Chapter 15
The Consequences of Loving Him→ A U T H O R
You were sitting on the couch, still waiting for Jongin to come back. Kyungsoo was doing something in his bedroom, and you were on the couch watching TV, growing anxious as each and every minute passed by. It has been more than an hour, and you were determined to wait for Jongin, no matter how long it took.
You got worried, wondering where in the world he was, but phone calls would immediately go to his voicemail. Your eyelids became thicker, and you found yourself slowly becoming sleepier and sleepier, until you heard footsteps coming, which made your eyelids immediately shoot wide open. You turned your head towards the door, only to find out that it was just Kyungsoo and not Jongin.
"Sorry, did I wake you up?" Kyungsoo asked. It was nearing 11pm, already.
You shook your head and sat up, feeling a little bit of disappointment. You watched Kyungsoo, noticing that he was holding something that looked like a sign-up paper.
"What's that?" you asked.
Kyungsoo scanned the paper for a little while and smiled childishly, "What do you think of me signing up for chorus?"
You looked at your best friend up and down, he didn't look much like a singer, nor a performer. You let out a soft giggle, "You? Singing? No way."
"What's that supposed to mean?" Kyungsoo frowned. He thought that he was a pretty decent singer, not bad, but not the best.
"I've never heard you sing before," you admitted. And as hard as it was to believe, it was true. You had never heard him sing.
Kyungsoo kept all of his talents to himself, except for cooking, of course. Jongin would sometimes hear Kyungsoo singing in the shower, but Jongin would usually be too distracted with sleeping or TV to even care.
"I'll sing a song that I wrote," Kyungsoo beamed.
"You write songs, too?" you laughed a little bit harder.
"Is that so hard to believe?" Kyungsoo's eyebrows knitted together. You nodded your head and he rolled his eyes at you, like the sassy person that he was.
"Anyway," he scoffed. "Do you want me to sing for you or not?"
"Go right ahead."
You watched as Kyungsoo closed his eyes and took in a deep breath, and that's when you saw that side of him that you've never seen before. The side of the performer Kyungsoo, a whole different side. He slowly begun singing, and you felt yourself get chills. His voice was so soothing, soft, and beautiful.

You wondered to yourself why Kyungsoo had never sung to you before, because all of these years, you definitely needed someone to sing to you every night when you were crying. You watched Kyungsoo's hand gestures as he sung, and everytime he hit a high note, his hand would go up. Every time the note went down, his hand would go down with the note.
After Kyungsoo finished the last note, he opened his eyes to see you in awe. He was pretty impressed with himself, and seeing you so amazed made him even more satisfied.
"Did I do good?" he smiled at you childishly.
"Do good? Kyungsoo, you were amazing. I'm not saying this as your best friend, I'm saying this as the person that I am. If I were to hear your voice on stage, I would not be surprised one bit that you are famous world-wide." you said.
Kyungsoo took your words seriously, and he knew what his decision was. Chorus class, here I come!
"I think that's my biggest dream," Kyungsoo smiled to himself. Although he's been keeping this from you for awhile, he felt good knowing that you knew now.
"You should go after your dream, your voice is absolutely incredible." you beamed.
"Thank you," Kyungsoo bowed before he took a seat next to you on the couch and put his arm around you. "And what's your dream, Mrs.Kim Jongin?"
You felt your heart skip beats when you heard that, if only you could be called that for the rest of your life, you would probably die happy.
"I don't know, yet." you said innocently, and it was the truth. You had never really thought about your future job, especially since you never noticed how close you were to your future. You only had a couple more years left, and soon, you'd be out of College trying to find that dream career of yours that you didn't even have.
"Maybe you can be a model, so you can be in entertainment with me and Jongin." Kyungsoo smirked.
You laughed at the thought of you being a model, "So I can trip everywhere while walking on the runway? No thanks."
Kyungsoo laughed along with you, "It could happen! Maybe that clumsiness disease of yours will go away by the time you're out of College." He imagined you tripping everywhere on the runway, it was actually quite amusing to him.
You grew a little bit tired because of all the laughter and rested your head on Kyungsoo's shoulder, you felt safe. The difference between being in Kyungsoo's arms from being in Jongin's was that you felt like a little sister with Kyungsoo, and you felt comfortable. He was like a loving; older brother. He gave you the same feeling as Minho did. But as for Jongin, your heart would beat a mile a minute whenever you were in his arms, and you would constantly want to throw your arms around him to pull him in for a kiss.
Whenever you were in Jongin's arms, he would sometimes shower you with kisses and always smile. When you were with Kyungsoo, he would just pat your head or hug you tight. It was definitely different, and you noticed that. You noticed that Jongin treated you differently, does Jongin even notice his actions?
Kyungsoo heard his phone ringing from his bedroom, but he didn't move. Neither did you.
"You're just going to let it ring?" you asked. Kyungsoo's eyes were glued on the TV, and he nodded.
"What if it's Jongin?" you asked, again.
"Then I won't feel guilty for letting it ring. I ignore his calls all the time." Kyungsoo chuckled.
You smiled and closed your eyes, you knew that Jongin was probably not
