Day 13: “You  sleepwalk a lot and sometimes you knock on my door so I have to lead you back to your apartment” AU

“Tao, why do you look like you haven’t had a good night sleep in ages?” Kris asks the younger who looks like he can fall asleep any moment.

Well maybe because you have been knocking on my door every ing night.

“Nah don’t worry about it ge, I just want these midterms to be done so I can finally relax. They’ve been keeping me on the edge for nights already. There is no night that I go to sleep without feeling guilty about studying enough because I decided other things were more important.” The last part gets muttered because Tao snuggles into Kris' shoulder. Kris just smiles at the younger and starts going through the midnight black hair with his hands.

“What midterm do you have tomorrow?” he asks with a soft voice, careful not to startle of fully wake Tao up from his almost sleeping. “ing chemistry,” the younger mutters and he cuddles even closer to the older, almost as if he thinks that the closer he is to his boyfriend the further away his midterm will be. “Well, look at the bright side, if you finish tomorrow you’re done and don’t have to go through this again for another three months,” Kris tries to lift the mood. Tao huffs and Kris wraps his arms around him. “I got English too and you know I at it. After that, I need to rock chemistry which I’ll absolutely not, like the only thing I know is how to look up the difference between acids and the things that are not acids. Goddamnit now I can’t even remember the name. After that I still need to make a sculpture for art, go to work and by then I’ll probably be dead tired.”

Tao is a crybaby, he knows, his boyfriend knows, his friends do and the whole ing school does but nobody really gets mad about it. Kris finds it rather adorable to see his boyfriend cry out of frustration but now is not the time to awe about how cute Tao was (Tao would kick his if he knew what he was thinking about).

Kris stands up with Tao in his arms, bridal style. “Come on, let’s get you to bed. You’ll feel better tomorrow." Tao doesn’t even argue and lets him be put in bed and welcomes the darkness that makes him sleep.

His sleep doesn’t last long. The knock he expects every night by now makes him almost jump out of bed. When he opens the door he is greeted by a view of his next-door boyfriend (..they’re not allowed to live together just yet since Tao’s parents are ridiculously traditionally so they’re neighbours until the older generation of Huangs approves of them living together) with his usual bed hair.

Instead of once again getting frustrated Tao just smiles, ruffles the taller’s hair and leads him inside his own bedroom. What’s the use of returning Kris to his own apartment when letting him sleep at his place was less work and means more body to use as a pillow.

Kris apologises that morning when they both wake up but Tao just shakes his head. “I used you as pillow anyways so you were of good use.” Kris chuckles and they cuddle, once more off to dreamland.

(Tao’s alarm was ignored. Two hours later, the younger is screaming about how he’s missing his English midterms and why his good-for-nothing boyfriend didn’t wake him up because Tao does know that Kris had heard the alarm. As a reply to being called useless, Kris just says that “he wasn’t good for anything other than being a pillow” and Tao sees how ridiculous they are and they decide to just call in sick and stay home.)

(technically this was written on the 11th but I thought it was better to write in advance than having to write more because I'm behind. Also Tao rambling about midterms is currently me because I have chemistry midterms  tomorrow today and I (yesterday) didn't know anything.)
