, he didn’t really get to walk many steps, before he saw a familiar face turning the corner of the wall at the end of the hallway – the person was now walking in his direction. Kai seemed more surprised than he should be. Taemin had just told him a few seconds ago, that his father would come to see him.

Mr. Lee was now walking just a few meters away from the gang leader, who was completely frozen in place. No, he couldn’t move, because he was just too concerned about a certain something, something that had not yet happened inside Taemin’s memory.

Mr. Lee suddenly stopped up about two meters away from Kai, as the elder man couldn’t help but look at the gang leader with surprised eyes.

And at that time, Kai was pretty sure he was dead.

“… Are those… Hairstyles really popular today?” Mr. Lee ended up asking, him being at least as surprised as Kai, looking at the young boy with wide eyes through his glasses. Of course the rather rich man was referring to Kai’s cornrows and braids.

Kai, who had lost his love-struck smile long ago, just gave a very small nod, “Y… Y-Yes, sir,” he stuttered carefully, not speaking too loud since he was afraid he would be found out. He believed that Mr. Lee wouldn’t like him very much – especially not if he knew, that he was in fact Taemin’s boyfriend.

“Oh… I see,” Mr. Lee said simply, before he kept walking on, to find his hospitalized son. Kai, on the other hand, could finally exhale again, after having held his breath for the last minute. He had never been so scared of anyone ever before – he had his own reasons to be, though. So he just hurried to get out of the hospital, not wanting to see Mr. Lee on the man’s way out, too.

Taemin gasped quietly as the door to his room once again opened – hoping for a very short second, that it would be Kai, since it hadn’t been more than a minute since he left. However, it wasn’t. It was Taemin’s dad, and Taemin’s heart could relax again.

“H-Hi, appa,” Taemin said carefully, leaning back in his hospital bed once again, biting his lower lip as he was pretty sure he was going to get scolded for real now.

“Hi, Taemin…” Mr. Lee said, letting out a soft sigh as he saw how helpless and sad his only son looked, laying in a hospital bed. Suddenly, he looked way skinnier, too? It must be the clothes, which were hanging so loosely on his thin frame of a body.

“I… Brought you some flowers,” Taemin’s father said, earning Taemin’s full attention, as the son saw, that his father was carrying a bouquet with a few sunflowers, “Oh, and some pepero… I remember you liked them.”

Taemin didn’t know whether he should feel happy, or just incredibly surprised by the fact, that his father could remember that his favorite flower was a sunflower. The pepero, however, isn’t something Taemin had eaten since he was a small kid. He admitted that he kind of missed the taste of a biscuit stick, covered in various different flavors. Strawberry was his favorite.

“T-Thank you, appa,” Taemin said, taking the pepero from his dad, while Mr. Lee was finding a fine vase for the sunflowers, putting the tall flowers near the window.

“When will you be out of here?” the man asked, looking at his son who was already nibbing on a strawberry pepero.

“Uh… They said that I might be able to get out tomorrow. They want to be sure at first, that I’m alright…” Taemin mumbled. This was probably one of the longest conversations he had had with his father for years.

“Oh…” was the man’s only response as he sat down in a chair a bit away from Taemin’s bed. The whole atmosphere was quite… Awkward. Yeah, Taemin’s dad was visiting him, like Taemin wanted… But now what? What were they supposed to talk about? Taemin wasn’t interested in hearing about his dad’s work, just like his dad wasn’t very interested in knowing about Taemin’s school.

“How could this happen,” Taemin’s dad sighed, rubbing his forehead with his fingertips while he thought, “I mean… What have you done for such guys to suddenly do such things to you?”

Taemin just bit his lower lip, not wanting to answer that. He didn’t want to make his dad worried with telling him, that he was having a huge crush – and was now dating – a gang leader. No, that wouldn’t be a good idea to tell anyone.

“T-They’ve been after me for some time…” Taemin mumbled, looking a bit away from his dad while he kept nibbling on his pepero, “They’ve bullied me about my uality for a long time, and in the end… They ended up me, I guess…”

“Can’t you just tell them that you’re straight, then? What’s the problem? Really?” Taemin’s dad suggested, making Taemin roll his eyes slightly with a heavy sigh.

Yeah… I’m sure that would make you happy. Making me tell everyone I’m straight, lying to the whole world, just to become a better son for you?

“I’m not gonna lie to people about it, but I don’t just flaw it everywhere, that I like guys,” Taemin groaned slightly as he spoke, looking away from his dad in disgust. That was one of the things, he knew never would change about his dad. He would always be ashamed, because his son was a ing . Because his son didn’t want a cheesy girl, but a handsome guy. Even though Mr. Lee was Taemin’s father, he still just couldn’t accept his uality. Yes, he might care just a little bit to come and visit him in the hospital, but Taemin should have known, that the subject about his uality would come up.

“How’s mom?” Taemin asked, looking out the window still.

“She’s still in shock about the whole incident, but she’ll be fine soon,” Mr. Lee said, looking at the clock, “I should probably get home to see how she’s doing.”

“Yeah,” was all Taemin said in reply while his dad got up from his seat, not looking at his own son.

“I’ll see you tomorrow once you get home, then?” Mr. Lee said, still not looking at his son. Taemin just nodded slightly, feeling slightly annoyed that his mom couldn’t come see him. He knew, that she was shocked about her son being , but still… Taemin felt like he needed her. Maybe she didn’t like that Taemin was gay either, but at least she understood him just a tiny bit more than his dad did.

Taemin heard the door close as his dad had left, and the young boy immediately found his phone on the table next to the bed, his heart aching to actually get in contact with Kai. Yes, it’s been about ten minutes since he left… But really! They were boyfriends now, so it was okay to long for him like that, right?

Taemin smirked slightly at himself, as he quickly texted him a message, knowing that he probably didn’t really have Taemin’s number yet? Unless Luhan had given it to him…

Kai~ I miss you~!

Taemin smiled to himself, as he sent Kai his very short message, waiting impatiently for his reply, like some love struck teenage girl. Yeah, he was really strange in some ways, but he didn’t really care much about it, because he was just so very happy.

Taemin was quite surprised by Kai’s fast reply. He replied even faster than Key actually did – and Key was damn fast when it came to texting and such.

My dad left already… Are you home yet?

I’m so bored… Can’t you please come back~?

Taemin couldn’t help but laugh a bit at his own signature, feeling his cheeks grow hot again, wondering what reply Kai would give him. He just hoped, that he could come see him again, already. He missed him so much, ugh.

I’m sorry, but the guys need me…

You’ll be out tomorrow, too… Right?
