Chapter 8

I heard you're a player, so let's play a game

"Sica… I don't know what to do. You need to help me." Donghae pouted while Jessica handed him his coffee. They were sitting at a cafe in the mall and Donghae needed an advice about Eunhyuk. Jessica was Donghae's ex girlfriend who he had broken up with when he found out he was gay. At first it had been hard for them to see each other, but as time passed they learned to live with it and they were now good friends.

"Wait, let me see if I got this straight. After you broke up with me, you met Eunhyuk who you had a summer fling with. And then you had to break up with him because your dad can't accept you being gay and now Eunhyuk wants you back after you met him again?"

"And we have a winner." Donghae sighed and noticed Jessica had forgotten the milk for his coffee.

"So what do you need help with?"

"I want him to stop. But he said he won't unless I tell him I don't love him anymore. I need advice on what I should do."

"Well first off, have you told him you don't love him anymore?"

"No I haven't."

"Why not? If you want him to stop then why don't you say it to him?"

"Because… There's something inside my head that tells me I shouldn't do it.''

''So you still love him?''

''I think so.'' Donghae finally admitted and played with his own fingers before gathering the courage to look up at his ex girlfriend.

''Sica do you think I'm disgusting? Because I like men.'' Jessica gasped at Donghae's question and covered with her hands. She couldn't believe what he had just asked her.

''Donghae no! You're not disgusting, don't you ever think that. You like men and you're a man yourself, but that's normal. I actually don't think people can just be attracted to one gender. I think we all have a small thing for both men and women. I don't know what your dad said to you, but if he told you you're disgusting then he is so wrong. You're still Donghae, the cute lovable guy everyone likes.''
Jessica smiled and pulled Donghae in for a hug. He hugged her back and felt happiness spread inside him when he knew at least someone accepted him for who he was.

''I need to go, but I'll see you tomorrow at school. And just do me a favor, will you?'' Jessica asked while gathering up all her stuff.

''Sure, what is it?''

''Think about if you still love him. If you do then tell me and I swear I will help you find a solution. Bye Hae.'' She kissed his cheek and waved to him as she left the cafe. Donghae waved back and leaned down in the chair.

He had some serious thinking to do. He knew the chemistry was still there between him and Eunhyuk, he couldn't deny that. But he didn't want to go to Japan. It would for sure kill him.

But was it worth ruining everything with Eunhyuk? The damage to their relationship had already been done, but Eunhyuk said himself he wasn't going to give up until Donghae could be his.

''Lee Donghae what have you gotten yourself into?'' Donghae asked himself while he stood up to go home with his coffee. Although what Donghae didn't know was that Eunhyuk had accidentally walked by and seen everything on a distance. And he wasn't happy.

Sungmin was tossing and turning around in his bed. It was in the middle of the night and usually he would have been asleep by now, but he couldn't close his eyes for more than a few seconds. When he had come home from school Kyuhyun had called his mom and decided to go home.

The older still didn't know what had happened the day before, but if Kyuhyun didn't want to talk about it then he wouldn't push him into saying anything. But what if something had happened to him when he had come home? What if he wasn't safe?

Without any more though about it Sungmin sat up and looked for his phone on his nightstand in the dark. When he found it he dialed Kyuhyun's number and waited for someone to pick up. After a few signals someone picked up the phone and yawned before talking.

''Hello?'' The voice said lazily. ''Hello is anybody there?''

''Hey Kyuhyun. It's Sungmin.''

''Sungmin? Do you know what time it is? I'm sleeping...''

''I know, but I had to call you. Are you okay?''

''I'm fine. Why do you ask?''

''No reason. It's just that you seemed so down yesterday.''

''I'm okay. Now go back to sleep Sungmin.'' Kyuhyun mumbled and was ready to turn off his phone when he heard Sungmin's voice.

''No Kyu wait!''

''What?'' Kyuhyun growled in an annoyed voice. He had been in the middle of a wonderful dream but it had been ruined by Sungmin's sudden call.

''Can I ask you something?''

''You're already asking.''

''Right. It's just... have you ever been in love?'' Sungmin's question gave Kyuhyun a kick and now he was wide awake. What did Sungmin just ask him?

''Can you ask that again? I didn't hear you.''

''I asked, have you ever been in love?''

''You're kidding right?''

''No I'm not. Just answer my question.''

''No, I haven't. Why do you ask that anyway?''

''No reason. Listen, I'm sorry for waking you up. good night.'' Sungmin hanged up without letting Kyuhyun speak.

''Sungmin? Sungmin? Aish, that brat!'' Kyuhyun growled when he heard the beeps. He threw his phone back down on the pile of clothes beside his bed and made himself comfortable in the warm covers.

He tried to go back to sleep but felt it was useless after a few minutes. Sungmin's question echoed through his head.
'Have you ever been in love?'

Wasn't it obvious he never had? Why would Sungmin even ask such a question? And of all people, why Kyuhyun?

''Lee Sungmin, I really don't understand you.''

''Ryeowook, can you please bring these to the school gym?'' The English teacher asked Ryeowook when the young boy passed the teachers room. Mr Jang was holding up a bag with basketballs, which he had borrowed for one of his classes.

''But Mr Jang my class starts in a few minutes.''

''Don't worry about that. Just tell your teacher I told you to do it.'' Mr Jang shoved the balls into Ryeowooks' arm and closed the door before the boy had a chance to say anything. Thinking that there wasn't much he could do now, Ryeowook did as he had been told and made his way towards the school gym.

The balls weren't heavy but there were so many of them that they covered Ryeowook's face. He tried to see where he was walking but couldn't because the balls were blocking his view.

Suddenly he felt how he crashed into someone and he heard the sound of books falling down to the floor. He let go of the balls to see what had happened, and his eyes almost popped out when he saw he had hit Yesung.

''I-I'm so sorry Yesung Hyung! I didn't see you.'' Ryeowook panicked and reached down to help Yesung collect his books.

''I'm okay. Ryeowook calm down, it's just a few books.'' Yesung said when he saw the panicked expression on the youngers face.

''I'm sorry Hyung. I will watch where I go next time.'' Ryeowook bowed his head and handed the books over to Yesung.

''I said I'm okay. Where are you going with all of these?''

''To the school gym. Mr Jang asked me to do it.''

''Really? Is it okay if I come with you? I'm late for my class anyway and the teacher won't let me inside.''

''Oh. Uhm, sure.'' Ryeowook smiled and grabbed the balls again. Yesung saw how much the younger was struggling with walking while trying to balance the balls, when he suddenly got enough. Ryeowook felt how the weight in his arms disappeared and looked up, only to see Yesung carrying them.

''H-hyung I can carry them.''

''No you can't. You look like you're going to fall over if you continue to carry them.''

''But I-''

''I said I can carry them. You can take my books instead if you want.'' Yesung smiled and handed Ryeowook the books. When he realized he wasn't going to win Ryeowook gave up and took the books.

''So are you coming to Heechul Hyung's party this Saturday?'' Yesung asked just to break the silence.

''I don't know. I've never been to one before so I wouldn't know what to do there.''

''You've never been to one before?'' Yesung asked in a surprised voice. He didn't understand how a cute guy like Ryeowook had never been at a party. ''Then you need to come. Most people from the school is going to be there. Including me.''

''I don't know...''

''Please? If you come then I promise you that you will have a good time.''

''Maybe. I have to think about it.''

''Okay, but let me know if you're coming.'' Yesung winked at the younger and put the balls down outside the school gym.

"My class is about to end soon, but maybe I'll see you at Heechul's on Saturday." Yesung winked again and headed back to his classroom.

"Yeah. Maybe you will." Ryeowook smiled and went to look for the P.E teacher.

''He asked you that?!'' Eunhyuk and Heechul exclaimed at the exact same time when Kyuhyun told them what had happened the night before. Neither of them could believe what they had just heard. Heck, Kyuhyun couldn't believe it either. And lucky enough for them they were the only ones in the classroom, or else someone would have scolded them for being so loud.

''Why would he ask you something like that?'' Kyuhyun shrugged his shoulders in reply to Heechul's question and sighed. He thought back to what his mom had said when he had come home the day before.

His dad had been long gone and as usual he hadn't left before trashing at least something in the apartment. Fortunately Mrs Cho was free from any sort of scratches this time since Mr Cho had taken his anger out on the furniture.

''Kyuhyun don't listen to your father. Everything he said about you is not true. There is nothing wrong with you, okay? You're my son and I love you. Whoever you decide to be with I will accept that. Just don't listen to what he said.'' Mrs Cho had said and wrapped Kyuhyun into her arms like she used to do when he was a kid.

''What if he's falling for you?'' Heechul interrupted Kyuhyun's thoughts, bringing him back to reality.

''What?''

''I said, what if he's falling for you? Why would he call you just to ask that if he wasn't falling for you?'' Eunhyuk couldn't help but chuckle at Heechul's statement.

''No way. Sungmin is the kind of guy who would want a gentleman, unlike the brat over here.'' Kyuhyun shot a death glare towards the blond and narrowed his eyes.

''At least I have someone! Look at you, you can't even get Donghae back!''

''To be exact, Sungmin is your fake-boyfriend! And I can get Donghae back if I want to.''

''Aish shut up! You two are like kindergarten children!'' Heechul yelled when he got enough of their behavior.

''Whatever. I need to go to the bathroom so if you ladies will excuse me.'' Eunhyuk stood up to leave the classroom.

''Have fun fapping over Donghae!'' Kyuhyun yelled after the blond, earning him the middle finger.

''Stupid brat... One day I will come after him.'' Eunhyuk mumbled and headed towards the toilets. He was just about to step inside when he heard a familiar voice.

''I like you. I still like  you and I want to give us a second chance.'' The voice came from the toilets and in pure curiosity Eunhyuk peeked inside. He saw Donghae standing in front of the mirror. Wait, what? 'Give us a second chance?' That could only mean... Donghae wanted to be with him again?

''So what do you say? Can you give me another chance?'' Donghae continued and turned around. Eunhyuk was just about to speak when he heard a high pitched voice.

''Of course I will Donghae. You don't even have to ask.'' Eunhyuk peeked a little further and he was shocked at who he saw. It was the same brunette from the day before, the one in the mall with Donghae.

Eunhyuk felt how the anger raised up inside him and he couldn't help but to slam the door open. Both Donghae and Jessica's eyes turned towards the door and they both became pale.

''E-Eunhyuk?''

''What the hell Donghae! What are you doing?!''

''H-how long were you standing there?''

''Long enough to see this! Is this the reason why you won't take me back? Did you lie about your dad?''

''No that's not it!''

''Then what is it?!'' Eunhyuk roared back, making Donghae take a few steps backwards.

''Yah, stop yelling! Listen to him instead. I think I should wait outside, and stop screaming before you attract too much attention.'' Jessica said and walked out before Donghae had a chance to protest.

Nothing was said between the two boys. There was only silence and the atmosphere was cold. Donghae was biting his lower lip and looking anywhere but at the man in front of him. Eunhyuk however was staring at Donghae and trying to figure out what to say. He knew he had scared him again, and he cursed himself for it. He had promised to protect Donghae but here he was, scaring him for the second time in just two weeks.

''Eunhyuk it's not like you think... I wasn't confessing to Jessica.'' Donghae finally spoke while keeping his eyes on the floor.

''Then what were you doing?''

''She was helping me.''

''With what?''

''With what I should say when I said those words to you.'' Donghae finally looked up straight into Eunhyuk's black eyes.

''What I said to her was meant for you. I thought about what you said yesterday and I realized you were right. I do still love you but I was stupid enough to push you away because of my parents. I want to be with you again.''

''Are you sure about that? How would you break it to your parents?''

''They don't have any control over me after I turn 18. But since my birthday is so far away I don't know what I should do. I still want to be with you but they can't know. At least not for now.''

''So you want us to hide?'' Eunhyuk raised an eyebrow. Donghae sighed when he knew he had screwed it up now. It came out wrong, he didn't mean to sound as if he were ashamed of Eunhyuk.

''That... didn't come out right. What I meant was... Aish screw it. Do you see what I mean now? This is the reason why we can't be together. We would have to hide from my parents and that would make both of us miserable. You deserve someone who can give you the love you deserve.''

''If hiding is what will take for us to be together then I will do it. As long as you're serious about giving us a second chance.''

''I am.''

''Then screw what our parents say. We can find a way to do this, I know we can.'' Eunhyuk gently smiled and walked up to Donghae. They both wrapped their arms around each other, feeling the wonderful feeling they had felt during the whole past summer. The feeling they both had missed so much.

''I'm so sorry for screaming at you before.''

''It's okay.'' Donghae smiled into the hug and felt how Eunhyuk let go to look him straight into the eyes.

''No it's not. But all of that is over now. I will never do it again, I swear. I love you Hae.''

''I love you too Hyukkie.'' Donghae caressed the blonds cheek and they both moved closer to each other. Soon they both felt how their lips crashed against each other, and how Eunhyuk pulled Donghae as close as he could get.

Outside the toilet Jessica, Ryeowook and Sungmin were peeking inside to see what happened. The trio had witnessed the whole scene and they couldn't help but smile foolishly at the adorable scene in front of them. They all moved away from the door to let the reunited couple have their own space.

''Jessica I need to say this now or I will regret it. At first I thought you were a , but you are probably the best ex-girlfriend ever. I have no idea how you planned this, but whatever you did it worked.'' Sungmin praised Jessica for her job.

''Thank you. It wasn't easy to fix this during only one night, but I know neither of them wants to be separated like this just because Donghae's parents can't accept certain things.'' The bell finally rang, signaling that the classes were over for now.

''Well I need to go now. But tell Donghae to call me later, okay? Bye bye.'' Jessica blew them both an air kiss and skipped off.

''Ryeowook can you tell the two weirdos inside that if they don't stop each others faces someone is going to see them?''

''Alright Hyung.'' Ryeowook smiled and skipped inside. The second the door closed behind him Ryeowook's high pitch scream could be heard from inside. Apparently someone got a little too exited...

The white IPhone vibrated inside Sungmin's pocket and he took it out. The screen said he had a new text message from an unknown number. Thinking that it was probably Kyuhyun Sungmin opened it without any hesitation.

Hello Sungmin, it's Kangin. Please call me when you can, we need to talk.
 //Kangin

Wait a minute... back up! Kangin was texting him?! But how was that possible? Sungmin was careful about who he gave him number to and he knew none of his friends would give it out either, not after what had happened.

The sound of all the other students around him brought him back to reality, and he realized he head been standing frozen at his spot for a few minutes. Sungmin hurriedly deleted the text and put the phone back into his pocket before storming away.

*What the hell... What do you want Kangin?*

Chapter 29: I have read this story over a short period of time, and it entertained me a LOT! :D
It was really cute to see Kyu falling first, though it was probably not that visible to those around them.
Some of those pick-up lines were such a disaster! xD
Let's just hope no one EVER uses them towards any of us!

Thank you very much for writing all of this ♥︎
