Trance
Dazzling Wish
He-help me.
Immobilized with fear, sweat trickles down my forehead. Please, tell me this is a dream.. The demon's dark red crimson eyes glowed furiously, it was angry. Furious.
"Get out, get the hell out!"
Baekho.. Was that Baekho? I took a small step backwards and its jaw lowered, exposing its sharp yellow teeth. Sharp as knives. I'm.. I'm dead.
I closed my eyes and visions flashed before my eyes. Silver light shined immensely. Th-that's it.
"Hyuna-unni." I ran to the younger Hyuna, her ribbon flowing down her long caramel hair. She smiled back and held my hand.
Both, hand in hand, we ran to the grassy plains. The blue sky was absolutely painted, the clouds flew through the blue beautifully. Too good to be true. A sight, unforgettable memory. We fell backwards and let the long blades of grass caress our hair.
"One day.." Hyuna breathed. "One day, we'll come here. Together. With.. with our boyfriends. " I turned my head towards her and smiled at her.
"Promise?" I lifted my pinky, she smiled and motioned. Promise was made. This was a moment that I never wanted to forget. I wanted this promise to stay true.. never did I know it would shatter.
Seconds, minutes later. The skies morphed into grey dark skies. It was no longer the blue skies, no more sun. Darkness.
"Hyuna-unni! We got to go ho--" I got up abruptly and noticed I was all alone. No... Winds whirled through the grass plains, a sudden roar filled the horizon. Turning back to answer the sound of the growl, a dark cloud formed into a mutant, a demon, its yellow eyes beamed through the dark grey skies. Run..run _____. That was all I could do. I kept running. The same trees, the same grass, the same rocks passed me by. As fast As I could I kept running for my life, it came closer, the monster behind me. I fell and turned at the monster.
"What do you want!?" I yelled, practically screamed at it. The monster came to a halt as it sat right in front of me. The demon was probably as large as a mountain. Its breathing kept its pace with my own. We were both tired. And angry. I felt so angry..
"Well!?" I roared back.
The monster stared back dumb-foundedly as I slowly approached it with slow slides. I can't believe I'm doing this, I thought to myself. I tried to remain on a calm state, showing no fear. At least, trying to.
"Huh!?" I roared back.
It grumbled, almost human. Its glowing eyes slowly faded but kept its stare at me. I gulped and clenched my fists:
"What do you want from me?"
"_______ Kim. 17 years old. Last year in Highschool. Current wish: Shot at love. Wishmaker: Choi Minki. Correct?"
I slowly approached him a bit more and sat in front of the monster. I raised my hands to show that I was no threat, hopefully I wasn't making a dumb mistake. I was now showing vulnerability. This demon could do anything it wished. Trembling a bit from fear, I let out:
"Correct. " I let out a shaky sigh as the monster approached slowly as well. No sign of danger. At the moment that is.
Slowly, before my eyes, the monster slowly faded into a cloud of fog. I covered my eyes and nose as the stench was overwhelming. Tears formed as the strong density of the fog was burning.
"You are a foolish human."
I opened my eyes and it was Erian. No.. it can't be. But his voice.. Erian sat in front of me and placed his hands on either sides of his knees, as he sat, legs crossed on the cold ground.
"What did you do to everyone else?" I growled. I knew there was something fishy about this guy.
"This is simply a vision. You're in a deep sleep at the moment. The demon that was fighting Baekho not long ago put you into a trance. Don't worry. Just wanted to have some fun. " He smiled mischievously.
"Fun?" I growled, letting out a low snarl from the depths of my throat. I felt my breathing get all groggy as the smoke around the two of us clogged my breathing supply.
"This is all in the mind. Where pain originates. " He smiled, placing his leather-covered finger on his right temple.
"What are you?" I asked, observing the dark coal wings on both sides of his back.
"I wouldn't call myself particularly human." He rubbed his hands together.
"Neither would I. " I fired back. "Don't beat around the bush, Erian. Or.. that's not your real name. "
"Call me Eriathus." He smiled, a sudden knife appearing in his hand.
"Are you a Starlite?" I asked, backing away from him.
"Once. But that's the past. I was banished. Banished from the society. They didn't want to hear anything of power. They didn't seek strength. How could we survive if all we do is play Tinker Bell? They banned me when I have fulfilled a "silly" wish. I'm here to show them what dark magic I could use. But I'm missing an ingredient. " He twirled his fingers.
"Pardon? And what does that have to do with me?"
"Each wish fully granted increases the power of the maker. I need to fulfill one more wish and I have enough power to master my dark magic. " He lifted a small rock on the center of his palm and watched it shatter into rubble. I gulped and backed away as he approached me ever so slowly.
A cold surface was felt behind my back, I couldn't back any more. I would be lying if I said that I was brave. I was scared. I feared for my life and I was all alone.
He landed his palm straight onto the wall beside my head and leaned closer. I tried moving but he wouldn't let me budge.
"Let me tell you a little secret.." He smirked.
