Broken and Mended

Amber looked at her in shocked. Did she hear that correctly?
“You mean bun??” Amber tried to stay calm.
The girl turned her face to Amber before saying the word blood again.
“You want blood??” Amber asked again to make sure.
She nodded her head weakly. The next statement make Amber even more shocked.
“I know who you are because I’m one too.” The girl opened weakly and flashed Amber her fangs to prove her point.
“Omg…. … It’s real….” Amber stared at the fangs in disbelief while she used her fingers to poke them.
“No wonder you seem different when I first saw you!” Amber exclaimed excitedly as a smile spread over her face.
“Please… I haven’t had blood for 3 days… it’s killing me…” the girl pleaded weakly.
From her pale face, Amber could see that the girl indeed hasn’t fed for days and she knew best what would happen next if she was still derive of blood.
“Okay just lie down there. I’ll be right back.” Amber dashed out of the room towards the living room where she built a secret compartment for the blood storage. (Only she and Nicole knew of this compartment).
Grabbing a random pack of blood, Amber quickly rushed back to her room.
She saw the girl lying lifelessly on the bed.
“Oh no.. Please don’t tell me I’m too late.” Amber began shaking the unconscious girl worriedly.
The girl suddenly flicked her eyes open.
“Sorry.. I slipped into unconsciousness again.” The girl smiled weakly.
Amber immediately pulled the girl in a sitting position and position herself behind the girl so that she was lying comfortably on Amber’s chest.
“Here. Drink all up.” Amber tore the tip of the bag with her teeth then placed it in the girl’s mouth.
“Thank you for saving me and feeding me, miss.” The girl smiled gratefully at Amber after she was done with her ‘meal’.
“It’s nothing, really.. and you can call me Amber.”
“Thanks Amber. I’m Krystal. Erm… do you mean what you said earlier?” Krystal’s voice softened at the last sentence.
Amber gave her a puzzled face.
“I sort of overheard you saying that you’ll protect me…….”
“Oh… yea… You’re actually the first vampire I ever met since I become one… I’m really glad that I found you.” Amber smiled shyly.
Krystal smiled back.
“Erm… I’ve something in mind that keeps bothering me… but I’m not sure how to put it…” Amber scratched the back of her head.
“It’s okay. You can ask me anything.” Krystal smiled, trying to assure the older girl.
“Okay… well… when I was bathing.. I mean sort of cleaning you up, I noticed there were… a lot of scars.. and wounds…” Amber paused, not knowing if she should continue as she saw Krystal’s smile dropped.
“You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to. Seriously..” Amber immediately added in.
Krystal shook her head.
“It’s alright. If it’s you, I don’t mind letting you know.. I couldn’t recall anything else except that I woke up in a dark room with a bright light shining on me, and I was being strapped on a metal table. And.. and then there were these strange men in gowns and masks… taking my blood… stabbing me with weird objects.. doing all sort of weird tests to my body… I can’t exactly remember how long I was in there before I fell into unconscious… when I regain conscious, I was in a different place.. I was in an abandon warehouse I think.. it was very huge and was dirty and smelly.. I was tied up in metal chains.. then these guys in suits.. they… they started to hit me with objects.. over and over… and ov-er…” Krystal broke down in tears as she recalled the horrible incidents.
Amber quickly hugged the young girl tightly in her arms. She was definitely shocked about what happened to Krystal. Somehow, her heart just broke into millions of pieces after hearing what Krystal just said.
“Shh… don’t worry. You’re safe here now. I won’t let those people near you again.” Amber comforted her while hugging her tightly, whispering comforting words to the girl.
“Those bastards… I swear I’m going to hunt you down and pay back what you did to Krystal ten times worse!” Amber thought as she hissed angrily.
Amber continued to hug Krystal and gave gentle pads on her back until she noticed that the younger girl had fallen asleep with teary eyes.
“She must be really tired and exhausted from all this.” Amber thought as she tucked the girl to bed. She couldn’t help but looked at Krystal’s face sadly as she remembered what she had been through.
“Perhaps I should give Narsha a call, to let her give me a copy of the data we got from Kim Shin Mo. It might be a good way to start the investigation.” Amber thought as she grabbed her phone from her pocket and stood up.
Gently and quietly, Amber tip-toed to the door, not wanting to wake Krystal up.
“Please… can you stay in the room with me? I’m… I’m scared.” A tiny voice came from the bed.
Amber stopped moving and turned her head back.
“Sure Krystal.” Amber walked back into the room and sat on the edge of the bed.
“Sleep well and don’t worry, okay? I’m here.” Amber gave Krystal’s hand a gentle squeeze to assure her before lying on the nearby couch.
Why was Krystal targeted? Is her vampire identity exposed? Are they doing experiments on her? Who the hell are these people? How much do they know about us? All these questions flooded Amber’s head as she lay on the couch.
However, one thing for certain was that Krystal was not out of danger yet. Amber had a feeling that Kim Shin Mo was just one of the people involved. Soon, the rest will found out that Krystal was missing and definitely will send people to track her down. She wouldn’t be surprised if it involved people from the government since Shin Mo was one of them. Amber knew she had to find out more about Kim Shin Mo to have a rough idea who she is dealing with.
Even though, Amber and Krystal had just met, Amber felt that she had the responsibility to ensure Krystal’s safety. Most importantly, plans to keep Krystal safe. She knew it was impossible to do it alone. With Nicole lying in the hospital now, she knew she couldn’t burden her with such things yet when she regained conscious.
“I guess I’ll talk to Narsha tomorrow. I would need to let Taeyeon and the rest know about my identity soon… I’ll definitely need their help… *Sigh* Just hope they don’t freak out…” Amber tossed about on the couch as she tried to think of a perfect way to break the news to the gang.
----TaeSooYulSic’s apartment----
Taeyeon was fidgeting uncomfortably while standing near the balcony. She has been waiting for the rest to go to bed before approaching Yuri.
“Yuri… do you have a minute?” Taeyeon whispered loudly enough for Yuri to hear while the rest walked to their respective bedrooms.
Yuri immediately understood what Taeyeon wanted and nodded her head while nudging her head towards the balcony. Taeyeon followed along.
Before Taeyeon could even ask, Yuri started to speak.
“Sulli said she understands fully why you didn’t go to the airport and she doesn’t blame you. But I could see that she was quite disappointed though… and she was basically crying throughout the conversation.. before leaving, she asked me to pass you this and to let you know that she loves you very much even though both of you are worlds apart. ” Yuri took out a package from her jacket and passed it to Taeyeon who was on the verge of crying again.
“Th-thanks Yul….” That was all Taeyeon managed to say before breaking out in tears once again.
Once Taeyeon started crying, Yuri couldn’t help but feel that her heart too was breaking into pieces. She wanted to do something to make Taeyeon feel better but she knew only Sulli’s return can heal her. Right now, all Yuri could do was to provide Taeyeon abit of comfort by hugging the shorter girl and let her cry all out.
“Let it all out, Tae… let it all out…” Yuri patted Taeyeon’s back gently which make Taeyeon cry even harder.
“Geez.. I hope I don’t fall in love anytime soon.. I’m not sure if I can handle all the drama that well…” Yuri thought as she held on to Taeyeon as the shorter girl sobbed her heart out.
Little did she knows that fate had some surprises arranged for the tanned girl, be it she was prepared or not.
----Several hours later, Goodstay Motel----
“Sir, Mr Kim is still not answering his phone…” A young man with blonde hair in suit glanced nervously at the older man in front of him as he continued to punch some numbers on his phone.
“Siwon, Shin Mo last location is here?” The older man suddenly spoke as he turned to face his two bodyguards.
“Yes, Sir. Someone saw him bringing a girl from a club to this motel. His room is 507.” Another young man in suit with black hair replied.
The three of them continued walking and stopped at room 507. Siwon then tapped the key card on the lock as he pushed open the door, the three of them gasped in horror.
“What the hell?” The older man exclaimed as he saw the three unconscious bodies lying in a bloody mess.
“Where’s the girl????” The older man shouted anxiously as he looked around the room.
Siwon and the blonde hair guy immediately searched the room, flipping all the furniture upside down.
“No sign of the girl, Sir…” Siwon and the blonde hair guy bowed their head low.
“… this is… Arghh Shin Mo, you idiot!! *Sigh* Minho, call backups to take care of the bodies. Wake Shin Mo up and get him to talk ASAP! Make sure to get the forensic team to find out what hell happened here! And I want the videos of the motel’s surveillance cameras checked thoroughly. ” The older man rubbed his temples roughly as his face was red with anger.
“Siwon, setup a searching team, we need to find the girl now! Both of you, I want a full report on what happened by tomorrow morning, 9am.” With that, the older man turned around and left the room in anger.
