Broken and Mended
----At TaeSooYulSic’s apartment----
“Did any of you notice something is weird between Amber and Nicole? Like awkwardness even though they have been partner for so long.” Sooyoung asked while munching on a bag of chips.
“Yea.” All three replied in unison.
“Huh?” Sooyoung stopped munching on her chips and turned her attention to the three.
“Nicole likes Amber for like ages already. It’s just that Amber is too dense to get it.” Jessica replied.
“Uhuh.” The two replied while nodding their heads.
“Why didn’t anyone tell me??! I could have help them, you know.” Sooyoung asked in disbelief.
“Come on.. It’s so obvious that even our Chief knew it too.” Jessica rolled her eyes at Sooyoung.
“If you’ll put less attention on food and more to your surroundings, I’m sure you’ll almost be as smart and alert as me.” Taeyeon teased while sticking out her tongue.
“YAH!! If I were to put less attention on food, I’m sure I’ll turn out to be around your height instead. And I would rather be slower than shorter!!” Sooyoung shouted angrily.
“What did you say??!! You stupid LAMP POST! I gonna beat you till you become a TABLE LAMP!!” Taeyeon clenched her fist while walking towards Sooyoung.
“STOP IT! BOTH OF YOU! Where are you both arguing in the first place? Ain’t we talking about Amber and Nicole?” Yuri shouted and quickly grabbed hold of Taeyeon while Jessica grabbed on Sooyoung.
“So.. do you think we should help Nicole out? She sounded rather upset while talking to me on the phone the other day.” Jessica couldn’t help but feel upset for Nicole.
“I think for now, we should just leave them alone.. until Nicole ran out of ideas.” Yuri replied with a serious face.
“Okay! I’m in!” Sooyoung said as she continued to munch on her chips exitedly while the three ignored her and went to prepare dinner.
----The kitchen----
“Aish… We ran out of oil.. and rice.. and eggs..” Taeyeon said in a frustrated tone while peering into the kitchen cabinet.
“CHOI SOOYOUNG! You better get your to the supermarket now! Else no dinner for you!” Taeyeon shouted angrily.
“This stupid Lamp post is eating like a whale. Aish…” Controlling her temper, Taeyeon tried not to throw a chair at Sooyoung’s face.
“Oi!! I hear you, shortie! Try to be more discreet if you’re talking behind people’s back.” Sooyoung retorted while sticking her tongue out.
“I’ll throw you a chair before I can be discreet!” Taeyeon placed her hands on a nearby dining chair while glaring at Sooyoung.
“Alright alright. Stop arguing pleaseeeee. I’ll go with Sooyoung in case she got too carried away in the supermarket.” Jessica then went to get her coat and left the house with Sooyoung.
“Seriously Taeyeon, your temper is getting worse especially these few days. Are you alright?” Yuri wrapped an arm around Taeyeon’s shoulder with concern.
“I’m fine……. I.. We… Sulli broke up with me…” finally Taeyeon couldn’t hold back her tears and began to sob into Yuri’s arms.
“Omg.. I’m so sorry Taeyeon.. She is such a nice girl and.. Why did she want a break up?” Yuri was loss for words about the sudden news.
Taeyeon and Sulli were together for 2 years and they were always so loving and cute together. Sulli knew Taeyeon had secrets kept from her (for working under secret service)but she understood Taeyeon’s situation completely and didn’t pry further.
“She.. she’s going to England… for further studies.. her whole family is migrating there as well.. She knows how hard it is for me especially long distance relationship.. you know.. not being able to see each other physically.. to kiss.. to touch.. to…” Taeyeon quickly stopped when she realized that she was about to say and blushed.
“I got it Taeyeon, no need to be so detail.” Yuri rolled her eyes at byunTae.
“So that’s why I was feeling so down recently… I miss Sul… I..”Taeyeon’s voice cracked before she sobbed again. Her heart was breaking into million pieces. Her adorable Sulli is leaving Korea to another part of the world. She can no longer see her cute smile, feel her warm touch and snuggle together when she’s over for sleepover.
“Awww Tae... I’m sure Sulli wouldn’t want to see you like this as well..”
“Yea.. that’s why.. I won’t be seeing her off at the airport tomorrow night… I know if I were to see her, I won’t be able to let go of her…” Taeyeon’s voice trailed off as she struggled to control her tears and emotions.
“Yuri, is it okay if I go lie down in my room for a while? Would you be able to cope by yourself in the kitchen?” Taeyeon asked exhaustedly.
“Sure Tae. I’m fine here. Go take a rest. I’ll call you when dinner’s ready.” Yuri tried to flash a smile to make Taeyeon more at ease before pushing her away from the kitchen.
Taeyeon just walked lifelessly back to her room. Without bothering to turn the lights on, she dragged herself to her drawer and took out a photo.
Placing herself on the bed, she slowly and carefully examined the photo while tracing her finger against it.
“Sul.. even though we might be thousands of miles apart, I won’t forget you or our relationship. You’ll always be somewhere in my heart. Sorry.. If I’m selfish but I just can’t bring myself to see you off tomorrow.. I know it’ll be difficult for us to let each other go.. I love you…” Taeyeon brought the photo close to her chest before she felt a tear escaped from her eye. Without holding back, she finally cried her heart out… all the pent up emotions released.
----Back to Amber’s mansion----
Both of them were holding each other hands tightly while glancing into each other eyes. Amber was the first to break the silence.
“Are you still afraid of me, Nic?”
“I used to but not anymore.” Nicole smiled while her fingers Amber’s jaw.
“To tell you the truth, I’m still afraid of myself… Afraid of… hurting you.. I’m afraid that I can’t control this power within me and lose my human side… just like the first time…” Amber stared at her feet when she said that.
“It’s your first time after all.. This power was new to you.. Look at you now. You’re doing so well.. and I wouldn’t even know you’re a vampire.” Nicole comforted her.
“That is if you be a good girl and drink blood regularly. You know you’ll get weak and lose yourself if you don’t.”Nicole turned to face Amber with a serious look.
Amber just nodded her head while still staring at her feet.
Amber had been sneaking into various hospitals blood bank storage for blood every few days. To avoid suspicion, Amber only took a few packets during each trip. She didn’t like to drink directly from humans themselves. It made her look un-human.
“Have you had your blood for today yet?” Nicole asked.
Amber shook her head and watched as Nicole got up from the couch and disappeared from the study room.
Ten minutues later, Nicole came back with a glass of red liquid in her hand and sat beside Amber.
“Here.. open your mouth.” Nicole leveled the glass to Amber’s mouth and slowly let the liquid touched Amber’s lips.
Opening , Amber gulped down the red liquid and felt satisfied when she finished the drink. Closing her eyes, she felt her power recharged again and a comfortable warm feeling spread all over her body. A smile crept up her face.

Drinking blood has a few effects on vampires. Firstly, it helps them to regain their energy back especially after special abilities are used. Secondly, it calms them down, to prevent them from going into blood-thirsty mode thus losing the human-self. Thirdly, any injuries on their bodies will be healed 3 times faster than normal. And also if a vampire the wounds on a human, it’ll help the wounds to heal up faster too.

When Amber opened her eyes again, she found Nicole smiling at her.
“Why are you smiling?” asked a confused Amber.
“Hmm.. I like to see you drink this.”Nicole hold up the empty glass. “Somehow I find that rather y and hot.” Nicole gave Amber a wink.
Amber couldn’t help but blushed at that last comment. Somehow, she like what Nicole said.
“Omo.. so this is why everytime she rushes to help me get my drink and feed me. But why do I like what she just said?” Amber thought.
“Because you’re interested in her, baby.. Amber is slowly falling in love with Nicoleee.. *wink*” sub-Amber was practically singing in Amber’s head.
Shaking her head, Amber got up from the couch.
“Let’s go Nic. We need some sleep. Tomorrow is our mission and it’s going to be a long day.” Amber then put out both of her hands for Nicole to grab on.
Nicole nodded her head and grabbed onto the hands in front of her.
They both then walked to their respective rooms.
Stopping in front of their doors, they both looked at each other as if they still have a lot of things to talk about.
Nicole was hoping Amber to say something before they retired for the day.
“Goodnight, Nic.” Amber muttered.
“Goodnight Am.” Nicole replied with a rather disappointing voice.
Turning the door knob, Nicole was about to enter her room when she felt s pair of hands pulled her back. Turning her head, she saw Amber stood close to her with a shy smile. To her surprise, Amber’s face was actually inching closer to her!
“Omgomgomg!! Is she going to kiss me??” Nicole’s eyes widen at her thoughts and she could feel her heart skipped a beat.
And then she felt something wet on her cheeks.
“Sweet dreams.” Amber whispered before quickly skipping back to her room.
Still stunned by the kiss on the cheek, Nicole brought a hand up her face and then a smile crept up.
“Well.. at least it’s a kiss on the cheek. It’s an improvement. Hehe. Nicole fighting!!!!” Nicole laughed silently as she threw a fist into the air before entering her room.
